After walking from Seacliff to Brighton along the beach front, it was comforting to know there was a reward at the end. Brighton Jetty Bakery, that's where I found (what would un-do all my hard work) a custard filled Berliner bun. Not only did the bakery fill me up, but it also filled my little dog up who was given a doggy treat thanks to the friendly staff (luckily we still had the walk back). The owners, who have also owned a bakery in Port Elliot for 17 years decided to venture further, and I'm glad they have! Located in the heart of Brighton, it was peaceful sitting back with a view of the jetty, the ocean and watching other four-legged friends pass by. A sight for sore eyes and a good feed for empty tummies. Firstly it's good to see some lateral thinking it comes to opening cafes and such and this is a good example of letting the outdoors in or the inside out, which ever way you want to look at it. Bench seating just on the verge of the inner parameter and seating on the footpath with umbrellas for shade. A really nice atmosphere with the beach down the road blowing a cool breeze. Not only that but the food is baked on the premises and is delicious, on this particular day I ordered a bluberry scroll but then noticed the special of the week was yiros pie, too late I was halfway through the scroll. You can see the bakers rolling and folding the dough in the back ground, they make a variety of goods such as pies, cakes, pastries, bread, etc and around Xmas time you can place orders for puddings. It's run by the same people who run THE Pt Elliot Bakery (yes THE Pt Elliot Bakery, the most amazing bakery in the state of South Australia) so I really don't have to explain any further. Jump in the car and come down to Brighton to a most amazing bakery.The Brighton Jetty Bakery is situated on Jetty Road right near the jetty and the narrow store spills out onto the pavement with the busy customers. The pastries are top notch for a bakery (rather than a patisserie) and the sweet treats are utterly delightful. I can't recommend the doughnuts enough and the eclairs are just as good. The loaves themselves are great and the rolls are ever so crunchy. There is also a top range of artisan breads on offer for you to chow down on. read more

Word on the vegan grapevine has it that there is a bakery by the seaside that serves a number of vegan options. Brighton Jetty Bakery on Jetty Road, Brighton, is the place. Vegan options abound. On perusing the standard menu on display only one vegan option was shown--the vegan curried lentil pie. However, on further enquiry, I was given a special menu showing the vegan options highlighted in yellow. There was a sea of yellow. (No pun intended.) I opted for the lentil pie and a chocolate donut. The pie--tasty, well seasoned and with a crispy pastry. It could have used some tomato sauce just for a bit of acid--yes, I know, I am not a purist. The donut was perfect--arguably better than those available at Bliss Café; the icing was sweet and chocolatey and the dough perfect with those little crunchy/chewy bits that make doughnuts great. I couldn't help but commend the staff at Brighton Jetty Bakery for keeping an eye out for market opportunities. In a lot of cases the vegan community is hard done by. But as soon as they hear about a place that caters for them, they are there, en masse. Especially for foods that they probably miss to an extent. Whilst I don't crave meat pies, it's nice to be able to visit a standard-looking suburban pie shop and order more than a wholemeal salad roll. It's inclusive and, I am sure, good for business. Why not cater to the market rather than exclude it? When a vegan is out with friends, they dictate where to eat. Brighton Jetty Bakery caters for everybody! read more

Great friendly service even though it was really busy. Heaps of staff ready to help. The coffee was great and their brownie is to die for; light and crunchy with a deep chocolate flavour. Definitely recommend this bakery as a stop before walking down the Brighton Jetty which you can see from their clean outdoor seating areas. Great job! read more

This place really rocks. The stuff that comes out of this bakery is really top notch stuff, but without the pretentiousness of some of the other places that serve goods of equal standard. The prices aren't stupid, either. You'll be pleasantly surprised if you're expecting to be charged a great deal. The sausage rolls are damn good - I often just toss out bad ones, no matter how much I've paid. The pastry is nice and flaky, and the filling is really good too. What a fantastic bakery! read more

This place is worth going out of your way for. The food and service are both fantastic. The plain meat pies are beautiful, and full of good quality meat and gravy. Serve with a dab of sauce and you're set. The coffee is also pretty good, and I always have to have something sweet, usually in the form of a custard tart. Great food and great atmosphere. read more

Went for a walk at Brighton and stopped in for a coffee at the bakery. It would have to be one of the worst cups of coffee I have ever paid for. My wife had the same reaction. Luke warm and lousy taste. Very unhappy. I would definitely NOT recommend anyone go there for coffee. I am usually easy to please, not that fussy, but this was unusually bad. Fantastic bakery metres from the beautiful Brighton Beach. I had the pie of the month which was a Chicken Parmigiana Pie, it was delicious and they sold out almost as soon as they were placed on the tray. It's always super busy so sometimes your better option is to get your baked goods to go and eat them on a seat overlooking the ocean on the esplanade. They have ready made quiche, pies and cakes for quick dinner option and the staff are friendly, efficient and helpful. read more

I am new to this area in Adelaide but came across this gem of a place for my morning walk and coffee. Not even mentioning that it is only a few feet from the beach and ocean, the food is outstanding. The pastry crust on the sausage roll I had was one of the best. Being from the west coast of california and we have a fair amount of these restaurants around but the quality of their pastries are even better than many of them. Then you add the personality of the people there like mark who make you feel like you are a regular in the area. Can't say enough good things about this restaurant and wish they were closer at home. read more
