Can only smoke tobacco free products! No blunts lol

First time visiting Colorado, found this little spot online didn't look like much but loved the fact you can smoke here. They made last minute birthday accommodations for me with no problem. The "house mom" even baked a delicious cake.Upon arrival THIS PLACE IS LIKE NO OTHER ! You have the KINDEST PEOPLE greatest you at the door ! It literally feels like you're at home. The nicest people stay here. There was brunch and 4/20 infused dinner EVERY DAY we were there.(not sure if they always do that) Literally could go on and on about this place . DEFINITELY A MUST STAY !

Stayed two nights there for my partners birthday. Had an absolute blast! The hospitality was amazing and the food was even better. The room was spacious and very clean. The house was beautiful and very well laid out. Scott was super kind and had tons of knowledge about the surrounding area. Kristy even made my partner a birthday cake. Will be back without a doubt!

Hands down the best experience we've had at a B&B. The room was great. Bathroom was a little out of date but we stayed in one of the rooms that hasn't been redone yet. The bathroom and room were super clean. The service is amazing and they really care about their guests. The food was homemade for us each morning and we we're handed a cup of coffee made the way we like as soon as we came down. We will be going back!

Although the rooms were nice, we were disappointed with a number of things: First, it was evident that there was little to no communication between Sun Mountain Center and Sun Water Spa. The two entities claim to be "sister businesses," but almost a week after our stay, I am still trying to get in touch with the Spa with regard to the "discount" we were supposed to have received because we were lodging at the Center. Secondly, none of us were greeted by anyone at any point during our stay at the Center. Although the rooms were comfortable, the reception was quite cold. Lastly, we are a group of five women who thrive from being with one another. After asking various members of the staff via phone if the suite could accommodate five people, we were told that we would have to purchase two rooms. (We were more than happy to pay for a fifth in the suite "for four" we had reserved.) The suite "for four" was enormous. We could have easily fit five (or more) people in one room. We understand Sun Mountain Center is a business and has to run accordingly, but we certainly didn't feel like our stay was a priority. I am a yoga instructor and also have a travel company. I frequently search for places to send my clients and I am in constant communication with lodging facilities around the world. I know how facilities should welcome and treat their clients and Sun Mountain Center fell short, hence my "three star" rating. Stay at Sun Mountain Center. Enjoy the food and the hot tub, just don't expect a warm greeting or flexibility in your accommodations.

There are 2 100-year-old mansions on the property, along with a biodynamic farm. There is so much to do, from walking the land, spending time in the hot tubs or patios on site, or visiting Sunwater Spa just down the road. The staff on site was wonderful, and the vegan food was out of this world!!

Because I booked through Hotels.com, I received a room upgrade along with nightly expense credits, which was a wonderful bonus. The room itself was outstanding, with a spacious living area featuring a cozy fireplace and a luxurious bathroom complete with a huge soaking tub -- perfect after a cold, snowy day. While I didn't catch the names of all the amazing staff, a few stood out. Ella was an exceptional host who checked in with me before, during, and after my stay, making sure I had everything I needed and that my Hotels.com benefits were fully applied. One evening, I enjoyed a fantastic dinner at one of the on-site restaurants, complete with stunning views of Garden of the Gods Park; Jodie was a warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly server who made the experience even better. At the spa, Erica provided a treatment that was both skilled and welcoming. From start to finish, this stay truly lived up to its name -- it felt like a real resort experience in every sense.

Great Views. Zero Soul…read more I genuinely wanted to love this place. It had everything on paper - the views, the parking, the promise. So here's my honest advice: Book one night in the big suite, don't interact with management or the events team, eat somewhere else, and leave. You'll actually enjoy yourself. Here's the reality: It's gorgeous on the outside. But in my experience, there's no soul or integrity behind the facade. The service culture feels stuck in a bygone era - and not in a charming way. The locker rooms are cramped, poorly maintained, and frankly, they smell. The food is forgettable. The spa feels pretentious and operates on what I can only describe as a 1987 business model. I was told I'd need to order a nail job just to access the steam room. Make it make sense. The concierge was genuinely lovely - but it felt like her hands were tied by management's outdated approach. She seemed to want to help more than the system would allow. The events department was, in my experience, a major disappointment. Communication felt disorganized and unresponsive. When I asked for a simple proposal, I was told they "couldn't possibly do that for every inquiry" - in 2025, when AI tools can generate a polished, customized proposal in minutes. I tested it myself using Canva and Claude with their own metrics. Took me four minutes. The resistance to modernizing felt deliberate. Outside of the top-tier suites - which are reasonably priced by Colorado standards ---this felt like a mediocre hotel calling itself a resort. It is not The Broadmoor. It is not a Four Seasons. Those places deliver hospitality with humanity. This felt more like a zombie party with a great view. My honest opinion? It feels like ownership is either disengaged, burnt out, or simply no longer pursuing excellence. That said - if you're a Colorado local, the 10% room discount is a nice touch. Choose your room wisely, skip on-site dining, and check out 503W nearby for great prices and actual atmosphere. For corporate events? I'd look elsewhere.

