I visited Bridal Extraordinaire with my sister and some friends while she was on the hunt for the perfect wedding gown. This place was super fun, and had a ton of reasons to shop here. First of all, the stylist we worked with was SO nice, fun, and helpful. She was five stars all the way. I loved the dresses she tried - all of them were gorgeous. The only reason I'm giving 4/5 and not 5/5 is because the building itself has seen better days and in comparison to some other bridal boutiques it just didn't have as much elegance (though was still very nice!) also it felt less intimate since there were probably 3-4 other fittings going on and you had to walk through at least one of them to get to our fitting room, which felt a bit awkward. Overall would I recommend? Absolutely! Is it the *best* experience in town, maybe not, but it's a close second. read more

We thought this place was amazing until went back for the second appointment. We asked specifically for our stylist, Molly and said she would be there. No, she was there for 10m because we had to repeatedly ask for her. Also, the things Molly said that could be fixed in alterations cannot not be, making the dress look completely different then we thought. She did a fabulous job listening to me and using her experience to land the perfect gown for me, everything she showed was under my budget also! Came in to experience a friend dress shop and it was an AMAZING experience. They open at 10 am, but we got there about 20 mins early and they allowed us to come in and get comfortable. We worked with Devon, and when I tell you she was beyond great to work with! As my friend showed pictures, gave feedback on dresses pulled , Devon LISTENED which I think is the most important part. If my friend expressed not liking something about a dress, then she wouldn't pull anymore that fell in the category. She made my friend feel heard and comfortable! She didn't push anything or try to force a dress on her. My friend ended up finding the dress there and we came back for her to say yes to the dress! Such a fun and beautiful experience. read more

After trying several wedding dress shops, my new Daughter in Law found the perfect dress here: They listened to her wishes and made a few additions to the dress that made it stunning. They were not pushy or irritated when we said, "we love that but we still have another shop to see". She said she understood and if she wasn't there anyone could help us. That alone made me want to return. They told us who to use for alterations, which was also a great choice. BE is hands down the best bridal shop I have ever been to. I have been to david's bridal, some boutiques in NE and some smaller businesses in KC, and no one does it like BE. I woke up and decided I wanted to find my wedding dress that day. As some of you know, it's nearly impossible to do walk-ins at bridal shops. After going to a few and trying to schedule a few appointments, which we successfully did for later in the evening, we called BE. They had just opened and advised they could fit us in immediately. As soon as I walked in the door, I was welcomed by a few of the staff members. The interior of the building was decorated gorgeously. Private bridal suites, with couches, chairs for guests and extremely large mirrors. A separate room with a large mirror to dress in private. Devon introduced herself and informed me she would be my bridal consultant for the appointment. Devon led me back to a private viewing room and asked to see pictures and pinterest boards of wedding dresses I liked. She asked specifically what I liked about it, what I disliked and what I was indifferent on. After going through the run down, Devon personally measured me to ensure the dresses I tried on would fit. The best part was that Devon wasn't awkward about seeing me in undergarments or somewhat naked when trying on dresses. She made me feel comfortable in my own body and not judged. After going to some previous shops, I wasn't measured and they guessed which led to me not being able to fit in certain gowns and getting stuck so this was very reassuring off the bat. Devon is hands down one of the most sweetest, kindest, outgoing, bubbly and most helpful consultant I've ever encountered. Devon listened to understand which was huge for me. Devon pulled a variety of dresses and helped me realize the dresses I liked in the photos, I didn't like on my body. We were able to figure out what dresses fit my body type and the very last dress Devon pulled happened to be my dream dress. Devon took me to the celebration suite when she asked if I was saying yes, then popped a bottle of champagne. They also gave my pregnant friend a sparkling water so she could enjoy as well. The owner came in and personally congratulated me and gave me compliments on the dress. After dressing out, they asked to take a yes picture to celebrate. I can't say enough wonderful things about this shop. The staff are lovely and helpful and they were very respectful of my budget. However, the biggest reason for my review is the help they provided during alterations. I had taken my dress to an alterations place I had worked with before and who I had heard positive things about from a friend who took her wedding dress there. However, it ended up being a terrible experience and less than 2 weeks before my wedding, my