We had our breakfast (cooked exactly as we wanted) in the Sun room and chatted with fellow guests from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. When done with breakfast, Raquel and Juan joined us in the sun room where we chatted about all sorts of things. I couldn't have felt more at home anywhere else. Here are a few of the reasons that I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Manheim Manor: -Todd & Lorene: These two are truly some of the most gracious hosts you could ask for. In addition to just genuinely being nice and thoughtful people, they are also full of history about the home, the area around Lancaster, and more. When more guests were coming in the other nights and parking was getting tight, Todd called me to let me know a special place I could park in the back of the house. They are engaging conversationalists and make it a pleasure to stay here. I had mentioned to them that I was a cyclist and hoped to find some nearby biked trails, so Lorene printed out trail maps for me that I ended up using the next day to go on a ride. -The room: I stayed in the Peaches & Cream room, which has a great screened-in patio that made for a wonderful place to sit outside and read in the evenings. This was really one of the selling points for me as I wanted to stay somewhere where I had some private outdoor space, and this fit the bill. The rooms at the Manor aren't huge, but that was totally fine as I didn't have that many things with me anyway. The bed was quite comfortable as well, and despite the traditional nature of the home, they also had a Roku for streaming, which I ended up using one evening for Hulu. -The house and history: Built in the late 19thcentury, Manheim Manor is an exercise in historical exploration, in the best way. There is a downstairs library with a great collection of books ranging from Shakespeare to mystery books that I read as a kid (Nancy Drew, anyone?). There's an upstairs library of VCR tapes that brought back memories from just looking at the covers. Lorene took me on a tour of the house and showed me a variety of interesting historical points in its various rooms. The property also features a great outdoor seating area in the backyard. -The food: This is really a high point! In addition to being an innkeeper, apparently a great handyman, and many other things, Todd is also a refined chef and makes culinary creations that wow people every day. From the blueberry pancakes to the orange scones to the broccoli and cheese quiche...wow! Having been very fortunate to have visited many a highly regarded restaurant across the world, I can easily say that Todd's breakfast rivals some of the best morning means I've had in Paris, Tokyo, and beyond. There is also a great collection of tea and many other things that make breakfast at Manheim Manor the best part of waking up. Now for the bad...I don't have anything to say. I always try to have one point that's not overly positive so that my reviews seem more "real," but I honestly can't think of anything that isn't glowing to say about my stay. Lorene and Todd are wonderful, and all the other guests I met during my stay were friendly and neighborly as well. I have no doubt that upon my next visit to the area, I'll stay here again.

The homemade breakfast is prepared by Rosalie, and we could tell immediately that she loved her work. The snacks and beverages are convenient as well. The in-home theater with many films to choose from is a terrific night inside. However, with Hershey Park, the Hershey factory, the Hershey Bears minor league hockey team and concerts at these venues only 20 minutes away, you may need your rest. The pool is open 24/7 and the gardens were planned and laid out by Rosalie and Craig. I would rate this B 7 B six stars if I could!

The Annville Inn isn't just a B&B, it is darn near a resort. With a spacious home theater, a game/billiards room, a 4 seasons room, a sparkling clean pool and plenty of grounds to explore, we've not left the property during our whole stay. The Innkeepers Rosalie and Craig are detail oriented and customer focused. During the COVID 19 pandemic, their attention to sanitizing spaces is a step above other establishments. Masks are always worn around guests, guests wear masks in common spaces, visits to the theater are spaced out to allow cleaning in between movie sittings, I feel very safe and secure here. Our first 2 nights were in the Country Comfort room. While it is on the smaller side of their rooms (The Mardi Gras is the smallest) it was sufficient for our needs. The tile shower is a bit larger than a corner shower, but the water pressure was lacking from the fireplace. The bedding is soft, but the queen sized bed is bouncy and squeaky, so if you have a restless sleeper, this may jostle you. Our one recommendation to the innkeepers on this room: Blackout curtains would help here. The blinds aren't sufficient to block out the light in the early morning, or for an afternoon nap. That is ok though, we brought masks. After the first two nights we've transferred to the highest end of their 5 rooms, the Manor Suite...and we don't regret the choice at all! Cleverly decorated with a phone booth door outside the actual bedroom door, it is like stepping into the Tardis and discovering the room is much bigger on the inside. The whirlpool tub is amazing with a heat exchange that keeps your water the same temperature the whole time, it was heaven. The king sized bed is quiet and comfortable, with a skylight above the bed for star gazing if you would like. The decor is elegant with chandeliers (on dimmer switches) and murals to make the space feel luxurious. A private entrance/balcony looks over their romance garden, and it is a great morning spot for a cup of tea. We made use of the theater multiple times, and free snacks and drinks are available here, so we enjoyed popcorn one night, and a picnic lunch and afternoon movie the next day. During the pandemic, theaters are NOT a go-to for us, so this private setting was ideal. The game room has a clean, well maintained pool table, a variety of games, and a computer for those who need to check their email. It is a great spot for a hand of cards, or sitting to read a good book. One of our favorite rooms was the 4 season room. Surrounded with lush plants, we were allowed to reserve a table just for our use, and spent hours working on puzzles together. The doors slide aside to allow gentle breezes through the room, and on less humid days, it was a great way to beat the heat of the day. The customer service here is impeccable, and frankly I don't know how the innkeepers do it. They hire some extra hands for cleaning help and gardening, but the guest interactions are one on one. Craig is always ready with a groan-worthy but well intentioned "Dad joke", while also being a wealth of knowledge about plants and property maintenance. Rosalie is a great cook, a gracious host and has a seemingly endless amount of energy. We will absolutely be coming back here. Out of all of the bed and breakfasts I've been to, this is 1000% top of the list. I'm blown away.

