Yeah, it certainly didn't stand out in my mind, particularly since the beer selection was somewhat limited, but that is generally to be expected when you aren't in the inner city. It's one of those places that I am likely to pass on in the future.

The staff were very friendly and apologetic. Would not recommend. But the beer was cold so I guess that's a positive. Was a shame as I waited quite a while for the meal.

They are in the process of completely revamping the station, though the building certainly won't be going anyway, which is good because I do like it. Mind you, it is quite a shame that there isn't any lockers here.

We were there for a girlfriend get-together and the service and food were great. We had the pork bellies and the seafood fettuccine. Both were perfectly prepared. It's a little pricey, about $40 per place and sides are ordered separately, but for a special night out - worth it!

On the long road between Melbourne and Adelaide, the Deer Park Hotel has stood for many years as…read moreboth a local pub and a last stop watering hole on your way out of the city. Refurbishing in the last few years and sporting a new menu has brought this pub new life. Of course, with the obligatory TAB, pokies machine area and bottle O, a steady trade is always done here. But for me the appeal lies in the history of the venue in Deer Park, and of course the food. You cant really go wrong with pouring a cold beer, so no complaints there. The new menu is pretty good, and they do a parma night for $12.50 on a Tuesday, and a steak night for $15 on a Wednesday. The other thing I like is thtat, the owners are moving the venue forward into the 21st century, and have a fully functioing and easy to use website. Sounds silly, but many local pubs dont have one, and so you just dont know whats happening thereon any given night. I like being able to look it up and see whats on.

Thoroughly enjoyed an overnight stay at the Sovereign Park Motor Inn…read more A last minute booking made it necessary to call the hotel to make reservation for family room. The friendly staff member on night duty were most obliging and was able to provide a most suitable second floor room at a discounted price. The room was very comfortable and included microwave, toaster and tea and coffee making facilities. The room was very clean and had the softest large white towels I have seen in any previous hotel experience. Also available for dining needs are a restaurant and cafe both providing extended service hours. We chose to select from the room service menu and the meals were delivered promptly by very friendly staff. The children loved their ham and pineapple pizza and were delight with the specially created ice-cream desert which came with snakes, smarties and crushed chic mint cookies. The adults selected a pulled pork with spicy barbecue sauce and coleslaw pizza which was perfect with the cab merlot selected from the quite large wine list. The breakfast menu is varied and has some really interesting selections including breakfast fruit crumble. As the children wanted to take full advantage of the beautiful poof we chose a cold breakfast of cereal and bread to toast. The servings of bread were 3 slices and not the usual 2. The pool area is covered and warm in winter. The under water coloured lights create ambiance even in daylight. As well as a main pool area there are additional pools sectioned off and included are a shallower young children's area with water feature spouts and a large spa pool. All in all our stay was wonderful and we will most certainly return!!
