Unfortunately, my scheduled nerve ablation procedure was rescheduled TWICE in a short period. The first time was due to over-scheduling by the office, and the second because the doctor was going out of town. These last-minute changes caused significant disruption to my pain relief plan and daily functioning, leaving me in prolonged discomfort without adequate support or alternatives offered. What stood out most was the lack of empathy or accountability. No one seemed to recognize how these delays affect someone living with constant pain, and communication felt dismissive rather than professional. After the second cancellation, I lost confidence in the practice's reliability and decided to seek care elsewhere. If you're dealing with serious chronic pain and need dependable procedures and compassionate care, I would recommend looking for a different provider. Timely access and understanding matter greatly in this field.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRACTICE!…read more THIS OFFICE MISCOMMUNICATION COST ME OVER $103! I had an epidural last March. At checkout following the visit with the doctor in February, I was given a prescription (and no other instructions) for very specific bloodwork which I was told the Dr. needed to be done prior to the procedure. It was done at my usual lab, which is Quest. Imagine my surprise when I received a bill for $103.81 for the bloodwork, and believed it was an error. Thankfully, Quest has put a hold on the balance, giving me time to try to resolve this matter. I've been calling AOSMI for 3.5 months and each time spoke to a different person. Some said that a letter of medical necessity would be submitted. (It wasn't, but now I'm told this doesn't make a difference.) Each time, I was told that someone named Nicole would call me back. That didn't happen. I have detailed notes on each call. Finally, 2 weeks ago, I began speaking to the manager. We went back and forth several times, and I was optimistic that this would be resolved. She was surprised that I didn't go to CentraState for pre-admission testing, where it seemingly would have been covered. I told her I was not advised by anyone to do this. Recently, the manager said we're at the end of the line since the calls when I was given instructions by the procedure coordinator are too old for her to access the recordings. They were from March. To me this made no sense, as I was given the bloodwork Rx in person, as I was leaving the office in February. (As an aside, what office doesn't keep recording of phone conversations for longer?) Hide trimmed content This is not my first rodeo with epidurals. As someone with chronic back issues, I've received many over the past few decades and they were given by 2 different, highly respected pain management doctors where I used to live. There was never any pre-admission testing or bloodwork needed. In fact, my husband receives epidurals currently with another local practice, and none of this is needed there, either. Why would I even think pre-admission testing would be needed for an epidural injection, which is done outpatient?! And, if it was needed, why would the doctor do the procedure without it?! (He did) There's been a lot of double-talk during my 18 months with this practice, but this was the most egregious. I've spent many hours on the phone with AOSMI during a dozen+ calls since receiving the lab bill. Now I'm also out the cost of the bloodwork, and I don't have an extra $103.81 to drop on it. Shame on AOSMI!

However, as soon as he saw that surgery was not indicated, he gave me 5 minutes of his time, and wouldn't answer any questions because "he had many other patients waiting." After the 5 minute visit, he then billed medicare for a 25 min visit. In addition, the office told me that they were in network for my insurance, which was not true. So I received a bill that I should not have received. As far as the medical care, I now have more pain than I started with. I think the injection that the dr gave me caused a problem that I now have to pursue. Stay away from this Doctor and this office!!!!!

I ruptured my Achilles tendon playing softball in 2012, I went to Centra State emergency room and Dr. Gerardo Goldberger was the Dr. on staff. He took one look at my Achilles tendon and knew it was ruptured. My wife and I asked immediately ask about our insurance. Were we covered? It was a Sunday afternoon and we could not get in touch with our provider. Dr. Goldberger was an out of network doctor. He assured us, with our 2 young girls present that it was considered emergency surgery and 100% covered by insurance, so I had the surgery at 8pm Sunday night. A few days later we went to Dr. Goldberger's office for a check up, we once again asked his receptionist out front who took all of our information, were we going to be responsible for any of the surgery bill, her response was they take up to 85% if insurance did not cover 100% of the bill. They do not balance bill. 3 years later, I go to purchase a new car, no need to run my credit prior. I have a $2438 collections account on my credit from Revenue Recovery Corp. from Knoxville TN. so I call them, they tell me its from Advanced Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Institute ( Dr. Gerardo Goldberger's office). I had never once received any letters about this. Talk about flat out liars trying to pull a fast one on injured clients. You expect a Dr. to tell you the truth. He lied to my face, my wives face and my 2 young daughters. I have called his office several times to have this resolved, no one will call me back. THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU AGREE TO HAVE A DOCTOR TREAT YOU, IT COULD COST YOU A LOT MORE THEN YOU THINK! My credit has suffered now and I now have to pay higher interest rates because of a Dr. who lied to me. DO NOT use Dr. Gerardo Goldberger, he and his staff will lie to you to make more $$$$. I guess that is how he can go all over the world doing triathlon's, lying to his patients. Brian - 732-501-4464
