NOPE. Honestly shocked by how expensive Bristol Airport has become. We were charged £8.50 just to drop someone off and we were there for under 2 minutes. No grace period, no short-stay option, just an automatic fee the second you enter. It feels less like traffic management and more like a penalty for saying goodbye. Then inside the terminal, a beer at the Cabin Bar was £8.29. I expect airport prices to be higher, but that's pushing into ridiculous territory. Between the drop-off charge and drink prices, it feels like you're being squeezed at every step. I understand airports need revenue, but this leaves a pretty sour impression and makes the experience feel exploitative rather than welcoming. I'll be looking for workarounds next time and warning friends to do the same.. read more

The car rental return process at Bristol Airport is a mess. The signage is extremely poor, and it's not at all clear where you're supposed to go. We ended up in the wrong area simply because there were no clear directions, and there was absolutely no one around to ask for help. To make things worse, if you stop for even a moment to figure out where you are, you get photographed and issued a fine of up to £100. We paused for barely a minute while trying to locate the rental return, and still received 3 penalty notices. It feels less like an airport and more like a trap designed to catch people out. I strongly suggest choosing a better-managed airport--London airports, for example, are far clearer and far less predatory with their signage and traffic layout. I'll never fly out of Bristol Airport again after this experience. Travellers deserve clarity, not confusion and automatic fines. Avoid Bristol Airport if you can. read more

Bristol airport is a great smaller international airport. We did wish they had a bit more seating first thing in the AM. We were told to be there three hours ahead of our 6:30 flight, which was a bit excessive. I thought there would be seats, but once the AM rush hit, there weren't able to seat the family. read more

The airport is trying to be an international airport but is failing. The infrastructure is not up to it. Parking is on the slide. Processing of people is on the slide and today it took nearly 1 hour to retrieve bags from a 1:50 flight. Use to sing your praises Bristol but stick to the basics and do them well. I had the worst experience I have ever encountered in all my years of traveling. A man, whom I believe he is head of security in the baggage check, treated me in an appalling manner after my bag was flagged as positive for a trace of an explosive substance. His behavior was so distressing that it triggered a panic attack, resulting in me not even being able to speak because of it. He never apologized for the way he treated me, despite making several mistakes during the security process. I would like to highlight the following points that I consider serious failures in how the situation was handled: 1)Lack of a clear explanation regarding the reason for the security screening. 2)Rude, sarcastic, and inappropriate behavior from the security officer. 3) Exposure of my personal data in front of others without my consent. 4)Complete lack of an apology or empathy, even after it was confirmed that a mistake had been made and there was nothing dangerous in my bag. The incident occurred on April 27th, 2025, at approximately 5:50 AM. Despite being fully cooperative during the entire procedure, I almost missed my flight. I will never fly through this airport again!!! read more

I had experienced this airport once before, when we landed here instead of at Gatwick a few months ago. I departed from here for the first time a couple of weeks ago, as needed to be in Bath for 2 days beforehand. I like the fact that it is small, so not too far to walk to check in desks. Everything looks very clean and modern. Unfortunately, the luggage check-in procedure is an absolute shambles, with most of the 'self-service' desks not working, so a big crowd all trying to funnel their suitcases through two desks (luckily we were flying Easyjet, which charges for baggage in the hold, so most passengers were travelling with hand luggage only). We'd arrived a full 2 hours ahead of the (updated) departure time, which was shown on the Easyjet flight tracker as 25 minutes later than scheduled. There was no indication of any delay on the departure boards and we later discovered the airline had 'made up' the time. Once through security there was just enough time to buy a sandwich and eat it in the boarding queue. Any later and we would have missed our flight. If there is a next time, I'll arrive at least 2 1/2 hours before the flight to be certain of catching it. I've always tried to travel with just hand luggage, but given our current circumstances that just isn't possible. I'd like to say I hope they sort out the baggage check-in situation, but having recently experienced the same at Gatwick and Stansted, I doubt that will happen. read more

