This shop, however, is BY FAR heads and shoulders above the rest. When you walk into this store everything about it screams upscale, chic, modern-yet-vintage boutique. The decor is perfection (and something I always promise I will try to craft for my own home) and the window displays are perfectly styled to give you an idea of the season's trends and the store's offerings. The owners/staff are also the most welcoming, friendly bunch I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. (I can tell you I've walked into Ditto and Clothz Minded several times and never once been told "Hi" or treated like a valued customer. ) And if the initial greeting doesn't sell you-try plucking something off the rack and wait to see how long it takes one of the owners or staff to offer to place your items in a fitting room for you a-la-Free People and other high end boutiques. THAT'S customer service, my friends. As far as some of these negative reviews go-I'd like to remind everyone that one of the most important parts of owning a store like this is knowing your buyer. They can't buy everything you want to sell them-they'd hemorrhage money like crazy if they purchased everything people bring in. If the put forth the money for purchase-they need to know the item is going to have a buyer. I know it's hard to walk into a store, hopeful that you will receive a ton of money for items you no longer want. But unfortunately if you no longer want them you have to realize there's a good chance that others won't either. And it's Revive's job to make that tough decision so when I - as their buyer - go there looking for new fashion finds I'm not slapped in the face with ten year old GAP pieces that were on trend in 2009 or a plethora of forever 21, american eagle and other teeny bopper brands that have no place being in the wardrobe of anyone over 15 (I'm looking at you Ditto. *glare*) And this is why I can't say enough great things about this store. ALL of the clothing I've purchased has been on trend, in perfect condition (sometimes NWT) and sold at MUCH better prices than online retailers or other local consignment stores. I've walked out with Free People and Marc Jacobs for under $10. I've purchased a $1000 limited edition AUTHENTIC Coach bag from them for $350 after discounts. And EVERY time I visit I purchase at least one jewelry item that the owner has specifically purchased a gold and silver version of to sell in the store (if the silver version is out-I've probably gotten there before you. :D) And that says a LOT about this store and the owner's understanding of the fashion industry. As a buyer I feel like this store was MADE for me. Do I like everything they have on the racks? No. Do I walk in every time thinking "Ugh, this is my favorite store and I'm about to do some damage?" Yes. Do yourself a favor and give this shop a try. Don't let the negative reviews fool you-this place is a gem that'd I'd completely miss if I ever left KC. * And in response to the lone review about the replica bag-do homework before ever purchasing something from a brand like Louis Vuitton or Coach that is known to be easily counterfeited. If you are ever unsure and authenticity is of great concern to you-I'd recommend checking out readily available online guides to assist you in your purchase. Fast forward to today: I receive a text message saying my clothes have been processed and I have an offer ready. Excited, I arrive at the store, only to be told that they are looking for fall clothes. They told me to bring my clothes next year. No offer was given. I'm sorry, but it is not good business to tell someone that he/she has an offer ready, only to not receive any money at all. Additionally, there were clothes I brought that, with the right accessories, such as a shrug, could easily be fall clothes because of the colors. At first, I told them to donate my clothes, but after giving it some thought, returned and took them back. I wish the girl yesterday would have told me they are only accepting fall clothes. I would have gone through the box and pulled out the fall pieces right then and there. Instead, I feel like they didn't go through the box in its entirety and my time as a customer was not valuable to them.

Needing a fleece jacket and shirt, I took the opportunity to check it out. First, I found out that it is the original location and building that was an anchor of the Metro North mall. Although it sits alone on a sprawling lot you'd never know it once you were in. The interior is clean and organized. Sadly - though not surprisingly - there weren't many customers and employees were few and far between. However, those we interacted with were friendly, personable, and happy to share their thoughts. I found the men's selection sufficient but I did have to cull through numerous racks. No biggy as I left with the jacket I wanted and a nice enough shirt. As to pricing, most things are marked down from their manufacturer's suggested retail price, so not as pricey as one might expect. The experience left me reminiscent of days gone by when mall shopping was the norm. The only non-punitive deficit is that the escalators were non-functional but I get it. Pro tip: They take Apple Pay! If shopping in a pleasant environment staffed with friendly people and the benefits only available in such a place is appealing, I can highly recommend Macy's. I know I'll be going back.

