I've seen more therapists in my life than I can count, and Rodney is, by far, better than all of them combined. He TRULY CARES about his patients, and, unlike other therapists I've seen, he's proactive in his care. He's willing to contact my other doctors in order to ensure that I'm receiving the best care that I can. Like many therapists, there's limits to what he, personally, can do. He cannot prescribe medications, as that's beyond the capacity of his licensing. Yet, he's been the only professional willing to reach out to, and coordinate care with the doctors I have, that can. He's professional with his approach, and appropriately responds to my emotional state accordingly. But he's also able to incorporate humor into our sessions, unlike any other therapist I've ever seen. The saying that "laughter is the best medicine" could be his unofficial motto. He can take me from tears to laughter faster than the fastest car ever built. Faster than an express train. Faster than freakin' SUPERMAN! I'm sure he'll approach each individual client, and each couple as their needs require. But I personally appreciate his knack for humor, as I can tend to ruminate on the negative things that are affecting me, and he can bring me out of a negative state of mind with his self-deprecating sense of humor. He's very validating of the issues I have with my physical health, and he has lived experience that affords him the compassion and empathy that makes him a vocal advocate for me, and and one of the few medical professionals that I see that BELIEVES ME about being in actually real, excruciating pain, every single day of my life, without the gaslighting that's resulted in iatrogenic CPTSD, due to so very many other providers, including therapists and psychiatrists, accusing me of being a drug addict with mental illness. Instead he acknowledges that I have extensive physical injuries and genetic physical disorders, like progressive, degenerative scoliosis, and degenerative disc disease, permanent injuries from medical procedures like epidural steroid injections and nerve ablations, and permanent injury from medications, all of which I should have never had done with a condition like hyper mobile Ehlers Danlos disorder, because they're all contraindicated. But Rodney and my physical therapist are the only doctors I see who care. I truly can't say enough nice things about Rodney! He's a gem, and anyone would be lucky to have him as a therapist.

He broke down new terms, made sure we understood what we were learning, and gave us practical tools we can actually carry into marriage.
