Waitress was friendly and we both had the Reveille with meat. Food was excellent and cheap! Home fries were very good. Bacon looks extremely crispy. We've eaten at the counter-service restaurant a few times. The hot dogs and milk shakes are worth the visit. The shop is kept clean and also sells logo t-shirts. The milk shakes have a great consistency, and classic flavors. The hot dogs are cooked well, and the toppings are delicious and fresh. They also have HUGE reusable drink cups available which would likely provide a person with enough soda pop to last several days. The french fries are a bit lacking, though -- they are skinny and the type which taste good, but don't retain the flavor very long, so you need to consume them quickly. The cheese fries also left a lot to be desired. We ordered a huge bowl of them to share at our table. The cheese sauce was okay, but not delicious, and was only drizzled over the top of the bowl. My review was mean. I took it to three stars. But still, I've worked in restaurants. You have four employees and you close dining room because none of them can bus? Are you kidding me? I pull in, no regulars, no cars. I go in, and order breakfast. Dining room closed. Now, that is unacceptable. "We can't find employees". Then stop serving breakfast! I guarantee that the manager, and three employees they had working at the grill stations polishing stainless steel, cost them more than it's worth to stay open. Breakfast is a meal to be lingered over, not to go. I would go to McDonald's if I wanted breakfast to go. I recommend, avoid this place for breakfast. One star, for breakfast. The food was fine. The service was good. But I want to SIT DOWN when I eat breakfast!!! Update... I went to the Chippewa Hot Dog Shoppe for lunch today at noon. I went through the drive through window. I ordered 4 hot dogs, a large fry, and a regular chili. When I got home and started eating my food, I realized that my hot dogs weren't cooked and my fries also not done. Gross! I bit into a raw hot dog! Maybe it's a good thing, because I'll never eat another hot dog again!!! I love Brighton Hot Dog Shoppe. I worked for them a number of years ago and can attest to the freshness of their food. The majority of their food aside from the Oscar Meyer hot dogs, buns, and condiments are prepared daily at a central processing facility and shipped out fresh to all of the BHDS restaurants. They make the chili from scratch everyday. The grind and make out their burger patties everyday without freezing them. The fries are always fresh cut. The burgers, chili, fries, and ultra-cheap breakfasts are my favorites. This is probably the best one, but they can be found all over Beaver County and even in Pittsburgh and its suburbs. read more
