I want to start by saying this boutique was SO cute. We had a group of 5 looking for a wedding dress, however the customer service was very disappointing. We had Payton as a bridal consultant and the bride didn't feel like she was being listened to. She kept suggesting a "path" to stay on and it wasn't what we were looking for. We unfortunately didn't leave a dress. The website has a FAQ and says dresses start at $800 and range to $2800, upon arrival when asked about our budget, we mentioned not wanting to go over $1500, where we were then informed their dresses START at $1500. Some of the sale dresses we tried on had STAINS. Which we understand they're discounted for a reason, however stains shouldn't be acceptable. We just so so wish it worked out but unfortunately the customer service did not make it for a great experience. read more

I stopped by about a month ago when I saw a post of the Taylor Swift items they had. I got the cutest tote for the biggest Swiftie fan I know. It was a huge hit. We purchased my daughter's dream dress with an additional bolero top in 2023. The dress was in her size (8) and fit her with minimal alterations necessary. However, the only size bolero piece was a size 12. The stylist told us at check out that she would order the size 8 bolero top and store it with the dress for the year we paid for. Fast forward to pick up day. We went to pick her dress up two weeks ago, and they did not order the correct size top nor did they have a record of it. They stylist we had was no longer employed at Stephanie's. The stylist who was working the day we picked up the dress was super sweet. She called Stephanie personally and was very kind to us. However, Stephanie refused to order the correct size and would not refund us the amount of the bolero top. So we now have a 4 sizes too big top that we paid over $200 for. Stephanie did nothing to make it right. The shop is super cute and they have beautiful dresses, but make sure you walk out with exactly what you need and don't trust anyone to order anything for you or expect a resolution when they mess up. Their excuse was "well, that stylist no longer works here so we don't know what the truth is." The truth is we would never be ok with a $200 wedding piece that is 4 sizes too large. read more

I bought my wedding dress from Stephanie's last year. Everything about the experience was wonderful. I booked an appointment before hand which was recommended to do. Everyone working was extremely helpful and very nice to work with. Even though the size of the shop appears small, I thought they had a very nice selection of wedding dresses in a range of styles and prices. I think I personally would be overwhelmed going into a David's bridal or something with 1,000 dresses. Plus... it's good to shop local right? Since this was my very first day of dress shopping and very first store, I ended up leaving to go to another shop. They were really sweet and not pushy. I ended up returning the same day to purchase my dress even though I had fully intended on not buying right away. But alas, I fell in love with a Maggie Sottero dress and they got me set up. I believe the payment plan was 50% down and we were able to make payments to pay off the balance of the dress. I used their in-house gal for the fitting and she was WONDERFUL, hilarious and fun to work with, and the fit was an ace. (the dress was a couple sizes too big so there was quite a bit of fabric taken out). I think I ended up spending at least a few hundred on the fittings. Thanks for such a great experience! read more

Let me start by saying MEGAN was the best stylist/consultant I've had during my wedding dress shopping experiences. Not only did she give me adequate time to look for dresses in my very, very low price range but the overall experience was very fun. As soon as you enter the boutique, they have a warm scented candle lit and lights lowered. The atmosphere was very chic and intimate. After finding a couple of dresses, I eventually found what I thought was the one. Apparently Megan does this unique thing where she makes her future brides "walk down the aisle." She turns on ceremony style music, gives you a bouquet and allows you to walk down the aisle in "your" dress. This way you know it's the one. This experience is something that set apart any other boutique or bridal shop I've gone to. I tried my hardest not to cry but a little tear came down. Eventually, I said YES TO THE DRESS! Bigger plus is that Stephanie works with brides and their budgets. I give super big props to this boutique, I am SO happy that we came here. It was more than a bridal shop, it was an experience of a lifetime :) read more