dress was not even close to finished and still didn't fit correctly. I called Bridal Extraordinaire in tears to see if there was anyone they could recommend who could help me with so little time left. They made a few calls, and were able to find me an alterations expert within minutes and arranged for me to be able to see her that same day, The new person was phenomenal and my dress fit beautifully when she was finished. I was in desperate need of a dress after my dress from another store was no longer coming in time for my wedding. The staff is all amazing and made me feel amazing in each dress. The staff goes above and beyond as they should! For how much dresses cost they understand you should be in one you love on your wedding day. Even though I was in a time crunch as my wedding is in 2 months they showed dresses I can get in time and didn't show ones over budget as other shops do. Bought my amazing wedding dress here and had the best experience! I'm extremely disappointed that I forgot the name of the wonderful lady that helped us but honestly the whole staff was extremely helpful and they all seemed to love their job! They give you a large room to host your guests with a changing room. I basically told them basic questions about the style dress I want and my budget and they came in with a large selection of dresses! Literally every single dress was breathtaking and the quality of all them was incomparable to other shops I visted. After saying "yes" to the dress, they gave us a free bottle of champagne to enjoy! Since they have designer dresses, expect the dress to take a few months to get to you. They offer a option where you only have to pay half upfront and the rest when you get the dress. They dont do alterations but they have two places that they recommend, but they are a bit pricier so I'm debating whether to use them. Overall had an amazing experience with this shop and I would highly recommend it to any future bride! They place is stunning, and everyone is really nice. The biggest issue was that was that the stylist did not seem to really listen to the bride. She was pulling big fluffy sparkly strapless gowns when the bridge wanted more simple classic A-line gowns. They had a discount which was a good deal, but in terms of actually picking dresses, they did not listen to her. I give this bridal shop 1000/10. You must try this place. I had an absolutely epic experience. My stylist's name was Britney. She was so sweet and kind and just made me feel like I was the most important person in the room (which is how it should be when your shopping for dresses. The appointment was scheduled for an 90 min, which I feel like is ample time. I got to try on about 7-8 dresses. I am very laid back. My budget was $2000 or under. I told her what I like, but that I was open to trying anything on really. She brought in 5 dresses to start with. I fell in love with the second. I tried 2 more on after that. I said yes to the second dress! The owner came in and congratulated me and asked me about my wedding. I felt like the whole experience was magnificent. I have previously been to David's bridal and this was by far 1000 times better of an experience. If you purchase your dress the day of your appointment you get 10% off and they even celebrate by popping a bottle of champagne! I never once felt rushed or hurried. I had the BEST experience with Bridal Extraordinaire!!! They were the second shop I visited with my 2 MOHs and my Mom! Angie was my stylist, and from the minute to her introducing herself to me and my friends/mom, to her fun personality (but still professional, which I really appreciated), she TOTALLY understood my "vision". She pulled MULTIPLE gowns that were what I had explained to her, and I was honestly shocked at how much inventory they had. She absolutely nailed it with the first one I put on, but she made it a point to have me put on multiple afterward just to "be for sure" and to encourage me to have fun getting dressed up and soak in the moment. When I finally put the dress back on and added accessories, we had the MOST fun moment saying YES to the dress! One of the most plesent experiences I've ever had....and I didn't even buy a dress there. I was not a typical bride. I found out I was pregnant and about 2 months later we decided to get married....in a WEEK! So I was 4 months pregnant (wasn't showing yet) looking for a wedding dress to wear to my own wedding a week later. So I went to a bridal shop that was close to my house because I heard great reviews and I walked in and stood around for about 15 mins with the associates just looking at me...after that long of not being greeted I left. I then went to a chain bridal shop and it was a chain...what can I say. I didn't really like much. So that being said it was a Thursday night at around 6-7:00, I heard BE was good but I didn't get my hopes up because I heard it was pretty up-scale as well. When I walked in w/ no appointment told them my situation, they put me in a dressing room right away. My sales associate came and she was as nice as can be. I tried on several dress and everything seem to fit well....but the 1 dress I really liked was about 2 sizes smaller than I was and she said with it being such short notice they could take out the zipper and making it a lace corset and you wouldn't be able to tell a difference. They