On some weeks, I make it to Northville Yoga 5 times, usually 4, per week, and can recommend this center as an alternative to the heat enduced experience at certain locales, and also to the hip-hop and contemporary rock sound track that now permeates many studios. The yoga practiced here is hatha, usually quite manageable for beginners and intermediate practitioners. There is truly no pressure and no judgement in these classes, and I could not imagine a better place to begin to practice yoga.

Yes, it had been 2 years ago, but when I bought them I was told they did not have an expiration date, otherwise I would have bought a smaller package since I was in the last trimester of my pregnancy. Instead, the owner informed me that the 2 classes I had purchased would not be honored (i guess they magically expired), and then she immediately tried to sell me a new package! Wow. I WAS going to buy another package after I used my 2 classes I had left, but why would I want to give more money to a place that didn't even give me what I paid for last time? Please. I will be going somewhere else, thank you. Also of worth to mention, I disliked how when I brought my sister (who had never done yoga before) with me one of the times for a drop-in class, she was not even allowed to try it free. Every reputable yoga center (and I've been to several in the ann arbor and detroit area) at least lets you try your first class for free. It's called customer service.

I've taken both the "Fundamentals of Yoga" and "Endurance, Strength, Flexibility" classes. This is the first "real" yoga that I did (class with community rec was not so good), and although I'm still not too widely traveled, I know I happened to find a great teacher here in Milford. Class size is small, usually around 10 people, at the most perhaps 20. The studio is in Meena's basement and the ceiling is a little low for me (I'm 6'2"), it's not a big problem. I've not been to any of the daytime classes, only weeknights and workshops on the weekends. I have kept coming back for more sessions and plan to continue. If you're serious about practicing yoga, I think you will appreciate the classes. Also don't think you have to be in great shape or experienced. I started knowing almost nothing of yoga, and now I feel like I have come so far, but still have lots to learn. In this review I haven't explained why I think Meena is such a good teacher, it's hard because there are so many different things, atmosphere, variety, meaning, ... if you come to a class I think you will find out.

What a happy day it was that I found Meena's studio so close to home. The individual attention was amazing. She was able to asses my situation and really work with my specific needs. Have happily graduated to a mix level class that not only continues to keep me pain free and strong, but has really brought a wonderful hour that I get to look forward to. I always leave feeling energized and ready to tackle the day. With so many yoga options available I appreciate the smaller setting of this studio. Fast forward a few weeks later and I took advantage of the new student special for $69. It included unlimited yoga and salt options. I've enjoyed Yin so far and will try the salt bed soon. The yoga is held in a halo therapy room with salt added in the room. There are some health benefits noted, but I signed up to find a yoga studio that felt comfortable to practice in. I did notice my airways opened after the first class. There was also tea and coco waiting outside the room. Looking forward to trying more classes and I plan to join after the month is over. I've had a good experience so far, the owners are welcoming and the students practicing as well.

It was such a wonderful experience. The instructor was so sweet and kind, we really explained everything position very well and made us feel very comfortable. The salt room was so peaceful and the waterfall features on the wall made a very nice touch and sound of relaxation. I wish one of the services you offer would also be salt water spa soak too. They offer a wide range of services and different yoga levels too. Thank you for a wonderful time. They also have a little cute gift shop with rocks, oils, bracelets, bags and other different accessories. Definitely well worth the price of what we paid for a group get together for the Canton Women's group. I will definitely be back soon.