Booked and guaranteed through third party, a party that importantly will CHARGE me on behalf of the hotel for not showing up. Tried checking in and they said they needed a *physical* card. Mind you, I booked, was paying, and was responsible for cancellation fees to a third party. Would not take Apple Pay. OK, I get it, even though I've been staying at remote places in the state in this manner with no issue. How about my bank card loaded on my phone? Nope. Cash? Nope. No contactless at all. Doesn't matter they have ALL my personal info - DL, address, etc. - and credit card on file. None of this is explained on the booking app's site. I didn't see anything at the hotel on this, or their website. Had to practically BEG them to cancel the reservation in such a way as I would not be charged for cancelling. Those of you following along may appreciate how absurd it is that I could possibly be charged for involuntarily cancelling a stay that I could not check in for despite physically being at the front desk ready to check in with multiple payment methods for something that had payment already arranged. Such is the negative, pathetic, and Kafka-esque user experience one can expect here. (Book today!!) So, I'm far from home, alone with my two children, with nowhere to stay despite having booked - and secured with a credit card! - a room. No help offered. No referrals. Nothing the least bit "hospitable" or sympathetic or even human. Had to plead NOT TO BE CHARGED! I booked the Pikes Peak Inn immediately thereafter. Cheaper. Much closer to the actual downtown, and despite *not even having a front desk* much more helpful and hospitable.

The person checking us in allowed us to check in early, which we appreciated, given that it allowed us to rest a bit before more activities. The free Continental breakfast was standard fare, but okay for being on vacation. Traffic noise from the adjacent busy street did not bother us inside the room.

You can book a room at Glen Eyrie without even realizing that it is the headquarters of the Navigators. Their mission is "To know Christ and make Him known, and help others do the same." During the checkin process, the lady with the Tammy Baker mascara told us "no drugs or alcohol are permitted on the property." I wasn't sure if I should be offended because I'm not sure if they tell everyone that. Another employee, a gray-haired older gentleman, sat there with his arms crossed and glared at us without blinking until we headed to our room. Past the castle foyer and down the halls where the guest rooms are located, the ambience is more like a youth hostel in a retirement home. The room was stuffy and stale smelling, there was no AC, and I couldn't figure out how to open the window. It inspired me to save the romance for later and stay outside, enjoying the grounds and until dark. Fortunately, I came prepared with six different prohibited substances, and made sure we picked up a bottle of wine when we came back from dinner. The mascara lady made sure tell us there is no tv in the room. I wish I would have told her that we can enjoy ourselves plenty without one. Breakfast is served in the King James dining hall from 7:30 am to 9:30 am. I was prepared for it to be really weird, anticipating that someone was going to help us to know Jesus, invite us to church, or ask us where we attend. I carefully curated our responses, and couldn't wait for someone to ask but no one did. Instead, we sat there and tried to guess which guests had successfully prayed the gay away and which guests had booked on booking.com and also had no idea who the Navigators are. I was so disappointed I wasn't able to use any of my invented narrative or whip out my phone to show them my ancestry.com app and impress them with the fact that King James of the KJV bible and the namesake of their splendid dining hall is actually my 15th great grandfather. Sigh, no one cared. I was sick to my stomach for the rest of the day from that breakfast buffet, particularly the mysterious José Olé freezer burrito with sprinkled with micro greens Because it was kind of creepy that we had to sign all of those safety release papers, I felt unsafe until we were off the property, and past the Colorado Springs Focus on the Family freeway exit sign. There was something magical about the weekend, not sure if it was the hospitality ministry or the contraband. When I stopped having diarrhea later at home, my Apple Watch said my blood oxygen levels were 100% and my resting heart rate was 53. I will never return to Glen Eyrie, but feel blessed to have had this experience to share with others.