I recently went to Stephanie's for the first time to shop for my daughter's prom dress. We drove 35 minutes to get to this location, we were greeted but then just pointed to a back room and left alone. We found "The One", it was way more than we intended to spend. In fact I have never spent this much on a dress and I have 5 daughters so that is saying a lot. It needed alterations so we went to someone local and of course tried on the dress. As she was pinning, she started showing me stains, LOTS of them. This dress had clearly either been worn before or dragged through muddy puddles. Underneath mostly but quite a few others on the outside layers of puff that this Cinderella dress was. We had not noticed, nor had the workers at Stephanie's who just shoved it in a bag and sent us on our way. I took photos and phoned immediately to see if they could switch this dress out before prom. The people at the store repeatedly just said they are sorry but will not help. I was not asking for a refund, just a dress without stains! Outside tags were still intact just as when we walked out of thier store, still in original bag. They refused even when I asked to speak with management who was out of town. I emailed her, attaching pictures of the damage but never heard from them again. Not even a discount offered for the damaged gown. I am stuck now and cannot dry clean as they say it could take shine out of the dress or make the stains worse. DO NOT SHOP HERE. Horrible customer service and below par clothing. read more

Andi stuck. It. Out. With me! She was a freakin' rockstar! I made an appointment for an hour and ended up spending 3, but she did not abandon or forsake me. She patiently continued to go get dress after dress after she heard my specifications, and she helped me try each of them on. ALSO, the seamstress has gotten bad reviews in the past, but they just hired a new seamstress who is AWESOME! She was honest about likely price of alterations, and also explored options for decreasing the price of the alterations with me. I would TOTALLY recommend this Bridal shop to anyone! They don't try to push anything on you. If you have a budget, tell them. If you hate mermaid style dresses, tell them. If you have a look you ARE going for, tell them. I bought my wedding dress from Stephanie's Bridal in August of 2014 but did not get married until May of 2015. When I went into Stephanie's Bridal I already new the dress that I wanted (found it in Cali) but wanted to buy it here where I live. Back then the store was not what it looks like now and the only person working was Stephanie. She told me that I would be called when my address arrived but I never received the call. When I finally called to check on my order in October the sales associate told me that it had actually arrived in September. Fast forward to March for my dress fittings. The initial fitting went well I told them what I wanted and they seamed to understand. My second fitting I did not have such a pleasant experience. The lady acted like I was bothering her to ask questions and just kept leaving the room asking me if I was done yet. She would not help me get my dress on correctly and just rushed me out. When I went in for my final fitting I just wanted to cry! The hemming was horrible, the cups that were supposed to be sewn into the dress were not done correctly and the only person there willing to help me was the sales associate that was also dealing with all the other customers. I ended up having to sit there and wait till they fixed the cups and the hemming they said they could not do anything about. Although Stephanie is a nice person her tailoring staff is not! I wish now that I would have taken my dress to someone else after I bought it. read more

Wow, I love this place! Let me start by saying I'm from Michigan, and my sister lives in Kansas, so a friend and I traveled to KC to help her pick out a wedding gown and bridesmaid dresses. We booked appointments at four locations, with four different price levels, and very different selections, and this place excelled in every way. My friend and I have both worked in the bridal industry (she in a bridal gown salon, I in cosmetics) so we have a great feel for what's important, and also want that balance of service with just a touch of "I'll let you know when I need you to help me" and they were great at feeling us out and giving us just the right level of help without hovering. What really sets this place apart is the beautiful selection at completely reasonable price points. I don't think there was a dress in there priced over $1200, but there were plenty under $800, and there were so many unique, beautifully-made gowns that you would normally only find in an expensive boutique. We spoke at length with both the owner and several employees and learned that much of the purchasing is split between the owner and another long-term employee, each with very different personal styles, and this really shows. You see a great balance of beautiful, feminine, classic designs and some with just enough of an "edge" to be different. There was no other place in KC that had this selection at this affordable price point. And again, the quality looked and felt wonderful, not like the cheap feeling dresses you can find at that "chain" bridal store. The service was fantastic, the setting beautiful and comfortable, and the people friendly, honest, and real. I really can't say enough great things about this place. We ended up purchasing my sister's gown and 8 bridesmaid dresses and couldn't be happier about our selection. They really made what could have been a stressful purchase a joy. read more

