Our 12-year-old Golden Retriever was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor on March 14, 2024 after suffering 2 seizures. Since then, I have been taking him to BrightCare for checkups, at first, every three, now, every six months, and I have been consistently impressed by the expertise and compassionate care provided. Thanks to Dr. Shoup's exceptional knowledge to treat his diagnosis, our dog has not experienced a seizure since March 14, '24. He has been receiving effective therapeutic care since the diagnosis. Under BrightCare's guidance, he continues to live a happy and fulfilling life. I highly recommend Dr. Shoup and the BrightCare team for any pet facing a similar diagnosis. Thank you BrightCare team!!

When I took my 12 year old puppy Wiskey in it was to late, he had died in his sleep. It was 11:00 pm on Dec. 29, I was beside myself with grief, probably in a bit of shock and didn't know what to do. I ended up taking my pup to Brightstar and they were wonderful. I wish they were a regular vet service because they would be my new vets. I'm going there today to pick up my pups remains and bring him home. What was really unexpected was the sympathy card I got signed by the whole staff; thank you so much.

Look at that face. He will live a better life now. Thank you Brightcare.

My French bulldog Archie had a very complicated and rare condition that was expertly solved by the good folks at Brightcare veterinary group. His surgery was a success and there's been no complications. Here is his story. Two months ago, Archie had developed a slight wobble and trouble keeping his balance in the hind quarters. He had a bulging disk operation previously, So I took him to see his usual neurologist in Los Angeles. We soon discovered, after MRIs, this was no routine disk bulging , something very different and rare had occurred. A cyst was growing inside the sheath that surrounds the spinal cord and put pressure on his nerves. This Animal Hospital proposed an elaborate procedure and wanted to have several different departments in the operating room including orthopedics to apply plates and screws to his spine after neurology had removed the cyst . I found this to be too invasive and be certain to have a long recovery time. I sought another opinion and went to another neurology center in Orange County and the doctor there told me the spinal cord was scarred, he would not be any better after an operation, he would become paralyzed so the answer there was let it run its course do nothing. I then thought maybe there's a neurology center that works with special equipment that's less invasive and had more experience. I added that to my online search particulars and discovered Brightcare and made an appointment. I talked with Dr. Gorgi, he knew about this condition, even specializing in it in his residency years. He spoke of their special bariatric recovery chamber. He talked of less invasive process he uses and saved Archie from a paralyzed future. Just imagine the care and surgical expertise required to remove a cyst inside the spinal cord without causing any collateral damage. Super talented for complicated cases. Worth the long drive. Thank you to the friendly front desk folks and the talented Vet techs. Ivan, Archie sez hi and he misses you. Archie spent 10 days in post op care and Ivan was his midnight nurse.

RUN AWAY. GO to Rise! I had to take my dog here for a neurologic disorder. She was in the hospital for 5 days & I could not put my finger on it but my gut told me not to come back. Staff couldn't answer basic questions at discharge and read off a script. Couldn't even pronounce medical terms. After my dogs 2nd round of treatment when our neurologist was out. Staff was so vague with me. Never gave discharge instructions and NO one called me back after I let them know she wasn't doing well. I knew from day 1 I should have received a 2nd opinion. I finally did and today after a 3rd round of treatment at Rise I realized that Brightcare for the exact same treatment charges over $1100-1200 and up for the treatment Rise charges $250-$350 for. The Rise staff were in total disbelief when I showed the almost apples to apples invoice. RUN from Brightcare. I would have never thought to post a review until I realized how much they were charging. I feel bad for Dr. Shoup because she really is a good neurologist. The thing that disturbs me the most is that if I did not have insurance the thought of having to pay $1200 each month to keep my dog alive would be so economically hard. Many families CANNOT afford this. So what do they do Brightcare???? Put their dogs down because you want to charge $1000 more per month than Rise who is down the street? Makes me so ill just thinking about it.

when I was down and out and struggling, and my dog was almost dying, Dr. Robert Righter stepped up and all the support staff I 100% recommend this hospital! I can't tell you what this doctor did for me. I was losing my shit. I thought my dog was gonna die and this doctor saved him and actually gave me a huge discount on the finances. i'm probably not supposed to say that but he did you know why because he's full of compassion and he's kind I 100% recommend this hospital at any time you have an emergency I even found this anywhere ever so this is an absolute endorsement of this hospital. He saved my Henry. I'm forever grateful.

