My second time coming here - my little doggo had an incident and I was a worried dog mom. We had to make a late night trip to have him looked at. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Everyone was kind and they were nice enough to even wrap my baby in a blanket after they checked him out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The inside is very clean and they even have a little area with snacks, water, coffee and tea for us parents. The price isn't the lowest but that's also expected since I was coming for care after standard business hours. They gave me medication and instructions to help him get better. Thank you for your help! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Update** they were so nice to call & text a few days later to check in on my little guy[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Rexy boy, newly diabetic!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The front office is SO loving, sweet, on top of their stuff and were always on the go for every single pet owner that came through their doors.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We went here on a Friday night 2/20 amongst other pet emergencies and the front office was always triaging, doing paperwork, constantly busy but remained being so kind and sweet to every pet and their owner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat in the lobby for a few hours, and the front office offered us gift cards for our troubles of waiting to be seen, never had that ever happen before![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The office was so busy that I had to leave my pup with them but all throughout the night, the doctor and front office kept me updated and constantly kept me in the loop on status updates and next steps.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I so appreciated this!!! We came here because my 10 yr old Cairn Terrier was diagnosed by our primary veterinarian to be Diabetic but in a ketoacidosis stage and that we only had literally 48 hours left with him so they pushed euthanasia on us. This was in the middle of the day Friday, that same night- I needed to get a 2nd opinion because we were only given a death sentence and the alternative was to get him hospitalized, we could not afford the bill but I had to know if there was anything else we could do. Dr. Jesse Tolentino literally helped us prolong our dog's life, our primary vet gave us either hospitalization or euthanasia. Dr. Tolentino gave us hope! No guarantees, but hope and helped us buy more time with our boy. He recommended that we get him on insulin ASAP to see if it could at least work since we couldn't afford the hospitalization. Next day, we went to our primary, immediately got to establishing insulin and booking an appointment for a glucose curve. No guarantees with the insulin being able to get him out of ketoacidosis but Dr. Jesse Tolentino helped us buy more time to be with our sweet boy. They say diabetes will eventually catch up with their lives but he's only 10 and a small dog! Attaching a picture of our boy at the ER. The ER bill was expensive but it was so worth having a 2nd professional opinion that did not push me to euthanize my clearly happy looking dog. It's Monday 2/23, we completed a glucose curve at our primary and our boy's ketones have dropped to .9 with insulin! His ketones were at 5 and then a 2+ at the ER. He now can continue to live his new lease on life as a diabetic. Thank you SOOOO much Dr. Tolentino!!!

I can't say enough good things about the care we received at Irvine Valley Veterinary Hospital. I brought my 15-year-old Shiba Inu, Kuma, in after a stressful couple of days involving appetite loss, GI upset, and a lot of worry on my end. [[HIGHLIGHT]]From the moment we arrived, the staff was kind, patient, and genuinely attentive especially important when you're dealing with a senior dog and a nervous owner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The veterinarian took the time to listen carefully, didn't rush us, and explained everything clearly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They ran appropriate diagnostics, caught early-stage kidney disease (Stage 2), and walked me through a thoughtful, compassionate plan focused on Kuma's comfort and quality of life. I really appreciated that they considered his sensitive stomach and prescribed a renal hydrolyzed diet instead of taking a one-size-fits-all approach. [[HIGHLIGHT]]What stood out most was how calm and reassuring the entire team was.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I never felt dismissed or pressured into unnecessary testing, and they were respectful about costs and next steps. Kuma was handled gently, and it was obvious they truly care about their patients. Thanks to their care, Kuma is back to walking, eating better, and even being playful again and I feel informed and supported moving forward. If you're looking for a veterinary team that treats both pets and their people with compassion, I highly recommend Irvine Valley Veterinary Hospital.

If I could give more than five stars, I would. I cannot thank Dr. Christine Babula and the team at the Irvine emergency veterinarian enough for saving my dog's life. After visiting two other clinics--including Mariner's Mile in Newport--my dog was repeatedly dismissed as being "dramatic" about some supposed hip pain. I knew something was very wrong, but I left each time feeling like my concerns weren't taken seriously. It turns out he was actually suffering from brain swelling due to bee stings--a medical emergency no one else considered. Dr. Babula and the Irvine ER staff immediately recognized something was gravely wrong. They moved quickly, ran the right diagnostics, and not only correctly identified his brain swelling, but literally resuscitated him at one point. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Their expertise and compassion were obvious at every step, and Dr. Babula made sure I understood what was happening the entire time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]She treated my dog (and me) with such kindness and respect--the exact opposite of what I experienced elsewhere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Without their incredible care, I am certain my dog would not be alive today. If your pet is in crisis, I cannot recommend Dr. Babula and the Irvine emergency vet team highly enough. Do NOT waste precious time at Mariner's Mile in Newport--I wish I'd gone to Irvine first.

Had my beloved Saint there after she took a fall.. [[HIGHLIGHT]]the staff were very helpful and compassionate.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My Saint fully recovered thanks to the staff. I would not hesitate to bring any of my fur babies there.

