Considered respiratory emergency- Bridgepoint did nothing.

Please file an official complaint with DC Dept of Health & to Medicare about the facility and any individuals that have given you or your loved ones negligent care. Link is below. Please provide any photo, email, and other evidence to support your claim: https://dchealth.dc.gov/sites/default/files/dc/sites/doh/publication/attachments/DOH%20Complaint_Form.pdf Bridgepoint killed my father. He was at Bridgepoint for over a month- he was improving on his own, but when signs of decline began, the nurses dismissed him (and myself) by accusing us of having an anxiety disorder (we do not) and that nothing bad would happen because they made an oath to "do no harm"- yes they actually said this. Finally, he declined to the point that I called a private ambulance to transfer him and the ER immediately suspected his was septic (which he was)- he died less than 8 hours later. My regret is giving these "medical professionals" any shred of trust and I should have had him transferred when I first noticed a decline. The EMT, ER doctors & nurses at the real hospital remind me that it was not my job to notice the emergency- but Bridgepoint's job to do that and they failed him. The saddest part of this is- I was there everyday for my father and that was not the case for many of the patients there. Flies, maggots, a dinner bell for a call bell, my dad's "roommate" fell and when I went to get the LPN- she returned threatening him saying he did it on purpose. The values of this organization is lower than I thought was capable of human beings- and it's from the top down: CEO Kevin Chavez and everyone under him kill people everyday-- and they don't care. They just want that medicare money. **If you're thinking of sending a Love one here because another hospital wants to transfer him/her- SAY NO. You have that right. **If you have a loved one here- Get them transferred ASAP. **And please report this place to the DC Dept of Health, to Medicare, and report any doctors or Nurses as well. This place HAS to change or get shut down before more people are killed.

First order of business - this review is for the Walking Tour of the West Campus, not the Eastern…read moreCampus, which is still a functioning hospital. I signed up for this tour back in March. It was so popular that I was put on the wait list and eventually scheduled for the June tour. It had been so long since I signed up, I'd almost forgotten about it, but my excitement was rekindled quickly. When one tours an abandoned mental hospital, there are certain things one expects to see: rusty surgical implements with bits of drying brain on them, disturbing ramblings carved into the walls by fingernails, doors that slam on their own and you hope you'll get to try some of the left over sodium pentothal. You will not get to do any of these things. You will instead walk around outside and look at boarded up buildings while a tour guide tells you about the exciting things the General Services Administration has planned for the site in 2016. The GSA, being the nation's most mind-numbingly boring government agency, does all it can to strip the interesting bits out of the institution's 150 year history. This facility housed poet Ezra Pound for fifteen years and served as a film set in "A Few Good Men," but instead, most of the tour is dedicated to showing you where the Coast Guard is going to put it's parking lot. I understand that many of the buildings are dangerous and in severe disrepair, but that's what waivers are for. It's a nice campus, but I was quite disappointed about being outside the whole time. I guess I thought it was going to be like a haunted house, which is maybe unrealistic, but they should at least make it clear that the tour is not X-treme. I haven't been this disappointed since I found out that Killer Whales aren't even real whales.

I am sorry the previous reviewer has the experience they had, but labeling the entirity of…read moresoutheast the way she did is both ignorant and irresponsible. (update: luckily her review has since been hidden, not worth the click to read it). Southeast that includes Capital Hill, Eastern Market, Hillcrest, Penn Branch and cute streets around Potomac Ave, to name a few. You have to pay attention to your surroundings in PARTS OF SE, but Congress Heights, or Anacostia, are small slices of southeast, just little neighborhoods. They do not represent Southeast as a whole being such tiny parts of the quadrant. None the less, they are up and coming places with lots of money being put into them. I have never had issues going to either place. Absolutely do not take her advice to avoid Southeast, it is incorrect and you miss a lot of great sites and historical neighborhoods. The tour itself was heavy on words and light on site seeing or walking. I would have expected to see the inside of some building in those two hours. But we kind of walked, stopped, repeat about four or five times. If you don't have tons of obscure questions, it might be a little boring. But if you wander just a bit, (not too much to avoid getting in trouble) you can see some interesting architecture. It is a little eery around here, are the vibes I got.

My first impression was good, nice hospital, still has people who always have to be rowdy. I noticed that they had TV screens to let you know when other EMTs arrive, how many people are in the waiting room, who has been processed, and who has been placed in an ER room. The front desk took my information from the EMT, and I was put in the ER room at 4:12 pm. The nurses were great, and everyone who did tests was great as well. I was admitted and was in my own private room around 1:00 am, which is a record for me when being admitted to the hospital. I was told that this hospital was not good, but once you stay there and checked out the services, I didn't have too much of an issue until I had a nurse who was rude and disrespectful. Don't want to go into details, but when the patient tells you something, then you should listen. I can tell you that she needs to brush up on taking blood and not talk so much. The nurse had someone else come and take the blood, and all she was worried about was the person's age. Later during the day, I found out he was a nurse as well. It's shocking that this hospital even exists. I used to come to this area with my mom (R.I.P.) to her job at St. Elizabeth Hospital, and a lot has changed.

I was left in the emergency room for over six hours crying in agony. No one never came to check on me or gave me any services. After waiting several hours, I took an Uber to another hospital because the severity of my pain was getting worse. Fast forward to 2026. I just received a bill in the mail for services I never received. This is outrageous. They won't give you services but will send you a bill.
