I strongly do not recommend Bridge First Insurance. My experience with them has been frustrating, costly, and revealing of serious gaps in their knowledge and customer care. I had an SR22 filing, a legal requirement that only the insurance company can see--not the customer. In June 2025, I sold my car and canceled the title. I then asked Bridge First to cancel my insurance. They did so without warning me that canceling an active SR22 policy would lead to automatic suspension of my driver's license. The cancellation was processed by Jessica, with no mention of the SR22, no questions asked, and no warning. A simple reminder would have saved me from losing my license, paying $175 in fees, and going through the stress of reinstating my driving privileges. When I called to understand what went wrong, I spoke with Wade, who was dismissive and unhelpful. Instead of assisting, he said it wasn't their responsibility to check my file or remind me about the SR22. Worse, he tried to shift the blame to Progressive, insisting that they--not Bridge First--should have warned me. He also claimed he couldn't discuss the SR22 further unless I showed it to him or got it from the DMV--a clear sign he doesn't understand that SR22 filings are only visible to insurance providers, not consumers. As a result, I wasted another hour on hold with the DMV, only to confirm what Bridge First should have known all along. This is unacceptable. Bridge First Insurance acts as if they are only here to sell policies--not to support or protect their customers. They take no responsibility when things go wrong, and their staff clearly lack basic knowledge about what they're selling. They also refused to continue communication, leaving me to clean up the mess alone. If you're looking for a company that understands insurance and values its customers, look elsewhere. Bridge First will not stand by your side, and their negligence will cost you time, money, and unnecessary stress. They do not deserve the ratings they currently have. read more

As she prepared the quote, she explained to me precisely what I needed, informed me when other agents were suggesting coverage that was way too high for my needs, asked about my specific situation and talked through it with me, and in the end told me I should go with someone else, telling me specifically what I should ask of the other company and why. I learned so much from simply getting a chance to speak with her. I hope that one day I get to work with her--and, in the meantime, I am enjoying the savings and education that her patience and expertise procured for me! We've had Erie's policy for years. When our agent retired, it was at the same time when we sold our house in the same area and moved. Since all our policies were up for renewal, We thought it was a good idea to transfer to a new agency that is closer to our new residence. As in many of my decisions, I relied on Yelp reviews and called Bridge First. Prior to that I called Erie Customer Service and got green light for the policy transfer. When I called Bridge First ( Jack Cordes), I stressed out that one of the policies is expiring in 4 days. He took my contacts, promised to follow up with a test email to make sure he got the infor right , then talk to Erie, and then get back to me promptly. 4 days later nobody called, emailed or returned my voice message. On the last day of about to expire policy I finally got thru ( Wade picked up the phone and said that Jack is having personal emergency but he will get hold of him and get back to me). Again, I highlighted that one of the policies is expiring today. This conversation was in the morning. By 4 pm no one called me back ( they close at 5 pm). When I called, I got a voice mail. Wade finally returned my call and said that they have sent a transfer request to Erie but it will take time and there is nothing Bridge First can help me with in regard to my expiring policy. I asked if my calling Erie directly would help and asked to be honest about the bottleneck - is it Erie's internal processing or they don't want me as a client. I asked if I work the transfer odour with Erie, would they take over my policies ( I also needed to revisit the coverage and liabilities rather than an automatic renewal). He said yes, they would be happy to have me as a client if Erie approves. I call Erie. Erie calls Bridge First and talks to the same person who I spoke to 20 minutes ago. He tells Erie a totally different story - that since Bridge First had problems with transfers of policies in the past, they don't want to take me as a client even if Erie approves the transfer. What I am upset about is not the fact that Bridge First didn't want to deal with my policy transfer. The two stars are for lying to my face and blaming everything on Erie, for not keeping the promise to call me back after checking internally with Erie, for not returning my calls and wasting precious time before expiration date that I could have used to shop for another agency or even another policy. I am not mentioning waste of my time in all these multiple rounds of phone calls. Seems that Bridge First may be good with straight forward cases but terrible in been honest with the clients of exceptional or rare situations. Giving me an impression of being interested and promising to promptly get back to me but then adopting an ostrich tactic of hiding the head in the sand and waiting for the problem to pass by, is simply dishonest. I called their main number to talk to someone about getting a quote for homeowners, auto, and an umbrella policy. The woman that answered the phone was rude and would not transfer me to an agent. When she asked for our current insurance agent, I told her I was not comfortable giving her that information and she hung up on me. read more

(edited, because I was hAngry when writing the original review) I have been with Bridge First / Erie Insurance since August 2014, when I purchased my current car. I have generally been very happy with Jack and the overall response to my first large claim in Fall 2017; the agents were able to process my claim, connect me with a preferred body shop, and handle the paperwork in a timely manner. That said, I'm not entirely sure where Bridge First "ends" and Erie Insurance begins, but a recent claim left me with an ongoing issue.... I tried to contact Jack a few times in March, when I realized that work done on my car in November may have created a tiny air pocket that resulted in a high-pitched whistle while driving at highway speeds. I had initially thought nothing of it, because it's a 2007 car, and the window seal could be dry! But when I got an oil change in ... January? December? ... Toyota couldn't find anything. Then I had a headlight bulb replaced, and the mechanic couldn't find anything wrong with the window, either. At that point he suggested the door may not be seated completely flush to the body, which indicated - aha! - the body work may have pushed something out of whack. By only a millimeter, maybe, but still. So this revelation resulted in my contacting Jack via phone and text. It turns out my text didn't quite make it through, so I was frustrated for a bit (did I mention the high-pitched whiiiiine?!) until Jack contacted me today. Thankfully, Jack is handling this efficiently, and will put me in touch with the proper contact at Erie Insurance. Yay! Momentum! Blargh. So while I am annoyed that a claim from November is still in limbo, Jack and Bridge First are still boss-level service providers. read more