This was the first time we had ever flown EasyJet, and it was a pleasant experience. The flight from Belfast to Bristol, England, took about an hour. Again, we were surprised that the plane was parked out on the tarmac and we had to go down stairs. The Bristol Airport was larger than the Belfast Airport. A fairly small local airport that is undergoing major renovations and upgrades to improve itself. However, it needs a much longer runway before it will really be able to compete as anything other than a short-haul European gateway. Being fairly small, it is generally easy to use and get around. It's not too far of a walk from the lounge to the gates, and passport control on return are quick and efficient. However there are three things I really don't like about Bristol Airport: 1) unless you're in one of the airport's monopoly of approved taxis or the rare bus that serves here, there is nowhere for passengers to be dropped off or picked up without paying. 2) the security staff are grumpy, egotistical megalomaniacs who love their power trip and go out of their way to make you feel like a criminal. 3) as soon as you clear security, you have to negotiate the maze that is "Duty Free" before you can get to the waiting lounge and then your gate. This is the mandatory assault on your senses where you are bombarded with an insane number of perfumes and sales staff desperate to spray you with their latest offering. I'm reminded of the scene in Friends with Joey and the other cowboy character. If you know the show, you'll understand my point. read more

This place has grown a bit since my last visit a couple of years ago, with a whole lot of new shops and eateries to keep you occupied while you wait for your flight. The last time I was here I remember there being about two places to eat once you got through security, but now there is the standard 'Duty-free' area, bars and restaurants that you would expect. I also loved the (non-smoking) roof terrace - something that you don't see very often at airports these days with increased security worries. A nice place to get some fresh air on a sunny day. Parking is still a nightmare here, even if you're just picking someone up. You see lots of 'alternative' parking areas on the way to the airport, from pubs and farms down to individual houses with large driveways offering long-term parking facilities, and if anyone is coming to pick you up, they often lurk outside the airport and just swoop in to get you when you call them. Transport to and from the city centre is pretty straightforward on the 'Bristol Flyer' bus, which costs £7 single. read more

I rarely give anything below 4 stars without good reason. So here goes. My biggest complaint is no free wifi at all in this airport. I take that back...they give you a lousy 30 minutes then you can use a credit card or Paypal to buy 1 hour for £3 or 3 hours for £5. This is bogus to me after finding free wifi at the other 5 international airports (which Bristol calls itself) we visited on this same trip. Even Starbucks didn't offer wifi to its paying customers! Besides the wifi, I did find that the majority of the staff we interacted with were helpful, most going above and beyond. There were several restaurant and food options, duty free shopping, and Christmas decorations which I love seeing in airports. It was pretty clean, and the location is also decent as it was only 20 miles from Bath (the most beautiful city in the world...in my opinion ;-) read more

What can I say, they serve Prosecco at 4am with a breakfast. It's big enough to have some shops but not so big you have to walk for half an hour to get to your gate! This is a great airport. KLM staff are lovely, friendly people. There's a great assortment of restaurants and whatnot. It superbly clean. I just wish there was an airport that flew internationally that didn't make me walk through that darn duty-free shop. I prefer not to smell 412 different perfumes at once. read more

Since moving to the West Country I've used Bristol's International Airport a dozen or so times, and now I'd reluctantly go back to using London Airports. The ease with which you can grab your bags after landing, how quickly you can move through check-in make it much more appealing that using its larger alternatives. There are some downsides to using a regional airport; shortage of cafe's, bit of a lacklustre selection at duty free and not much to occupy you (especially if there's a delay). But on the whole it's a convenient and easy to navigate place with cheap Ryan Air and Easyjet flights taking you all over Europe and the UK. If you have to take public transport to and from the airport, I'd suggest doing some research. A one-way ticket from BIA to Temple Meads by the Airport Express bus is a whopping £7, so if there's lots of you travelling together a taxi or car-pool will save your pennies for your holiday. read more

