3.5+ rounded up. Woodland Park is a small town and it's hard to find a room in the area especially during the spring and summer. To be honest, I booked this room months before because it was the only one left. I have no regrets though- located in an awesome area with a beautiful view, this Lodge is within walking distance to a shopping center and fast food joints. It is also less than 3 miles from Charis Bible College which is well known in this area. I was a bit concerned about the checking-in/out hours because a conference I was attending made it impossible to check-in during their specified hours, and their checkout starts at 8am when I needed to checkout hours sooner. Thankfully, they accommodated me and everything worked out. They were super nice about it. Although the cabin I stayed in was clean and roomy, I have to knock a star off because I had no control over the AC unit and it was a bit warmer than I like, warm enough to disturb my sleep. I am trying to take into account though, that it seemed a lot of places in Woodland Park didn't have the AC running and I am from Texas used to it running full blast. Also, breakfast starts way too late; therefore, I couldn't take advantage and had to go out for breakfast everyday. I recommend they consider starting breakfast by 7 am the latest. Overall, I would stay here again, preferably in the winter when I wouldn't have to worry about being too warm OR if I had a RV. There is a RV area behind the cabins, and I would totally consider staying here with a RV.

Used bandaid on our porch upon arrival. Gross!

If I could give zero stars I would. I have never experienced someone so rude and unprofessional as Rosie who works the front desk. when we arrived we were told the hot tub usually closes at 6pm but that she would leave it open until dark. So the kids got into their swimsuits and we walk down only to find that the hot tub was locked with a padlock. When I confronted her the following afternoon, she tried to lie and say it was open straight to my face. When I told her she was lying she then said well it was open later than usual and never offered an apology for the inconvenience. We also had to move our car multiple times because the genius who designed the layouts of the cabins only left one compact spot per cabin so if u have an SUV and the other cabin has an SUV you will be forced to move your car when the other cabin wants to leave. Long story short, we paid for two nights and left after the first night. When I asked for a refund, Rosie laughed and said all because you had to move your car a few times huh? The website description was horribly inaccurate, there is no a/c, staff locks everything and leaves at 6pm, and everything in the room is worn out and in disrepair. Really worn out furniture in the rooms, doors did not close and everything was beyond filthy. Do not waste your money staying here.

They have a seperate bedroom and a kitchenette

I love this place. It was difficult to decide on which room I liked better and the tiny homes are so cute. I will be coming back to try one of the tiny houses out. Superb customer service. Thank you for a great stay! I love the lodge and the rustic log cabin decor.

You are surrounded by beautiful pine or aspen trees. You can tell the owner takes great care of his park. It's very clean as well. There are no fires which is fine but sometimes the management will have a campfire in the picnic area as long as there's not a fire ban or rain. They are dog friendly but a maximum of 2 dogs (need management approval), no WiFi but why would you need it when you got your phones or personal hotspot, no laundry or bathrooms as you need to be fully contained. That is fine with me as I'll know if I catch something it's my own fault not the parks... Amazing views of Pikes Peak... if you can't see it in your site, there are picnic tables in their rocky corral (that's what the managers call it). The rates are pretty reasonable as they have their summer rates which include taxes, electric, water, sewer & trash and then monthly rates start in October. **You need to go 5mph throughout the entire park which is good as I've been in other parks and it gets dangerous when you're out walking and almost getting hit by a speeder, . ** You are located in the city of Woodland Park, Colorado and so you are close to everything. I highly recommend this RV park as I'll be coming for sure next summer.

We felt like taking a jaunt for a quick overnight. This is the perfect place for that if you are ok…read morewith small, simple, and serene. Which I am but the lack of a few integral amenities was one of the few reasons I gave it a three and not a four. Negatives: incredibly steep spots and not many of them. A lot of the campers aren't really "campers" but are either there for a while, or even seem to be living there. This cuts down on quite a few of the really nice spots. The proximity to the highway is a bit distracting when the traffic is heavier. BUT when the traffic isn't heavy, it's very quiet and pleasant. The area is nice and even though the highway noise is a bit much sometimes, the proximity as far as convenience for wayward travelers is definitely a plus. The apparent lack of amenities (however small an RV park is) was surprising. No showers, bathrooms, etc. I would imagine for long term visitors that could be an issue if anything should go wrong with their motorhome or need to wash clothes. Our spot and a few others (there are 40ish) and I think some of those are full-time people was incredibly, I mean blocks under our levelers steep. This caused a skosh of an issue, as some will know, with our slide out and wasn't much room for it. So if possible, request a spot that isn't steeper than Everest. These were the reasons they lost the fourth star. Positives: convenient location to Walgreens, hwy, and a couple of restaurants and very nice and quiet all evening even outside of quiet hours. Aside from some guy who felt the need to run his saw above at 8am on a weekend, it was a great place to rest for the evening. I didn't see the cabins but they do have some quaint cabins as a nice alternative. I can't attest to the interior however. But they look nice and clean on the outside. Very friendly caretaker who was available when we needed anything and the prices are perfectly matched for the camp ground. Free wifi! Yes, even camping I need my wifi. Having that is so nice it always counts as a positive no matter how remote. But, don't expect TV reception because no dish will be able to get through the trees. Despite that, the trees are definitely a positive. Very established pines that give a nice addition to the view, they also give a feeling of seclusion and did help block out the traffic noise. Full hookups. Always a bonus! I would highly recommend if you are traveling through but not so much if you plan on staying for a longer weekend. I really want to give them four stars but just can't because of the steepness and lack of extras. Four stars for short stay. Three for long stay.

The tent campsites are right on top of each other. Our picnic table was right next to our neighbor site's picnic table; you can share a meal with your stranger neighbor if you wish. The stall doors in the bathroom are comically short; they were cut to about knee height when sitting on the toilet so that your junk is at risk of exposure while you're sitting on the toilet. The campground is also RIGHT off the highway so you go to sleep to loud traffic noise and wake up to it, too. It also backs right up to a residential area, so you can look at the back of folks' houses and hear their dogs bark through night. There were roosters to wake you up in the morning, too (ngl I kinda liked that part). My husband and I are avid hikers and campers, so we've seen a lot of campgrounds. This is my least favorite, right after one of the KAOs in Virginia. During our stay, I playfully dubbed this place "the trailer park of campgrounds," and before you come after me, I grew up in a trailer park (so I would know!). If you need a convenient place to stay, it will do. It's a place to sleep. But if you're wanting privacy, space, and quiet (you know, the things people go tent camping for), then you'll want to go elsewhere.

After another camper went out of his way to explain Colorados fire stages to me, (I'm from Colorado Springs) and how Golden Bell does like "rif raf", that's when i decided I'd had enough of being treated like a second class citizen and made the decision to leave 2 days early. I called the front office and left a message that we had left early and they could go ahead and open the space. I got a call the next day from GB and was told I would not be getting the $40 refunded due to policy. I never asked for a refund. Such an insulting experience. My only reason for one less star that "great" is that it would have been awesome to have a lil fire pit or grill at the "Deluxe" sites. Aside from that, we had a great stay. Location-wise, we rode our bikes to the Garden of the Gods paths, as well as to downtown Colorado City, where there are ample restaurants, little shops, etc. It's also biking distance to downtown Manitou Springs, which was very charming as well. Service-wise, we requested an early check-in so that we could get set up and have time to ride our bikes to an appointment nearby, and they us to check in a few hours early with no additional fee. They also have a chalkboard in the office with cool things going on in the surrounding area. Another cool feature of this RV Park - it's proximity to the Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort.
