What can I say about a petrol station!? Well, a bit I think! This is situated on Constitution Hill…read morenear the JQ. It's in fact, the closet one to my flat and I can see it from there as well. If your coming down Constitution towards town, its on your right and you have to do a bit of a U-turn to get into it. There's four pumps and it gets really busy at rush hour through the traffic. I've only filled up here a few times, mostly when its an emergency. This is because one time they made me pay before I filled up, which I hated. I know it's perfectly within their right to do this, but there no sign telling me and I was just shouted at over the tannoy. There's a very little shop inside selling the essentials, though I'd avoid that if I were you. I brought milk here once and it was off even though it said it was within date. A car wash had also just opened here as well. I don't know exactly how it works as the fore-core is slightly small and it narrows at one end. It's quite cheap though, it says that currently (June 2015) it's £2.50 for a wash, which is not too bad at all.

With sticky sweets left all over the place by recalcitrant children and a good 6 months worth of foot traffic since the last time I hoovered it out, I gritted my teeth and looked for somewhere to valet my car.... The coffee could not be just left. It is now like new..... I swear if it weren't for the hole worn in the driver footwell carpet by my husbands size 12 shoes I would think they just pulled all the carpet out and replaced it! One day when they were washing my car one of the lads scratched it accidently. The manager apologised and said it was a new guy working there. They called my car insurance and explained what had happened, and they would repay any costs associated with the damage. And they did so when I took the letter with the stated cost to the place. And every time I drive there to wash my car, they greet me and wash it thoroughly.

They also have 3 parking spots if you just need to pick up a coffee, newspaper, sandwich or whatever. I use them primarily for the excellent hand car wash and valet - quick, thorough and professional for a very reasonable price. Since I have a (by Brit standards) big SUV I have to pay the higher price but for a complete hand wash and dry, cleaning and vacuuming inside the prices is £15 - really not bad. Two thumbs up!

I've generally considered these places overpriced and normally reason with myself that I can wash my own car for half the price. However, after one particularly dirty drive to Birmingham, I happened upon this place, and seeing that they'd do a wash (without a dry) for just £3, I decided to give it a go. The guys working were all very friendly, working quickly and efficiently, and I can safely say I got my money's worth. Sparkle offers a range of services, going right up to a £50 for a full exterior clean and polish, full interior clean, and even an engine clean! My car's worth less than £50 so I couldn't really justify that, but if the quality of their £3 service is anything to go by, I'm sure they'd do a great job.
