Thank you to Alexis, Charlotte, Skye, David, Dean, Carmen(I believe that's her name),Frank and Dr Singley.. I came in for multiple seizures- he knew all the proper questions to ask and how to treat them. If I forgot anyone please forgive me. Seizures are scary even when you have a history of them but the people listed above make my experience less scary. The patience and compassion they showed me was stellar. They are the prime example of the type of nurses, doctors and techs that are needed in healthcare. I don't think I can thank you all enough.

On Friday the kind nurse took my request and posted it for Dr Shabaan to call me with regard to my sister, the patient. It is now Wednesday night 8 pm. I sat in my sisters room from 10:30 am to just before 4 pm. After repeated visits to the nurses desk speaking with the charge nurse, and leaving my number for Dr Shabaan to call. To no avail. Nothing!!!! An idle promise!! Much like the Covid shot - an idle empty promise of healing. Dr Shabaan is neglectful and the hospital displays little urgency when it comes care for patients. Seven nursing staff were sitting at nurses station with most of them on a computer while multiple lights and several different sounding alarms going off getting louder as time passes. My regrets for taking my sister there. I promise Dr Shabaan to never bring my sister to HCA GULF COAST MEDICAL CENTER. Phenomenal !!! I would rather give no star for no phone call. My deepest apologies to my dear sister.

It's the equipment service that has been lacking. They brought her a hospital bed on a Friday and the first mattress wouldn't blow up. She slept on the bars for three nights because of the faulty mattress. On that Monday they brought another mattress at 6pm that night. We had to move her to replace and make up the bed. That one lasted maybe a week. She is back to sleeping on the bars. We had to add a pillow beneath her bottom and a thick quilt to make it passable to sleep. Again we are waiting for another mattress since last week. This is Tuesday! It seems that no amount of calling to Pensacola helps to get her the equipment. This is Tuesday and she is still waiting for help - a new bed or a better mattress. I am so disappointed that a company/service that advertises being caring and giving comfort for the last days of a person's life is so callous to her comfort. This has not been comfortable for her to spend her days and nights in an inadequate bed.

I have to pee but hold it because I have to give a urine sample. 3:45 - My name is called but wait, not for my appointment but because I have to fill out more paperwork than what I already filled out online. My bladder is full enough to start to cause physical pain. 3:50 - I turn in the clipboard and she takes a copy of my drivers license which I also already sent online. She takes my payment of 175 dollars (you know, for a 15 minute appointment) She tells me she will "let them know I am ready now." Was I not ready at 2:15 when I had my appointment?? 4:15 - Finally went to the window and asked nicely if I can take my pee test now because I honestly cant hold it any longer. Im told they dont have someone to do the pee tests but that I can come back TOMORROW to do it. I ask why would they take a DOT Physical appointment if they cant do a pee test. She claims DOT Physical doesnt include one. What?! The DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION disagrees! I tell her this is absurd (at a higher than average volume level) and that ive been waiting for over 2 hours and they want me to come in tomorrow also. I demand they refund my money and tell them I will gladly come tomorrow to ANY OTHER COMPANY for my DOT Physical. She claims she has to text her manager to get me a refund and that I can leave now. Manager isnt present at 4pm on a monday??? 4:27 - Text received saying my appointment has been cancelled. Shocking efficiency, I know. Maybe now that I got to pee my blood pressure can go back down a bit. I wont spend a bunch of time pointing out how I could see on their stupid app that the person who had a 2:55 appointment and the person who had a 3:40 appointment both got in before I even got a clipboard for paperwork. DONT GO TO THIS PLACE! They will take your money happily, and make sure you have to waste BOTH of your days off in their waiting room regardless of whether you had an appointment or not. Absolute con artists! I will update this review when I get my money back. As of right now I have 13.75 left in my account so I guess I wont be getting that Physical this week after all... I cant even IMAGINE how long the wait is for walk ins when the wait for appointments is well over an hour (based on those other 2 appointments).

I wanted to commend the operations at Emerald Shores. It started with Amy in admissions personally…read moremeeting me at the hospital concerning my mother's medical issues. This includes the inability for her to take care of herself at home. Amy was nothing but kind, supportive, listened and promptly had her cleared for admissions to her facilty. Upon being admitted the nursing staff took great care of her from checking in on her, issuing meds, assisting her when she needed to get up, consistently take her vitals, listening to what she needed, and treated her like family. When questions came up beyond what the nurses could answer top administrative staff personally met with me, listened and resolved any concerns. They also welcomed any further contact or questions. Based on the medications consistently being provided and care my mother was given she recovered, was able to walk well on her own and was coherent enough to go home. Although it was a short stay compared to most my mother wouldn't have been able to make it at home and would have been right back at the hospital. This was prevented by Emerald Shores stepping in for the treatment and care she received.
