My husband and I toured 4 daycares and were super impressed by the cleanliness and curriculum of this place. Seemed like a great Montessori blend and we felt like it was going to be an awesome fit! My child was due August 11, and we gave them a deposit and "enrolled" him on March 15. I told them at that time - and the lady wrote it down - that I would take 12 weeks off with my baby before I returned to work. They told me no problem and to just call them when he was born to determine his start date. I did exactly that. I called them 1 week after he was born, told them my return to work date of 11/7 (he was born 3 days after his due date, so he wouldn't be starting daycare any EARLIER than expected), and they told me that they wouldn't have any room for him until 12/19! They also said, "We have to make sure that another child is walking before then, so the very earliest we could get him in is the 19. If that child isn't walking, we'll have to push the date back further." I explained to the lady on the phone that this was going to give me 6 WEEKS without childcare and she asked me if I could get help from family or friends until then. Ridiculous! I don't have family nearby to help with childcare (if I did, I wouldn't be enrolling him in daycare) and all of my friends work during the day, too. When I asked for my $75 deposit back because they didn't hold his spot, they basically scoffed at me and said tough luck. I'm completely appalled. Don't enroll your child here - they may make you wait on another child's development so your kid can start daycare, and you'll be stuck scrambling to find a place (as if the early weeks after having a baby aren't stressful enough as it is). Totally let down and disappointed. I want my $75 back. read more

Our daughter has gone to this daycare for 6 months now and we are very happy. I can only speak for the infant class so far, but the older classes look like they have intentional curriculum and fun activities as well - we look forward to watching her grow and learn! The smiling faces of all the children is a great indicator of a great school. read more

Our 2 yr old has developed incredibly since starting at the Children's House. He was quiet at first but is now much more social and loves it. We'd recommend the Children's house to anyone looking to help with their little ones! read more

Our granddaughter who is 5 has been going to Children's House for 3 years and we love it. She has learned so much and the discipline is always appropriate. Of course there are the general day care problems all facilities face but in all we have been very happy with the Children's House over a day care that does not include such an academic and friendly environment. read more

We moved to the area about 6 months ago. We toured the daycare and fell in love with the preschool program and put his name on the list. When we toured we were told he could start in the 1yr old room in April. Every month we called and just verified his start date. Finally it came close to starting him so we went in to give our deposit. The assistant director asked us if he could walk. I replied with no that he was only 11 1/2 months old and still not there yet. she then told me "He should be walking by 12 months YOU need to work on that". I told her he probably wouldn't be walking by then and asked if he could still start and she said YES. I then put my 2 weeks notice in at his current daycare. The following Monday i called and scheduled a time to come back in and meet the teacher in the room so i felt more conformable leaving him there. We were told to come at 3:30 which we did. My husband and i both left work early which was an inconvenience and came. When we walked in the director informed me that the teacher was gone for the day as she always leaves at 2pm... I told her we talked to someone and they told us to come but she said it must have been miscommunication and we were pushed out the door. At this point i'm very annoyed and 2nd guessing starting him there. So i called to schedule a new time to meet the teacher. At that point i learned that the teacher was actually there and the director misunderstood me!! She then followed up with that he actually couldn't start until he was walking anyways even though i was told otherwise just a few days before.. THIS DAYCARE IS A JOKE. The directors are very unorganized and non-understanding. I have never heard of a daycare not allowing a child to start in a 1yr old room if they're not walking as not every kid learns over night to walk when they turn one. At this point i was lucky enough to keep him at his current daycare or we would have been without one thanks to them. I would never send my child here even if they would take him. read more

Our family first came to The Children's House when our children's grandmother (the one who watched them while my wife and I worked) became ill and could no longer watch them. At the time our oldest was 3 and our youngest was just 8 months old. Neither had been to a daycare/preschool before so it was a major adjustment for us. The staff at The Children's House went above and beyond to make our kids feel comfortable (and us parents). The school is very clean and creatively decorated to follow with lessons. Our oldest learned SO MUCH while there as well! After their grandmother was better, the kids went back to being with her during the day but we've never forgotten how wonderful The Children's House was to work with. Our youngest (now 3) just started back as we wanted her to learn and grow socially with other kids and we could not be happier. She is excited for "big girl school" EVERY day and is doing just as well as expected. THANK YOU to The Children's House! read more
