I have only seen 2 of the guest rooms so far but both are lovely! I am staying in the Bella which is the bridal suite. It is gorgeous & has an enclosed sleeping porch, now the sitting room. The furnishings are so cute and the bed is super comfy!! I slept like a baby last night which rarely happens if I am staying at a chain hotel. I love the claw foot bathtub, which also has a shower in case you don't have time for a nice relaxing bath. I also love the toiletries they stock in the bathroom. The shampoo, conditioner, body wash & lody lotion all smell fabulous! They also include other essentials like makeup remover wipes, shower cap, etc. They even have some bath salts that smell fabulous if you have time to enjoy a nice bath. Unfortunately this trip is for business so, I havent had much relaxation time. Also, my hubby could not join me this time due to his work, but we will definitely have to come back on a weekend to enjoy this wonderful place together. Since I had to be at my client site at 7:00 AM, I did not get to enjoy the full sit down breakfast this morning but Teresa & Craig packed me a nice go-to b-fast bag packed with all sorts of goodies including juice, bagel with cream cheese, a banana, and a delish Kind bar & even put a nice go-to coffee cup out for me so that I could take my coffee on the road. Also, I must say in this day & age I am very concerned about cleanliness at the big chain hotels and this place is immaculate! I have already booked some return trips as I am working on a project in the area for the next several weeks. I am sooo glad I found this place and would highly recommend it! While making my way here I was a little worried but 10 seconds after meeting the innkeeper I was so glad I booked here. The inn is a beautiful, restored turn of the century home with huge magnolia trees on either side. The innkeepers take care of you and will accomodate any dietary or schedule needs you may have. If you are a light sleeper, use the provided earplugs to avoid getting woken up by the occasional train passing through at night. It didn't bother me at all. A comfortable room, a free upgrade, delicious breakfasts, and friendly, attentive service made for a very enjoyable stay. Looks like a nice spot for weddings and other events, too. Highly reccomended!

But everything else was a solid 3. Nothing wrong with it at all... But, I was underwhelmed based on my previous experiences. When we checked in, the host was fine. The room was fine. The bathroom did leave some things to be desired. There was not a good place to put your toiletries. We also had to climb into a very deep bathtub to get to the shower... If you are clumsy, like me, you may walk away with a couple of bruises. The house itself was very pretty, and was decorated in a manner appropriate for the property. I would've liked to seen some warm blanket to sit out on the patio with, board games, or puzzles to pass the time. There was only one sofa, and it was not in a cozy little nook where you would want to hang out. The food was fine. The menu is heavy on carbs and sweet breakfast treats. They were executed well enough. But there was not any particular breakfast that knocked my socks off. Again it was fine. The location was very convenient to downtown Asheville. It would be a two minute drive or a 10 minute walk to downtown Asheville. This bed-and-breakfast did not appear to be owned and operated by the hosts, rather an absentee corporation or business. I think that made the difference. Everything was fine, but it didn't have that touch of home that you expect when you stay at a bed and breakfast. For example, when we wanted to use the television, and needed some assistance, when we called the number that was left, the call was blocked. On a whim , we texted Fortunately, they responded right away. But ultimately, after 6 PM you are on your own in terms of staffing. Overall, I can recommend Beaufort House, but I think next time I will try something different.

However, I was expecting this to be a special and elegant experience and it was not. When we arrived during the specific check in time the door was locked and no one was in the front office. It turns out they were showing someone else to their room but we didn't know that. We just stood out on the porch not knowing what to do until someone finally came to the door. There's no reason they couldn't have the front door unlocked during the limited window of check in time. The person who showed us around said there would be "heavy continental breakfast ". However, it turned out the breakfast was probably the very absolute minimum they could provide and still call it breakfast. It was very disappointing. If I'm not mistaken it was only available from 8:30 until 9:30 or something very limited like that. Finally, there was no lotion in our bathroom, only shampoo, conditioner, and hand soap. I would stay there again but I would have to weigh the options of amenities and prices of other hotels. A regular mid price hotel has more amenities than what was offered when we stayed.

I absolutely loved seeing the filming spots, I even bought a t-shirt to remember this day! Talking to one of the employees, he said most of their visitors are Hunger Games fans. While I give this spot 5 stars for checking the "once in a lifetime" box, I really wish they would preserve this place a bit more. Katniss' house (building #16) was home to miscellaneous christmas decorations, random tools, and a birds nest. Also, it was so dark in there we had to get a flashlight out of our car. Genuinely, I would have loved to see this house as a close to movie accurate as possible, or even decorated with photos from the film featuring the location. I think this house would have been awesome as a mini museum (with replicated furniture, not actual movie pieces of course). I think this would bring in a lot of fans and spark up a lot of social media tourism with the new movie coming out. Now is the time! Again, absolutely awesome to see for any Hunger Games fan.

To start, Greek yogurt with honey, fresh diced fruit (apples & oranges), and warm zucchini bread. Followed by a vegetable omelette, sliced strawberries, roasted potatoes and tomatoes. Seasoned to taste, appetizing and filling. Drink options varied from coffee, tea and juices. Every place we've rented has been nice but never great enough to get us to come back for a repeat visit. Those days of bouncing around are over! Now that we've experience the Chestnut Street Inn and Emilie & Arturo's hospitality, we will never stay anywhere else. The Inn is perfectly located, just a short walk and even shorter drive/uber to downtown. The room we stayed in was adorable and super comfy. We loved the furnishings, soft sheets and towels on the bed, etc. But, the in-room gas fireplace was by far my favorite amenity -- I found myself not even wanting to venture out but rather sit in the room warming my feet by the fire. (Don't worry though, we went out!) Throughout our stay, it was fun to discover all the hidden treats in the common areas. There were homemade cookies and chocolate in every nook and cranny of the place! Breakfast was amazing and prepared fresh each morning. Lots of helpful info way of pamphlets and brochures are all over the Inn but if you need any advice, I'd encourage you to just chat with Emilie. She had lots of great suggestions on where to go and what to do and seemed to genuinely love the area. We're looking forward to our next visit!
