My children ages 11 thru 16 have been patients since 2013. 5 years too long . In 2013 the then male…read moredr misdiagnosed my 14 year old. After having a sore throat for a week I took her to the ER where she was rushed by ambulance to Upstate for an emergency abscess on her throat. Fast forward to 2018. May 2018 I called to have my twins immunizations . Entering 6th grade they are needed. I was told that all of the drs had left the practice and there was a waiting list for physicals. I called every month until September . Still no openings . I advised them that if my children did not get their immunization they would not be able to return to school and social services would be notified if they missed 12 days . The office did not care . Without a physical there was not anything they could do. They told me to go to urgent care and pay 50 each and then bring the physical forms to them and they could administer the shots. This I did. One day remaining before my kids would be kicked out of school I called for the appt. the appointment was made for the next day. Two hours after I made the appointment, their secretary called to say that they RAN OUT of the immunization. Ran out???? The only practice in Syracuse had a shortage that no other medical facility had heard of. I secured another physician altogether had their immunization done and they were able to return to school after missing two days. One week later they called to schedule a appointment for them. Mind you they said they would call me as as soon as possible but strange they called the same date that social services would have been notified . My husband and I have private insurance so money never was the issue. This office chose to deliberately refuse to give them their shots because I called every month to see where their name was on the waiting list... yet had no problem calling Me for flu shot clinic . The dr looks like she just rolled Out of bed and wears pajamas and looks very unkept. Prior to this last incident .... you were raked over the coals for a same day sick appointment. What a terrible way to treat patients .

Dr. Lemke was my mom's oncologist, and she was wonderful. She never minced words, but was diligent…read moreabout making sure that we felt comfortable, even when she was telling us that my mom was never going to get better. She tried to make sure that we would have as much QUALITY time with her as possible, and I really appreciated that. Let's face it - she's an oncologist, so the outcome isn't going to be good a lot of the time. But Dr. Lemke's bedside manner really did make us feel confident that our mom was receiving great care, regardless of what the outcome was clearly going to be. There is one woman in her front office (unfortunately she answers the phone) who is very uncaring sounding, and I that stinks when you're family member is dying. However, I appreciated that the doctor visited my mom while she was in the hospital in Syracuse, and travels to Oneida once or twice a week so that her patients in this more rural area don't have to go all the way to Syracuse for chemotherapy. I first came here in July to meet with Dr. Brown. I had a GYN surgery in late June…read more Unfortunately, that wasn't successful. Dr. Brown did my second surgery back in late August (although it seems like yesterday). He was very good at telling me exactly what was happening. He kept me in the loop and explained everything in simple terms. He answered any questions my Mom and I had. After my surgery was done, he went out and talked to my Mom and explained what happened. He also didn't seem to mind me talking about my cats. When I went in for my post-op appointment a week later, he asked me about them. I also feel like Dr. Brown's thorough and cares about me. I think he felt bad for me when I told him how 2 of my cats kind of acted like punks after my surgery. One of them knocked my glasses case off of my nightstand the night of my surgery. When I bent over to pick them up the next morning, I had pain bending over. One of my other cats jumped on me when I was in bed and stepped on one of my incisions. I plan on seeing Dr. Brown for my yearly exams from now on. I went in yesterday for another post-op exam. He asked me about my cats again. I was a little emotional talking about one of them, Mac, who got really sick last year and passed away. He treated me with dignity, respect, kindness and like a human. I feel lucky.

I was really nervous for this change, but the new doctors and staff made me feel so secure about the transition and are always so helpful when I have questions. I've never left the office with more questions than answers. While I will miss Dr. Lapsker, (she was my husbands pediatrician when he was a child) I know that there is a whole team that truly cares for every single child. I also love how small the practice is, and I feel like my children get the attention they deserve. There are sick and well child waiting rooms, as well as specific times of day that certain ages get scheduled, ie: newborns only in the morning to keep the amount of exposure to their new immune systems low. The small steps they take to ensure the safety, care and happiness of each and every patient and parent is above and beyond. And any parent knows that is SO important when looking for a good doctor.