Classy customer service...I think not! Complete disappointment is what my mom left with when she picked up her dress after it was ordered. The dress itself was stunning, but the main lady who helped us never mentioned that the 'floor dresses' they fit you with are stretched out from people trying them on...so when it came time to try on the dress that was ordered into the store it did not fit the same at all. We asked if this dress could be sent back in exchange for a size up and she told us all sales are final and there was nothing she could do. (More like 'would do' because she would have to pay for it and she already had a 'floor model' of that particular dress) BUT! The overly generous lady who helped us said she was do a trade for the 'floor dress' for the BRAND NEW dress my mom ordered into the store, you know at no extra charge. This made me want to laugh. This dress she admitted to being stretch out, but not only that, it was also missing sequins and was DIRTY! When I mentioned the bring dirty part, she was like, 'Oh that, I will have one of my girls spot clean it". Needless to say, I would not recommend this 'boutique' to anyone. Not very pleased with the customer service. 1) I am currently sitting outside of Stephanie's Bridal to pick up my bridesmaids dresses ( Sunday hours 1-5pm) and no one is at the store, no sign to state not open if closed for holiday and no info on website or answering machine to notify customers as well. 2) This Wedding is in less than a week and dresses just arrived Tuesday. Will prob not have time to do alterations. Very disappointed and will be reaching out to the manager. Won't be telling my bride as I don't want to freak her out. Unhappy bridesmaid read more

Customer service was horrible. Went in with my best friend to pick her wedding dress up. Was sweltering hot in the building and no one was there to help. The place was packed and we were treated like we were a hassle. The list continues. The dress was lost, and horrible customer service since the initial fitting. The dress was also 4 months late, and not once did anyone apologize. And if you tell them you don't want to pay for their outrageous alterations, they give an attitude and are not willing to help. I used Stephanie's Bridal for my wedding dress and for our tuxes. They were amazing! I purchased my dress during her sample sale and got my dress at an absolutely STUNNING price. We also got our tuxes at a great price (and loved that we didn't have to pay for shoes unless we wanted them!) The staff is fantastic: helpful, attentive and friendly. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER- I would never recommend this place to anyone- My daughter is having 9 bridesmaids and it has been difficult to find dresses that would work for all of them - so when we did yesterday we were happy. However during our "appointment" - which we scheduled- the lady helping us was pulled away multiple times. My daughter ended up having to write down all the style numbers herself. My aunt was with us and wanted to pay for one of the bridesmaids dresses that day- when we got the register the "manager" was very rude and said "we have never accepted a payment without measurements"- she then took the bridesmaid and right there in front of the store measured her and said her measurements out loud- and NO we were not the only ones in the the store. Then our lady was having problems with the register and the "manager" said to her "just go back and cause problems somewhere else I'll deal with this" at this point we were in a bit of shock at how rude she was. My aunt was a bit appalled by this and said to us, "I think I'm going to want a drink tonight" to which this (so called) manager said - "ha, I'm the one that need a drink". After spending the evening reflecting on this experienced we decided that having those perfect dresses was not worth the poor service and inexcusable rudeness, so we decided to cancel the order. Mind you NONE of the dresses were ordered- the bridesmaids were going to be calling in with deposits, but my aunt wanted her money back. She called, and as luck would have it, got the same manager- when she explained we were canceling due to her rudeness the manager said "I don't need to give you a refund." My aunt said yes you do- nothing was ordered...and they way we were treated and how you treated the other employee was uncalled for and we don't want to give you our business. The manager then replied "I am the manager and I can treat my employees however I want- and you guys were rude yesterday when you were in here" she finally did refund the money, but she sure didn't apologize. To those of you reading this- trust me - you can't make this stuff up! read more