This was the first (and only) place I tried on dresses. I showed up with a few dresses saved to a Pinterest board to give an idea of kind of what I wanted. My appointment was with Kali and she was awesome! I can't say enough great things about her. She was polite and professional throughout the whole appointment. She let me look at dresses and pick a few out myself to try on. She picked some looks that were different from what I thought I wanted so I could see what they looked like on to help make sure I made the best decision which I appreciated. She recommended someone in my group take pictures of all the dresses as I tried them on. I've heard mixed opinions on doing that but it worked great for me because I could go back and reference pictures of previous dresses I had tried on to compare. I ended up only trying on 5 dresses and fell in love with the third one I tried on. I would have stopped at the 3rd but it was a little snug. After trying on the next 2 I kept going back to the 3rd one and how much I loved it. Kali checked the computer system and was able to locate it in the next size up at the warehouse with a 2 week turn around time. It was meant to be. I also came into my appointment confident I did not want a veil. Once I said yes to the dress Kali encouraged me to try on a veil just to see how it looked with the dress. It really completed the look and I fell in love. I appreciated that she wasn't pushy but encouraged me to give things a chance. Kali made me feel so comfortable and special during the whole process. And my dress came in 3 days early and it like a glove with zero alterations. 100/10 would recommend. read more

I called Stephanie's Sunday afternoon after researching all day to actually find a bridal shop that was open on Sunday. The girl on the phone told me just to come right in. When I walked in, the girl who greeted me (Courtney) asked a few questions about what I liked then told me to look around their sale racks that were located on the floor while she went to grab me other dresses from the back. The shop itself is rather small. There are much more options out front for bridesmaids and other formals like prom, but actual bridal wear was kept in the back where I was not permitted to look. Courtney, though was very friendly and helped me get into a few dresses I couldn't do myself. I actually found a dress I really liked, save for the rhinestone work on the bodice. Unfortunately, their seamstress wasn't in. I wanted to know if it was possible to take off the rhinestone embellishments and replace them with pearls instead. Courtney seemed to think it was possible and that I could 'just go to Joann's and buy the beads I wanted and bring them back for the seamstress.' I'm sorry, but if I'm buying a $1500 gown, I'm not putting Joann Fabric's beads on it. Another con was that I couldn't pick my own dress unless it was on the sale rack. Courtney was quick to point out I could order anything I liked in any of the designers they carried, but of course that requires a purchase before ever even trying on the gown. LOVED my experience here! I had tried on dresses at 3 other places and a friend recommended I check out Stephanie's Bridal. Before my appointment (they got me in the same day I contacted them!) I had been dreaming of wearing a blush pink gown. I had tried several on but hated them and had resigned to having to wear ivory. Andi was my consultant when I got there and we got along great! She listened to what I was interested in and pulled some out of the box dresses for me as well. When I asked if they had pink dresses she said they had 2 and only 1 in my size! It was a gorgeous Maggie Sottero and ended up being my dream dress! I bought the sample they had in stock (all of their samples are in EXCELLENT condition) and they gave me a very good deal! The store is a little on the small side but the selection is great and the dressing rooms are awesome! Nice and spacious! The bridesmaid dress selection is awesome as well! I would ABSOLUTELY recommend Stephanie's to anyone on the hunt for the perfect gown! All of the staff was very friendly, accommodating and patient. I am (admittedly!) a high maintenance bride, and I had a ton of little changes I wanted to make on my difficult-to-alter wedding gown. Add a slit, fix the pleats, add removable straps (for which I had a VERY specific vision), make sure the interior tulle of the dress pulled to the edges so I could properly move and dance, make sure the strapless dress wasn't moving on me one inch, while also making sure I could still breathe and eat... Kendra had the solution for ALL of it. Including so many solve ideas that I would've never thought of. She's clearly an expert in the field of alterations, and she literally said "oh yes absolutely" to every question I had that started with "is there any way to..." FAIRY GODMOTHER. On top of all of that, Kendra has the disposition to calm any high strung bride (or mother) during a potentially stressful part of the process. Her welcoming, kind and "of course we can!" attitude made me so at ease (peaceful, even?), during this process and I cannot state the importance of this enough. Not only that, she made sure the finished product of each adjustment was also up to HER standards, which are high. She was so good that I even had her work on two other wedding looks for me, had her dye my veil to match my dress, and she even helped me adjust my SHOES to my ideal dream look! I mean, what can't she do?! Kendra J - and her sister, who I also worked with in the beginning - are a high-maintenance, type A, dancer & perfectionist bride's dream come true. Cannot recommend them enough with such an important part of such an important time in someone's life.