I want to start by saying that the staff members we interacted with were extremely friendly, accommodating, and professional, and we genuinely appreciated the kindness they showed us and our dog. Unfortunately, our biggest concern was the excessively long wait time. We arrived at 4:44 p.m. and did not leave until approximately 7:10 p.m., meaning we were there for nearly two and a half hours. Ultimately, we only left when I became more assertive and specifically asked for our dog back because we had reached the point where we simply could not continue waiting. We completely understand that there may have been circumstances occurring behind the scenes that were not visible to us. There could have been more urgent cases, staffing issues, procedures being performed, or other responsibilities that understandably needed to take priority. We certainly don't expect to walk in and immediately be seen, especially when other animals may require more urgent attention. That being said, based on what we observed and the relatively small number of guests present when we arrived, a wait approaching two and a half hours felt unreasonable. I hope management takes this feedback constructively, because having such kind and accommodating staff is a huge positive. Improving the way longer waits are communicated and managed would make the overall experience considerably better for both pet owners and their animals.

Luckily she was okay but I appreciated the quick service, the warmth and kind energy inside this facility, and it was just an all-around 5 star experience. It's already so nerve wracking enough to be there, and this experience just calmed me down as much as could be. Everyone - even the other pup parents, were very kind too. Would definitely think of Rise if any further needs come my way and I need immediate attention. Thank you to the caring staff!

Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Shmit left me feeling more anxious and upset than reassured. From the beginning, there was very little warmth or empathy. She did not introduce herself, and the interaction quickly felt more like I was being scolded than spoken to as a worried pet parent. She brought up concerns that my puppy was underweight, which I was absolutely willing to discuss, but the delivery felt judgmental rather than compassionate. I was asked a very long list of questions and did my best to answer each one thoroughly. I had also agreed to have the visit recorded. Yet when I had questions of my own, I felt the answers were rushed. What bothered me most was being asked to sign off on things before I had even been able to see my puppy. Maybe I'm old-school, but when someone walks into an emergency veterinary hospital scared for their animal, a simple introduction, eye contact, and a little compassion go a very long way. None of that happened here. I want to be fair and say that while sitting in the beautiful waiting room, I watched other veterinarians interact with pet parents very differently--with warmth, patience, and empathy. So I do believe there are wonderful vets at RISE. If I ever had to return, however, I would specifically request a different veterinarian. The medical knowledge may be there, but bedside manner matters too--especially when someone is scared for a member of their family.

I was devastated at the possibility that this was going to be the outcome, and Dr. Berschauer and his staff made the pain of losing a pet and all of the emotions that came with it feel just a tiny bit more bearable. Their bedside manner, the way they treated us, and especially the way they treated our dog meant so much to us. Moments like these are incredibly hard, and I'm just so thankful that this was the place we chose to go, even though there were other facilities much closer to us. We never felt rushed & Dr. Berschauer took the time to make sure we understood why he believed it was the right decision given our dog's physical state and the pain he was in. His kind words and the way the entire staff cared for us made it feel like such a peaceful transition for our dog. We left obviously heartbroken and incredibly emotional, but also at peace knowing that he was surrounded by us and was able to take his last breath peacefully. It never felt clinical or like we were just in a room waiting for something awful to happen. They gave us the time and space to say goodbye. Thank you so much to Dr. Berschauer and your entire staff. Her incision and stitches did not look right, and she developed open wounds, signs of infection, and significant discomfort. I contacted the office multiple times, sent photos, and brought her in for a follow-up, yet I was repeatedly told that everything looked normal and that she was fine. After continuing to raise concerns, I was finally told to take her to Irvine Valley Veterinary Hospital. I spent the night there and was charged nearly an additional $1,000 to have her incision re-stitched. It was incredibly frustrating to have repeatedly voiced concerns, only to end up paying significantly more to address a problem I had been told multiple times was "fine." I expressed how unhappy I was with the situation and was told the medical director would contact me. I never received a call. More recently, I noticed a pattern on the whites of my cat's eyes and sent a photo to the office. I was told by the vet that it was not normal and that I should either bring her in or see a veterinary ophthalmologist. I followed their recommendation and went to the ophthalmologist they referred me to, only to be told after a 20 second exam that what I was seeing was completely normal. I still had to pay the office visit and exam fees. Between the complications from her spay, my concerns being repeatedly dismissed, the lack of follow-up from the medical director, and being unnecessarily worried and referred to a specialist for something that turned out to be normal, I've lost confidence in the care provided here. My experiences with Dr. Ramos and other veterinarians at both the primary care office and hospital have left me feeling that my concerns were not taken seriously and that the level of care, communication, and professionalism was not what I would expect from a veterinary practice. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.