This store has to be the WORST salon EVER!!!!! Andi who is very rude! A female claiming to be Stephanie could have cared less about my complaint. I left SIX messages to speak to someone, no one ever returned my call. I sent an email, no response. They ordered a dress for us that was entirely TOO large!!! And later said that when they recommend what size you should order, that its just a "recommendation" that they are not responsible at all. This place is a joke. When you walk in, its very crowded and extremely unorganized!! The worst salon ever! And being an event planner, I could have sent alot of business her way but I promise you that WILL NOT happen. read more

Stephanie's Bridal is absolutely fantastic! The customer service is top notch. Two people order the dresses so it's the perfect combination of pretty/lacey/beaded dresses and also some that are unique and have a bit of edginess to them. As with any bridal store, I recommend making an appointment so that they can be sure to have staff there to help, and also - give yourself plenty of time to order your dresses so that there are no unexpected surprises. This should help avoid any unnecessary complaints about timelines and customer service. They were super friendly and I was able to stop by ahead of time to glance at the dresses to make sure that I saw the styles that I liked. They have plenty that are very affordable! I was super nervous to start trying on dresses and I can't stress enough what a friendly, comfortable, great experience it was. I went to 3 other bridal shops and this one was by far the best experience of them all. I highly recommend NOT going to Stephanie's Bridal Boutique! My experience looking for a wedding dresses was okay, I found one I liked and decided to get it. What the owner told us and what they tried to do when we paid for the dress was completely different! They tried to over charge and charge us for a service we no longer needed. When my mother asked questions about why she was having to pay that price the OWNER said "I'm not sure why your upset and being rude". When my mom was calm, wasn't cursing and was just seeing why we had to pay extra $99 because they held it ONE day after receiving it because I was told I needed an appointment. We were also told that the owner is too busy for stuff like this. This company's customer service is awful, if I didn't already pay half of the dress when we said 'yes' to the dress then I would have said forget it and walked out. The owner only started being nice once other customers started gathering around. We were in no way being loud or rude and the owner raised her voice and talked to us, the customer as if we were stupid. Whatever you do, save yourself the frustration and embarrassment and go elsewhere. If you look at google they have a TON of the same horrible experiences. read more

Awful business. Don't waste your time. Went here for a fitting for a bridesmaid gown for my cousin's wedding. Everything was fine until it comes time for the dress to actually arrive. When I called to check if my dress had come in (during the week they said it would arrive), I was met with hostility and confusion and told that it wouldn't be there for another week. At the time I was traveling a lot for work and not living in MO, but as it turns out I was coming back the following week anyway and there was still plenty of time until the wedding. So I figured I must have gotten the week wrong, no biggie. I'll come get the dress when I'm back in town and it will all be peachy. The woman on the phone specifically told me that it would be there by Tuesday. I came on Thursday when I got into town and went straight to the shop to pick up my dress. The dress isn't there and AGAIN I am met with hostility when I express my concern. I was not rude. I explained what happened and what was told to me over the phone. They had no clue what was going on and I was told that there was "no way" someone told me my dress would be ready this week as it "hadn't even been that long" since I ordered it. This was 6 weeks after my fitting and had put partial payment down. The situation became even more frustrating when the owner, Stephanie herself, came out and was even more rude and condescending to me than her staff. She actually raised her voice at me and honestly acted kind of psycho. No apology, no attempt to understand what was going on, just arguing. My dress arrived three weeks later. read more