also told me that I could buy that dress on the floor for a lower cost if I wanted to. I ended up not buying a dress from there because it was out of my price range (considering I went in a week before the wedding) But I still recomend this store to any bride I meet! BE was the first place I went to try on wedding gowns, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. I did end up purchasing my dress here, after going to a second appointment that day and realizing I needed to go back and purchase a dress I loved (plus take advantage of a small discount by purchasing on the same day). Kindal was my associate and she did an amazing job. She pulled dresses in several different styles and silhouettes which helped a dress newbie like myself narrow down what I was looking for. She ended up snagging a dress that another bride tried on and didn't care for, and it was absolutely perfect. Her knowledge of the dresses, helpfulness and overall kindness made the appointment so enjoyable. If you are looking for a capital-G wedding GOWN (I mean big, princess-worthy, bling-encrusted) then this might be the place for you. I was not looking for this type of wedding dress, and my visit to Bridal Extraordinaire was not especially fruitful. Unlike the previous reviewer's experience, there was no cake on my visit. I even mentioned that review when I made my appointment and asked if it would be all right if we brought some champagne. They said sure, they would have "everything set up" for us. I thought this meant maybe a table and glasses...? No sign of anything like that when we arrived. Oh well! Since their big-gown aesthetic didn't really work for me, we didn't end up staying very long anyway. The dressing area was spacious and the staff friendly enough. Here's the thing about Bridal Extraordinaire... they literally cut NO corners. Their service made up the common phrase "second to none" and of that I'm sure. I received a phone call before my session from my stylist who asked the important questions, including IF I HAVE A PINTEREST BOARD SHE COULD SEE! Who does that?!? Literally above and beyond. She knew the dresses I would love more than I knew. And she had never met me. And when I panicked after buying the dress and not going anywhere else to try dresses on (to no fault of them, that's just who I am as a person) they l went SO far out of their way to help me and work with me and make sure I wasn't just happy, but ecstatic. They are extremely genuine. I could go on and on about my experience here and about how amazing it was (and i do know because i went to multiple places after my melt down, and not one held a candle to BE, just further confirming my choice) but all I can say that should Resonate is, there is no place in this entire state (minimum) that will take better care of you. I went here in August 2011 to look for wedding dresses. It was my first and only time I tried dresses on! I had heard from a friend that if you buy that day, they give you 15% off, so I was determined to find one that day for the savings. I made an appointment for a Saturday afternoon, and told them that my mom and 2 maids of honor would be joining us. I emailed them a few days before my appointment to see if it was OK if we brought champagne, and they said yes, of course! That made our experience even much more fun! Andrea was my consultant and she was AWESOME! She took me to the room right past the register that had a HUGE platform and mirrors and plenty of seating for my guests. I sat down with Andrea and told her my budget, and showed her some photos of dresses I liked that I'd seen online. (My advice would be to visit their website because it lists the designers they carry, then go to those designers websites and look at dresses and take style numbers). She also told me up front about the 15% off if I bought that day, and it was totally no pressure. She ran off and came back with some dresses I had wanted, and also some she thought I might like within my budget. I loved almost everything she brought! There was also a dress I had requested to see, and she brought it and told me right away BEFORE she let me try it on that it was out of my price range. I like that she didn't put me in the dress first and then tell me how much it was. She was totally cool with my budget ($1000) and I they had PLENTY to choose from. I ended up falling in love with a dress that I saw when I first walked in the room on the rack, but it was way out of my price range. My mom told Andrea to bring the dress in for me to try on and of course it was amazing. Andrea was very polite and gave my mother and I a minute to discuss the price privately. Needless to say, that's the dress I ended up choosing (yay, mom!) While I was trying on that dress, which was part of a trunk show and no one had tried on yet, the owner came in and commented how nice it looked. She was very sweet, as were the other consultants that would pass through the room. I went back yesterday to pick up the dress and Andrea helped us out again. She was very professional, considering I was basically naked stepping into the dress! She helped me try on petticoats and talked to me about heel height and what type of surface I'd be getting married on. She gave me a nice non-see thru bag and even carried it out to the car for me! OMFG... what an experience. A background