Well, I am also now a victim…read moreof bad alterations, unfortunately. my dress was on for 15 mins & as I hugged a family member, before the ceremony, the strap separated from my dress. It was held together with a safety pin in order to through the ceremony. I refrained from hugging family and friends all night. As you can see, the broken strap is very noticeable. As the night went on. The back seem near the zipper was separating. And then one of the five point bustle broke. My dress was literally falling apart. We called the seamstress Monday morning. She was only willing to pay for the broken straps. My alterations were $669. Straps, seems and bustles shouldn't fall apart. My heart is broken. The dress was so beautiful and all I can see are the broken areas in all my pictures. Please please please be careful who you choose.

Did see a number of items that caught my eye and may need to return as they were a little more summer fashion leaning--not that I'm any kind of fashion icon-- but I do play one on TV. If you come, parking on busy Broadway can be a challenge but here's my rec: making a real KC kind of experience by parking across the street at Town Topic and dive right into some of their food. Is it possible to really understand this town if you don't ever dine here? I don't think so. You know what they say... never shop on an empty stomach. Highly recommended if you're in the market for a suit, some really cool shoes and a bit of casual wear on the side.

He found the tuxedo he loved and had it tailored by the tailor at Todd's Clothiers. The tailor did a fantastic job, the fitting and measurements were perfect and he had the alterations finished so quickly! I highly recommend going to Todd's Clothiers for any suits and menswear. The quality is so high and the customer service is unmatched.

Altar Bridal Review…read more I had the absolute pleasure of shopping at Altar Bridal for my very first wedding dress shopping experience. Nancy was a kind, thoughtful, and incredibly knowledgable consultant who made me feel so comfortable and beautiful! She listened to what I wanted and made sure to show me plenty of dresses that fit that vision, but she also showed me some gorgeous dresses that were outside of my comfort zone. She explained all of her choices, why she picked them and how she thought they fit my vision or would make me feel and walked me through the details on each one. I knew I wanted to try a little of everything since I had never tried any sort of gowns on before and she delivered! I was able to see myself in a variety of silhouettes and styles, which really helped me narrow it down to the dress of my dreams. It's also worth noting that she was extremely respectful of my budget, which is something I was nervous about with dress shopping in general. I left the appointment feeling confident, beautiful, and so happy. I felt like Nancy was committed to finding me the dress of my dreams, regardless of where I ended up finding it. She was genuinely happy to hear about my second appointment at a different store and told me I'd have a great time. She also let me know that if I ended up wanting to move forward with a dress that I'd tried at Altar, all I would need to do is call and let them know. I never once felt pressured to buy anything from there, which was something I was also worried about with dress shopping in general. Ultimately, my second experience paled in comparison to the one at Altar. At the end of both appointments I knew that a dress I had picked out at Altar was the one for me (coincidentally, it was the very first dress Nancy had me try on, which I think speaks to how well she understood what I was dreaming of!). I called and talked to Sarah, who was also extremely kind and helpful, and told me the dress was mine! Overall, I would definitely recommend Altar Bridal for a wonderful, personal dress shopping experience! Thank you so much to Nancy and Sarah for making it so special!

I bought several things online from their store and I was horribly disappointed with the customer…read moreservice. There was no confirmation of order, no follow up on the 8 attempts to reach them and it arrived 2-1/2 weeks later. The shoes I paid full price for (and pricey) do not fit and now they won't respond to the literally 8 times (email and phone) I have reached out about the return and the window of 5 days to refund them has expired. I am shocked that in this day and age if you are selling online that you consider the sale closed after it ships and simply ignore your customers. Now I am stuck with shoes I can never wear. BTW I never leave bad reviews. I am a person who goes out of my way to compliment places. But in this case I simply have given up. Avoid them -I don't care how awesome the things are they sell...find somewhere else to buy ! she may be sweet in person but a total flake online so she should shut down the online shop. I am totally with Nicole who left same review as worst online experience!!!

She gave me an honest opinion of what my dress was worth and what she would recommend as my bottom dollar. The dresses she had available were GORGEOUS!!!! I wish I had found this place before I had spent all the money I did at Davids Bridal. They were clean and kept neat and tidy in her own wedding closet. This place is a hidden gem guys. If you need to consign or are dress shopping, check Two Hearts out!