This is by far, the worst experience I've had while planning my daughter's wedding! I went in on May 15th to put a deposit down on 3 bridesmaids dresses, and one dress was paid in full in March. We were told that delivery would be the first week of August. After calling several times after the first of August, to get an update on delivery, we found out two weeks ago that the girl that took my order was fired, and the dresses weren't ordered until the middle of June. We were not contacted at that time re: the late order date, or how it would affect the final delivery date. They finally came in TODAY, and I now have 4 bridesmaids that will have to pay for rush alterations during the busiest wedding season of the year. One of the bridesmaids lives in Springfield, and I have to drive the dress down to her this week, so she can find someone to alter it there. The management didn't seem to really care about this error, or didn't seem to care about the problems they have created for us. The wedding is October 6th, and we now have a month to get these alterations done. read more

I gave them one star only because I can't leave zero star!!! I ordered my wedding gown from them. The dress was gorgeous. When I came in for my first fitting, the tailor told me I couldn't wear any bra with that design, not even a strapless one. I don't have huge boobs so the chest area is kinda loose without any bra, but she will charge extra to adjust the chest area. We agreed that she would tighten the waist area little more when she altered the sides and she would add bra cups to the dress. I went in three times for dress fitting to alter the length, add bustles, and change the sides. On the last appointment, everything looked good and she said the only thing left was to sew bra cups to the dress and I could pick it up. So the receptionist added up all the costs for alteration, including $25 for bra cups, $65 for sides, $160 for bustles, and $165 for hem, which turns to a total of $405 just for alteration. We scheduled my pickup time. My wedding is 8/26/16 and I picked up my dress on 8/25. I didn't try it on when I picked up as I trusted them and all previous alterations were done perfectly. Which turned into the hugest mistake I've ever made. When it's the time to get dressed, I realized that she didn't add any bra cups to the dress!!! It was too late to do anything at that point! The dress is inches away from my chest and it looks horrible. I ended up using clothes tape to tape the dress to my body and had my bridesmaid to buy a pair of adhesive bra. It was a nightmare that the tapes weren't strong enough to hold that heavily beaded gown and they kept popping open all night!! After a couple hours, I realized that I'm allergic to the tape and it made my skin red and itchy. I didn't even get to dance any songs besides the first dance because I was worried that my dress would fall down and my chest would show since the tapes weren't strong enough to hold the dress in place!!!!! I called them at Sunday, 8/28, and told Andy, who is one of the owners, the issue. She said " you can bring your dress in and we can sew the cups for you", for what? My wedding is already over! Then she said" oh, then I'll refund you $25 for the cups". My wedding night was almost ruined because of an unfitted dress and all they can do is offering $25 refund. This is ridiculous! She said " the tailors only worked under our roof, but they are independently contracted. There is nothing we can do. I can give you her number and you can take it up to her". I didn't pay to the tailor directly, but I paid all my money to Stephanie's bridal, actually Andy herself was the one that took my payment for alterations. I spent almost $2000 for the dress including alterations, and now they won't even take any responsibility because the tailors aren't their employees. Make sure to try it on before picking up anything if you're ever going to shop there. They are not trust worthy and they won't take their responsibility to make up for such a disaster!!!!!! read more

When I went into Stephanie's Bridal to look for my dress I had an okay experience, the staff was friendly and helpful. I ended up ordering my wedding dress through them because they had the best price on it in the surrounding area. Today, however, when I went to pick up my wedding dress I did not have nearly the same experience. I was asked if I wanted to try on my wedding dress before taking it home, but did not receive any help with that; the sales associate merely stuck it in the fitting room for me to figure out. Twenty later, once I was in my dress, I was asked if I needed anything. I was alarmed to see that my dress was extremely wrinkled. I was also very disappointed to find out my $1000+ dress did not come with a garment bag and that I would have to purchase one at an additional cost. When the sales associate was putting my dress in the bag she just wadded it up in there. When I got home I found that part of the tulle on my dress was caught on the zipper of the back which caused a tear in my brand new dress. I could somewhat understand the lack of customer service if the salon had been extremely busy, but there was only one other bride in there. I was so excited to go pick up my wedding dress today but I feel as though my dress and I were not treated nicely. read more