note: I live 90 min. away from BE so traveling there is a TREK and somewhat costly. Thus, I scheduled my trips accordingly. First things first, we had an appointment I made specifically because both my mother and my to-be mother-in-law would be there (6 months pre-wedding which I know can be sort of cutting it close but was assured after telling the store I'd be willing to pay for rush). The appointment went swimmingly. The sales woman (I'm sorry I forget her name) was AWESOME. She brought me a ton of gowns and I fell in love with my gown: Enzoani's "Detroit" from his 2011 collection. So we put down the initial payment and await getting the gown. Months later I call only to not get any response. I called again the next day and still nobody answered. Finally, after leaving 2 messages I got a call from the shop to tell me that the dress hadn't come in and they're in discussion with the designer overseas. I'm still ok because we have enough time. Then I'm told by the shop that the designer sent the wrong size (I'm a size 10) and must have mixed up the order so they sent the dress back (this is Dress #1). We're now 1 month before the wedding. I'm sort of starting to freak out because I've made an appointment with one of their recommended tailors and don't know if the dress will be there. The next day BE calls and tells me that Dress #2 is in. THANK GOD. Minor heart attack avoided (temporarily). I go in and get the original fitting for Dress #2. It kinda looks lopsided but the tailor (an angel) says she will definitely fit it right and made an appointment for the second fitting 2 weeks later (1 week before the wedding). My mother (who had to take off work for the appointment) and I drove to my second fitting and found out the worst. Apparently when the tailor turned Dress #2 inside-out she realized the designer must have just let out a much smaller dress and hoped nobody noticed (????). The designer called BE the day before our appointment and told the shop that they need to tell me what's going on and rush the CORRECT dress because she won't pretend this is the right size. Instead of BE doing their job we're told this by the tailor at the time of my appointment which is totally unfair for her to have to deal with my tears and my mom's minor rage. The BE owner came over and let us know that it will get here in time. She's a really nice lady so it was hard for me to be mad at her. Perhaps the worst part was when the BE owner told me that this was actually "good news" because they could have just pretended the wrong dress was the right dress and that they wanted to do "right by me." What? You're defending all these problems by saying "hey at least we didn't defraud you."? Thanks for that. To her and BE's credit Dress #3 DID get to KC a couple days before the wedding, the tailor was a magician and was able to alter the dress quickly and everything worked out. Also, I DO have to reiterate how nice the owner of BE is and that she truly was going through a rough time because of traumatic events entirely out of her control so take this review with a grain of salt. I don't even know where to begin. I've been to other bridal appointments with friends and family, but nothing compared to what I experienced at Bridal Extraordinaire during my VIP appointment. We were greeted at the front desk and promptly escorted to our very own private room. Not only did we have the entire store to ourselves, but there was champagne and a tray full of yummy snacks. My consultant listened to exactly what I was looking for and pulled all the right dresses. It made the decision hard because they were all so beautiful, but eventually said YES to the perfect dress! I already felt so special with all of the attention to detail, but my friends and family who joined me for the appointment could not stop raving about how incredible it was also. My consultant was very nice and I really liked all the dresses she brought me. The prices also seemed good for what I was expecting (she brought me a lot of dresses that were much cheaper than the budget I gave.) The salon is very nicely decorated with a high-end, classy feel. I really liked that we got a private room so my friends/family could see me in the dresses without random strangers staring at me. The only caveat was that I had to change in a tiny curtained area and couldn't see myself in the dress first before showing my family. I would have given 4 stars except that we showed up on time for our appointment, and they made us wait 20- 30 minutes which threw off our schedule for the day. I ultimately decided to purchase my dress elsewhere, but I would recommend this salon to anyone looking for a gown. read more