The emotional, physical and financial toll our family endured during the 10 days of "care" at this facility we feel warrants review by the California Veterinary Medical Board. The corporate owner may respond publicly with an invitation to discuss our experience so they can "review our concerns with their team." We have already given them ample opportunity to address our concerns privately with professional assistance and take accountability before we posted this review. In our experience, however, their response did not reflect genuine concern for our pet, our family, or the seriousness of what occurred. They have not taken accountability for actions that, in our view, nearly led to a tragic outcome for our beloved pet. In short, our pet was treated intensively for pneumonia and gastrointestinal issues, and after 10 days of intensive care at this facility, we were told that surgery was the only remaining hope for recovery. During his stay, our pet's health declined rapidly. What began as a simple throat-clearing cough progressed to a critical condition by the time he was discharged. The day after discharge from BluePearl, we took him to a second specialty clinic. That clinic concluded that the primary problem was actually a painful and severe ear infection, which was causing drainage into the throat and producing the cough. They immediately changed the treatment plan and discontinued BluePearl's aggressive use of multiple medications. After that change, our pet improved rapidly and ultimately made a full recovery. The second clinic also reviewed BluePearl's test results, and we were told those results did not support the diagnoses or treatment plan we had been given. Based on our experience, we feel we were seriously misled and taken advantage of and feel it is our duty to share our experience with the community.

To be clear, the veterinarian provided excellent care, several of the vet assistants were wonderful, and I've generally had positive experiences with the front desk. My dog had surgery to remove a cyst, and the procedure itself was handled very well. For that, I'm truly grateful. Unfortunately, the issue came afterward. When checking out, I questioned the high cost of the medication and mentioned that I normally use Chewy or Allivet. The front desk encouraged me to use their pharmacy instead, assuring me the prescription would be approved quickly and the service would be reliable. Since my dog needed an antibiotic daily for 10 days, I agreed and purchased enough locally to cover four days in case of shipping delays. The medication didn't even ship for three days. By Monday, I was almost out and contacted the office. Instead of receiving understanding or help, I was told it was my fault for ordering through their pharmacy and that I could either pay an inflated price for more pills or "figure it out myself." Of course, I had no choice but to pay because my dog needed the medication. Now I've learned the shipment won't arrive until next Monday, after the medication is no longer needed, forcing me to buy even more locally just to complete the treatment. The delay is frustrating, but the real disappointment is the lack of ownership, empathy, and support when their recommended solution failed. Integrity matters most when something goes wrong. Sadly, because of this experience, I'll be finding a different veterinarian moving forward.

I knew I wanted my boy to pass on his favorite couch surrounded by family, and luckily this wonderful company had an opening for the following day. Dr. Daniel explained how everything would happen and I could tell he went peacefully. The only discomfort he had was the sedation shot which Dr. Daniel explained would sting just a little bit. I can't express how grateful I am to have had such a beautiful process arranged for my boy The best final gift to him Though it can be pricey, it's worth absolutely every penny to have had such a wonderful end of life experience as this Thank you all

No one wants to be searching for at-home euthanasia services, but struggled for a long time to land…read moreon the best choice. I did not end up going with this service, but I felt it was necessary for me to write about what I was told on the phone call, and how I was addressed. I was already struggling with the decision. My 11.5 year old pup suddenly came down with pericardial effusion with a very poor, and short-lived prognosis. I had to make my decision with only a couple of days to research. When I called this place, it was around 4:00pm. I don't remember who was on the phone, but the woman who picked up made me feel like I shouldn't have been calling or that I was interrupting something. I get that we all have bad days in customer service jobs, and maybe this was just a bad day for this person. It was, however, one of the worst days of my life, and I still tried to be kind and reiterate my answers to her questions. I asked about specific verbiage on the website and to clarify what it meant, and I was met with something like "It is exactly as described on the website, did you re-read it?" and I was immediately taken aback. I was trying to get information on pricing, and how the procedure might go since my dog's physical condition was sensitive and fragile. She told me that if I was this concerned I should be going to an actual veterinary office to inquire, but that their veterinarians are very qualified to perform the procedure. Everything felt oddly defensive. I was having a hard time keeping my tears away during the call, and she kept telling me she couldn't understand me when I asked for a moment. Then, she told me if I wanted the doctor to come to my house right now, she'd need to charge me an insane extra fee. I understand after-hours fees, but we hadn't even gotten to appointment scheduling yet. I asked if I could think about it and get back to her, and she said yes, but I she would only hold my appointment slot for 30 minutes for the following morning if I wanted to do that. And, if she didn't hear back in 30 minutes. I'd have to call and reschedule a different day because the doctors are "very very busy". I felt like I was being rushed along without receiving much comfort or consultation, this is the first time I've ever sought-out an at-home pet euthanasia, so I was hoping for some guidance. Overall, this felt extremely callous, and I am so glad I went with a different service who made me feel cared for and were very accommodating and professional. The other service also fully articulates the fees they charge on their website with no hidden fees. Hard pass on this place; I see all these 5-star reviews, so hopefully my experience was just an anomaly.