Email from manager while I was in parking lot waiting for Apple Pay to pay for surgery

This is the worst veterinarians office hospital that you could ever take your animal to They are a large part of the reason my son's dog passed away They did a procedure, sloppy unprofessional and overpriced. No antibiotics. No nothing post care Is this conjecture? No, my brother's dog had the same operation at Newnan animal Hospital in Newnan, Georgia Call and ask for yourself The same exact operation the hospital kept my brother's dog overnight to monitor to the dog antibiotics since it was an operation and the dog came home, healthy Insane crazy should not even be in business hospital brought our dog out right after the operation still bleeding all over the floor No antibiotics No nothing And when a week later, the dog still couldn't go to the bathroom and I brought the dog back They wanted to do the same operation and charge more When I was upset, and who wouldn't be upset when it comes to they're sick pet I'm not talking about the type of upset or you're cussing and screaming I'm talking about frustrating. What kind of hospital is this? Upset Why would you charge me more than the last time? Why are you doing the same operation that didn't work the first time the dog sicker than he was the first time I brought them in here But no choice I didn't want my dog to die. I go outside to make some calls to see what credit card I could put it on and this was the email I got while I was outside. This is the nightmare demons devils that are at this place. I took the dog home, called around found a vet in Laguna Beach. That would see him first thing in the morning. But the dog was almost lifeless, and when I got to the vet, they rushed him in an emergency come to find out. He had full septic from the previous operation and there was nothing that could be done. organs were failing that said she was in a lot of pain and there was nothing they could do This is what Irvine Valley veterinarian Hospital did You might get lucky, but don't say you won't warned if something bad happens And it will [[HIGHLIGHT]]We could never get a hold of the first doctor we've seen that seen the dog when we try to call no one would answer or return our calls[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Come to find out doctors just rotate to this hospital [[HIGHLIGHT]]But somehow, my son found the doctor's email address and emailed her and said you were supposed to take care of my dog. You said you'd take care of my dog and you didn't care if she died.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You should see the demonic horrific soulless Email the doctor sent back to my son. It's on his phone so I don't have it to post. I could not the doctor's email was like some bratty demonic six-year-old that was angry because she was being put in her place

Our Doberman, Monty, was rushed in after suffering a ruptured splenic mass and internal bleeding, and we were absolutely terrified that we were going to lose him. Thanks to Dr. Kim and the incredible team here, our baby is still alive today. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with compassion, honesty, and genuine care during one of the hardest moments our family has faced. Dr. Kim was not only an exceptional surgeon, but also kind, patient, and reassuring when we needed it most. You could feel how deeply he cared about Monty and about helping us navigate such an emotional and overwhelming situation. We will never forget the dedication and skill that went into saving our boy. We also want to give a very special thank you to Katlynn, the lead veterinary assistant, who truly went above and beyond for us. Her kindness, empathy, support, and communication made an unbearable situation feel a little less heavy. She treated Monty like he was her own and treated us with so much compassion and understanding throughout the entire process. Every single member of the staff we encountered showed us warmth, professionalism, and genuine love for animals. In rescue, we unfortunately see a lot of veterinary situations, and it is rare to find a team that combines both medical excellence and such heartfelt humanity the way this team does. Because of Dr. Kim, Katlynn, and the entire staff, Monty got another chance at life, and we will forever be grateful for that. Thank you for saving our baby.

The front desk person, as well as the nursing and supporting staff, were polite and kind, but that's the only compliment I have, unfortunately. Since my dog was suffering post-op, I was filled with worry and stress, and needed and expected medical guidance I could trust. I feel like I did not get that from my dog's attending vet and head of the department, Dr. April Summers. Dr. Summers did update me every day on my dog's status, but I felt that she failed to concisely communicate sound options for next steps. Her thoughts seemed scattered and sometimes contradictory to me, and she admitted during a phone call that my dog''s case "frustrated" her. This made me wary of my dog's treatment. My feelings were heightened, when during a visit, I found my dog's tail covered in urine. Even more concerning, during that same visit, we were taken to a room where we were provided with a tank of oxygen, which my dog needed. An hour later, my mom wondered if the tank was on. She asked a nurse who confirmed that it was off and turned it on. Because of my negative experience with Dr. Summers and her team, I would never advise anyone to leave their pet's care with AVSG Critical Care at this time.

We drove 1.5 hours one way in the early morning and received a call around 11:30 AM saying the radiation machine software had stopped working. My husband and I were extremely worried and disappointed. Thankfully the machine was fixed around 3 PM, and our fur baby was still able to receive his first radiation treatment and go home around 4:30 PM. After that, Day 2 and Day 3 went smoothly, and everything went very well. What truly impressed us was Dr. Wakamatsu, herself. Her consultation was incredibly thorough and informative. She explained the CT scan in great detail and made sure we understood everything about our dog's condition and the treatment plan and the treatment options. We had also consulted another oncologist in Tustin, who said we would need to wait at least 72 hours before starting treatment after their CT scan. Dr. Wakamatsu was able to start immediately, which meant so much to us during such a stressful time. Our baby CobyBean is now in the post-radiation phase, and we are hoping for the best. Thank you Dr. Wakamatsu and the radiation team, it is very sweet about the certificate (a very sweet diploma) that they gave us on the last day of treatment. I truly wouldn't mind to drive 1.5 hours or more to see Dr. Wakamatsu again. She is an amazing radiation oncologist, highly recommended to anyone who needs her help.