Again - another sub-par experience at BE. We returned to BE to look at their bridesmaid dresses. They carried one particular dress that we fell in love with online, so we made an appointment. The sales associate provided little help. Once she set up a dressing room for us, she disappeared. As we tried on the dresses, we had questions about sizes, color swatches, fabrics, etc. She occasionally popped her head back in, but she made it very obvious that we were not a priority and that she would only be around every once in a while. I'm confused as to why BE has such a stellar reputation. To me, its only redeeming quality is the price of the bridesmaid dresses. I have mixed emotions regarding BE. I had won a $500 off gift certificate for a dress over $1000 for this boutique. It's really hard to pass that up seeing as how my original price range was about $600. I called a couple weeks ahead of time and made the appointment I also mentioned that I had the gift certificate. They found a time that worked for me since my family was only going to be in town one day. I went with my mother and my little sister to the appt on a Saturday. When we got there we weren't really greeted but I assumed it was because of the busyness of the salon. When we were escorted to the room we walked through two HUGE fitting rooms before being put into our dressing room (read: closet). The room was TINY and HOT!. the only air conditioner in there was a window unit that kept blowing in our faces since the love seat was right in front of it. My mother was instantly offended - she felt that we were put in the room due to fact that we had a gift certificate and would be spending less than some people there. The room was so small I wasnt able to accurately see what the dress looked like while I was moving. I'm taking my chances though. The sales associate though was WONDERFUL, she listened to what I wanted and brought the most perfect dress for me. She also accessorized it perfectly. I can't rave enough about this girl, not only did she listen to what we wanted but she was also a really cool chick. "The one" was the second dress I tried on! Although I'd been told it would take several months to come in, my dress actually arrived in less than a month. The ladies at Bridal Extraordinaire recommended a seamstress for alterations (Tae at Bridal Designs) who did a fantastic job. Ordering my dress and getting it altered we're one of the few stress-free aspects of wedding planning for me! And the dress was beautiful and elegant - just what I wanted! The staff definitely knows their stock - she asked me my budget, my style, things that were a must, and things that were a definite never! It helped our selection so much. You don't walk around and check all the dresses yourself (theres a big back room with all of them like in Say Yes To The Dress in Kleinfeld's), your consultant does that for you and comes back with things that fit everything about you - Style, budget, bling, season, etc. 3. They serve CAKE! From an amazing local bakery a few minutes into the appointment. Pink cake?! Yummy deliciousness, thank you! 4. BYO... Champagne! Totally legal and wonderful! 5. Accessories... hair ties, flowers, shoes, headbands, bracelets, bridesmaids dresses... they have it ALL! I got my shoes from here (certified by NASA for ensured comfort on the big day) as well as hair accents. 6. It's so much less expensive than I thought! I found my dream dress I would have paid billions for, and it was super reasonable! Their alteraitions are SO inexpensive, and they are perfectionists! This place is phenomenal. Loved my experience at Bridal Extraordinaire! Everyone was so friendly and attentive!

I would like to be able and write a positive review but alas, that was not my experience. I went there when I was getting married back in 2008 and had an okay experience shopping for my dress. The service was less than par, the employees VERY rude and carrying an elitest attitude, which made me and my family/friends feel very uncomfortable the entire time. I ended up buying my dress there, with no influence because of my fabulous shopping experience. Fast-forward to 2010: my friend was looking for places to try on dresses. I told her about my experience and she said, "okay well I might check it out. Maybe it has changed." I was hoping that would be the case. All day she was excited to try on dresses and have her own dressing room to do so, and what happens? Rude, pushy, less than enthusiastic sales people. Suffice-it to say, if you want an experience where you can relax and where the employees aren't pushy and rude, then don't go here. Buying a wedding dress is a once in a lifetime experience, and they tend to suck the fun out of it. read more

Bridal Extraordinaire was the first place I went to look for bridal gowns and they made me feel very special and comfortable while we talked through what I was looking for. I wasn't sure on what style I wanted, so they were very patient and helped me narrow down what I liked. They have quite a large selection of designers and the consultants are very knowledgeable. I didn't end up buying my gown on the first day, but did return to try on a few more options and selected my gown! It came in way ahead of schedule. I also decided to have the steam package and would I would definitely recommend this! I bought my veil and hair piece here as well! For my bridesmaid dresses, we ended up booking through a cheaper boutique that a couple of my friend's had used for their weddings. Although my friends had no issues with ordering their bridesmaid dresses through this other boutique, they ended up shutting down and not fulfilling orders about 3 months before my wedding. I called Bridal Extraordinaire right away and they helped save the day by calling their contacts that they had at the designer. The designer did have our bridesmaid dress order, but hadn't been paid. Bridal Extraordinaire helped us get everything straightened out and the dresses were shipped to the store within a week.
