Turns out that I was referred to the wrong office by the people in suite 201. Manager Derrick called me 30 minutes after I've been seeing the wrong doctor to see if I was coming in. Told him of the situation and he said I should have been seeing Dr. Neal's instead of Dr. Baum. But he reassured me that both are great in their profession and that if something did come up in my examination with Dr. Baum, I could simply walk up to the 3rd floor to see Dr. Neal's. Everyone I met today despite the confusion was very amiable and accomodating. The people at the front desk of the WRONG office I went to helped me with the paperwork and prioritized me based on my alibi. Everyone in the building seems to communicate very quickly with one another. Dr. Neal's sought me out personally after hearing of the situation and reassured me that if Dr. Baum found any abnormalities he would see me as soon as possible on the third floor. Following a stroke in 2009,…read moreI was referred to "Dr. G" by my primary care physician, I was away in Florida when the stroke occurred, so I was amazed when Dr. G. assured me that she would find the cause of the stroke (I had doubts, after all, 8 days had passed already)! Dr. G. ordered a TEE test and determined the stroke was to to a PFO (a small bypass hole in my heart that had not closed since birth and allowed a small clot to enter my brain). Following her direction, I was sent to a surgeon who was able to close the PFO with a device, called an Amplatzer, in order to prevent a clot from causing another stroke. Since that time, I have had routine follow-up appointments to monitor my progress to recovery. Dr.G is very popular, but her time and advice has made my life to recovery very happy.

I chose this practice based on great reviews, which made my actual experience even more…read moredisappointing. I was a patient here for several weeks of neurological follow-up care and would not recommend this practice. Appointments felt rushed and impersonal, more like being moved through a checklist of tests than receiving actual medical review. It didn't feel like my records or imaging were reviewed closely before visits. On more than one occasion, I was told things about my results and condition that simply weren't accurate compared to what the actual reports showed -- whether that came from guessing, not reviewing the records, or something else, I can't say, but it wasn't reliable information. One report's clinical interpretation section was also left completely blank. Equipment issues added to the frustration -- testing machines broke down or malfunctioned during my visits, requiring restarts and delays without much explanation, which left me questioning the reliability of some of my results. If you ask questions or disagree with the assessment you're given, be prepared to be met with frustration and fear-based responses rather than an actual conversation. It didn't feel like I was allowed to think critically about or understand my own health -- it felt more like being dictated to than partnered with. Communication was frequently alarming and delivered without much nuance or context, which added unnecessary fear to an already difficult time, rather than the clear, evidence-based guidance I was hoping for. There was also a heavy presence of interns/students in and out of exam rooms, and the office itself felt disorganized and cluttered -- food left out in patient areas, unrelated promotional materials in the waiting area, and a general sense of a high-volume operation rather than a place built around careful, individualized care. Maybe this approach works for some patients, and if it does, I'm genuinely glad. But I've been fortunate to have excellent physicians throughout my life who actually cared, listened, and practiced in the spirit of the Hippocratic oath -- and this was not that. What I needed was a doctor who genuinely understood my situation and treated me with real care, not one who seemed to rely on fear to keep patients coming back. I ultimately sought a second opinion elsewhere and would encourage anyone considering this practice to do the same before committing to ongoing care here.
