I was a patient at Advanced orthopedic sports medicine Institute under Dr Valimahomed for chronic…read morepain management. Unfortunately, my scheduled nerve ablation procedure was rescheduled TWICE in a short period. The first time was due to over-scheduling by the office, and the second because the doctor was going out of town. These last-minute changes caused significant disruption to my pain relief plan and daily functioning, leaving me in prolonged discomfort without adequate support or alternatives offered. What stood out most was the lack of empathy or accountability. No one seemed to recognize how these delays affect someone living with constant pain, and communication felt dismissive rather than professional. After the second cancellation, I lost confidence in the practice's reliability and decided to seek care elsewhere. If you're dealing with serious chronic pain and need dependable procedures and compassionate care, I would recommend looking for a different provider. Timely access and understanding matter greatly in this field.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRACTICE!…read more THIS OFFICE MISCOMMUNICATION COST ME OVER $103! I had an epidural last March. At checkout following the visit with the doctor in February, I was given a prescription (and no other instructions) for very specific bloodwork which I was told the Dr. needed to be done prior to the procedure. It was done at my usual lab, which is Quest. Imagine my surprise when I received a bill for $103.81 for the bloodwork, and believed it was an error. Thankfully, Quest has put a hold on the balance, giving me time to try to resolve this matter. I've been calling AOSMI for 3.5 months and each time spoke to a different person. Some said that a letter of medical necessity would be submitted. (It wasn't, but now I'm told this doesn't make a difference.) Each time, I was told that someone named Nicole would call me back. That didn't happen. I have detailed notes on each call. Finally, 2 weeks ago, I began speaking to the manager. We went back and forth several times, and I was optimistic that this would be resolved. She was surprised that I didn't go to CentraState for pre-admission testing, where it seemingly would have been covered. I told her I was not advised by anyone to do this. Recently, the manager said we're at the end of the line since the calls when I was given instructions by the procedure coordinator are too old for her to access the recordings. They were from March. To me this made no sense, as I was given the bloodwork Rx in person, as I was leaving the office in February. (As an aside, what office doesn't keep recording of phone conversations for longer?) Hide trimmed content This is not my first rodeo with epidurals. As someone with chronic back issues, I've received many over the past few decades and they were given by 2 different, highly respected pain management doctors where I used to live. There was never any pre-admission testing or bloodwork needed. In fact, my husband receives epidurals currently with another local practice, and none of this is needed there, either. Why would I even think pre-admission testing would be needed for an epidural injection, which is done outpatient?! And, if it was needed, why would the doctor do the procedure without it?! (He did) There's been a lot of double-talk during my 18 months with this practice, but this was the most egregious. I've spent many hours on the phone with AOSMI during a dozen+ calls since receiving the lab bill. Now I'm also out the cost of the bloodwork, and I don't have an extra $103.81 to drop on it. Shame on AOSMI!

I…read morethen received an email that appeared to be directly from the doctor (his personal gmail) saying out-of-state Telehealth is no longer covered by insurance, but they will make the appointment after I pay $250 upfront via Zelle or Venmo. In my initial request I did not provide any insurance information so I wasn't sure why I was told this. I also contacted my insurance carrier who told it was definitely covered with a minimal copay. I contacted the office and was told to 'ignore those email' and she would have the doctor contact me as the office staff is unable to schedule his Telehealth appts and he does this himself. I then received another email, copy and pasted from the first one! I honestly didn't know what to think as I have never had a medical practice communicate in this manner. Are Zelle and Venmo used by medical practices for payment? I am a member of a FB page for conditions of the hand - this was where I first heard of this practice. I posted my experience there, asking if anyone else had this happen. I did get a few responses of similar experiences. I then get a phone call from the office telling me to take down the post as it makes them look bad! She said a patient saw it and told her about it. Wow, that was fast! The post was up about 10 min and a patient already called the office and sent her screenshots of my post? I think it was more likely she monitors the FB page. My post was nothing but factual information and a request to the page members if they had the same thing happen. She said she would have the doctor call me after the post was removed but it may affect my relationship with him?? She ended up being the one who called me back AFTER I deleted the FB post, and said she could now suddenly make the Telehealth appointment for me. The whole process just seemed very odd. I ended up cancelling the appointment.

I don't think their job is to provide stand up comedy for the patients but to run a medical office. I have no knowledge of the 2 poster's negative complaints so I cannot refute them BUT this office has been perfect in it's delivery of medical services to me over a number of years.

This is almost unheard of these days. I shout out to you, Thank You! Warmest Regards, Frances