I expect this from a five star location, but not the Carsonville hotel. A table of five adults with two kids were seated shortly after we were taken care of. They had the same server as we did. We had placed our food order as we were going to share a steak tenderloin salad, and their buffalo chicken nachos. Nachos were lukewarm at best as well as the tenderloin on my salad. Once our server finally came back by we had to send the nachos back to be reheated and they really weren't all that great. Had to literally track down our server just to get a refill of a soda. Lousy service abs the food was subpar at best Won't be back. To add insult to injury the large party that was seated shortly after we were ordered their big jumbo wings and their orders were up in minutes while we were still waiting for ours.

Wife and I along with her cousins were passing through this area to attend a wedding at a nearby venue, we needed to spend the night some place not far from the venue and not expensive. Luckily wife's cousins found this little spot and it was a nice find. First let me tell you that this is not some fancy schmancy froufee froufee resort spa, it is clean but bare basics, which suited us just fine. Don't expect the Four Seasons here it is what it is and should be valued at that level. Booking and check in was a breeze all done over the Interwebs no need for a key just a code and whala the doors open like magic. Inside you will find at least in our two tiny rooms; a bed, one bedside night stand, a TV, a small micro wave and small fridge.... ohh and a chair. That's about it but I see that they have larger rooms and apartments complete with kitchenettes for those who are staying a while longer. This property only has 17 rooms and is privately owned and operated. As I mentioned before our rooms were very clean and the surrounding property appeared to be well maintained. They don't have a restaurant or anything like that but close by you can find plenty of places for a fast meal just get out and explore the area. It is a nice little spot for road weary travelers but I have a couple of well intended suggestions to make it a little better for the smaller rooms like ours at 103. One is the need for some sort of wall mounted shelf with hangers for clothing since there is no room for closet or armoire. Also a small table or at least a folding TV table that would help one settle in a little better and to accompany the microwave and fridge for a quick dine in meal. Also a folding luggage rack would make living out of a suitcase a little easier instead of having to operate on the floor. The bathroom had on a bar of soap nothing else but I travel well prepared for many situations. The water pressure was a little weak when needing to flush but not an major issue probably a quick fix by turning up the valve. You will hear road noise if facing the road but it is a road less traveled and not bad at all. You might have a noisy neighbor who smokes a lot out side but that can happen anywhere. The only major complaint I have and like I said I don't need a lot of gimmicks but I do need a nice firm mattress. Ours was not, it felt like we were laying on a overly soft marshmallow sinking to the middle down a deep hole. I woke up in the middle of the night with my back killing me. I had to use the firm pillows (they give you four two on each side) under my back just to get back to sleep. Wife likes a soft mattress but this was way too soft even for her. The next day her cousins also complained of the uber soft sinking to the floor mattress so it wasn't just me. So if management can address the mattress issues with rooms 102 and 103 I think all will be fine. So I give this nice little place a 3.75 out of 5 stars because of the mattress issue. A good night's comfortable rest is very important. So if you are ever up that way and need a stay that doesn't cost an arm and a leg I recommend it just be sure to put a pillow under your back and they'll keep a light on for you.

During COVID, we liked that our room had its own exterior door & that we could eat breakfast in our room. Our room was beautiful & decorated in floral lavender. The bed was comfortable & the fireplace made it very cozy during a very cold & snowy weekend. The inn & grounds were also gorgeous & well kept. We would like to be able to explore more of the inn's common areas when we return post COVID. We LOVED the breakfast. It was unique and absolutely delicious! The blueberry breakfast cake is something you should not miss! We also took advantage of the couple's massage at the in-house spa. It was professional, relaxing, & exceptionally well done. Karen & her family are friendly inn keepers & we look forward to our next getaway with them!

The one we booked apparently had "maintenance issues", so we were placed in another room that we really weren't happy with. While it was functionally fine, it looked like it was straight out of a Golden Girls episode, and really wasn't what we wanted at all. We checked the refrigerator in the room and discovered that the previous occupant's leftovers were still there. There was also a dirty sock under the bed. Not even way under, I just bent down and saw it. It was also $25 cheaper than the room we booked, but we weren't refunded the difference. We really should've been informed beforehand that the room we booked wasn't available so we could make other plans. At the very least, we should've been refunded the difference between the room we booked and the one we ended up with. On to breakfast.... Unfortunately, it was nothing memorable. Fruit, a small cup of eggs and ham that my husband said tasted odd. French toast that was doused in sugary strawberry syrup. After we left we got breakfast at a diner nearby, which we DID enjoy. So overall, not a great experience. I think we would have enjoyed our stay a whole lot more if we'd actually been able to stay in the room we booked, but as it stands now, we probably won't be going back to the Berry Patch.

We stayed at this campground and the vibe just felt like we were in their way rather than respected guests. They threw away something that belonged to us. A couple of the front desk ladies were awesome. A couple of the store ladies were clearly irritated and not welcoming. It's clean. The shade trees are nice. One site was very level. The second one wasn't . The location is decent & easy to get to. It's just...so mediocre for an "attraction." Sorry for the mixed bag review. It's just that it really is a mixed bag campground in and of itself.