About 8 or 10 years ago Bristol Airport was dragged screaming into the modern era via a massive rebuilding programme that has enabled it to carry some 8 million passengers a year. It is beginning to show the strain. Park on site if you can; better still, reserve it online as far in advance as possible. Avoid the Silver Park. If you use Silver, you may as well park with one of the cheaper, independent satellite parks around the airport, as they all take your keys from you and bus you in. Booking in is still good. For example, Easyjet have up to 15 desks to service a single, consolidated queue, which consequently always moves quickly. There's but a single coffee bar outside passport control, so you may as well go through straight away. But don't expect too much comfort or value for money once you're in the departure lounges. Here is an overview of what's available. The old Voyagers Bar has gone (it used to be full of friendly travellers having a pint of lager and a fag before flying, but of course all that has changed). In its place is the ZAKUSA SEAFOOD BAR, CAVIAR HOUSE AND PRUNIER: this is an outrageous ripoff, and I think they've got it completely wrong. The majority of people who use Bristol are travelling on limited budgets and are looking for value for money. Zakusa's offerings include: 6 Oysters @ £15; Seafood Platter £23; Norwegian Smoked Salmon £17; Crab Salad £18; 125gr Caviar £335 - yes £335; 'Vodka & Caviar Shot' £16; Spanish Ham & Crusty Bread £22; 125ml glass of Sancerre £6.25. I could go on, but suffice to say it was empty apart from a single chap who was sipping a glass of something. It won't last. Around the corner THE SOHO COFFEE COMPANY tries hard to give value for money, with a selection of pastries, rolls, baguettes, crisps and soft drinks. On the whole, pretty unappetising but if you must consume food at Bristol, use this place. THE ECHO MUSIC BAR is a large area with two separate bars serving beers, wines and spirits, and a selection of bar meals with starters £3 to £7 and mains all @ £6.49. It is staffed entirely by foreign persons, some of whom have great difficulty in understanding what you are saying. The queues are interminable, the food lousy, the drink prices high. Don't go there. Further along, BURGER KING has the usual junk starting @ £4.99. My tip is to save your hunger and thirst to be satisfied at your destination. Take a few snacks along from home, ahead of the trip, if you think you'll need sustenance before the flight. read more

Iddy biddy Bristol Airport is about to get much bigger. Cameron may have halted the expansion plans at Heathrow since getting into power, but despite many more thousands of objectors, with less influential day jobs, the new runway at Bristol Airport has been sanctioned, and work will begin unhindered. I'm sat at Caffe Ritazza on the concourse as I type, drinking some of their fine coffee, and wondering if I'll be interrogated for being a potential terrorist if I attempt to take pictures of the place. Airports are like that aren't they? Perhaps necessarily so...? They present one of the largest threats to national security, blar, blar, blar... we, of course, all know about this... but... are we all as keenly aware of the environmental consequences of the expansion plans though? I decided to bite the bullet. Despite there being a big fat police Land Rover sat outside, I took a few shots of the exterior of Bristol airport without being apprehended for questioning. Strangely, I feel a little disappointed. What's that about? Oddly, I couldn't find any branding on the main building. As far as I can tell, the only thing that gives away the fact that we're at Bristol Airport when outside, is what looks like a temporary sign at the beginning of the sheltered walkway to the car park. This entirely optimistic billboard-sized declaration states 'Bristol Airport. Amazing journeys start here'... Clearly, in more recent times a lot of these so-called journeys have been into psychological and spiritual realms, as opposed to foreign destinations, whilst we try to find the answers within for the frustrations we feel towards the Icelandic volcanic dust cloud.... And breathe...! (Preferably with a mask!) Those lovely Icelandic people have had a lot to answer for over the last few years... not least, a re-hashing of 'Quiet', by Bjork. Bristol Airport does the same as any other airport, except that it does it in miniature. So there's not a great deal to write about... apart from perhaps one little detail... they re-introduced a smoking zone a while ago in both the departure and arrivals sections. (God bless hysterical flyers!) A more recent development to all of this is that they've now cordoned off the lions share of the smoking area at the entrance to the airport, reserving it for non-smokers. (Not satisfied with monopolising all indoor public spaces, the non-smokers have initiated plan B in their crusade, and are obviously now going all-out for world domination!) Notwithstanding, there's a silver lining... the guy that sanctioned it must have been trained by the Bristol Council Planning Department... he's sandwiched the non-smoking area directly between the two smoking zones... genius! read more

Okay, it's not horrendous, but it certainly is one of the worst airports I've been to for a while. Naturally, this won't stop business being done here -- if you need to fly from Brizzle, you will, but it pains me that for this reason I doubt customer service will improve; it doesn't have to, so it likely won't. Any excitement you may have for you travels will soon be whisked away. The depressing array of places to await your flight will sort that for you, should security not have already. I was flying EasyJet and since their queue was huge we were told to walk all the way across to another terminal to check in so as to get in more speedily. That was fine, except that when a passenger needed speeding through ahead of everyone to catch his flight, no one helped him -- the security drone checking boarding passes before proper checks basically told this poor guy it wasn't his problem. No one in the queue offered to let him ahead of them. I bet he missed his flight. It made me sad for humanity. And we didn't get in all that much faster. Bar Zero 9 is pretty awful. There are no easy to detect signs to indicate whether you should sit and expect table service, or queue at the bar. I queued and had the option of a few dirty tables at which to sit. I ordered a burger, chips, and a coffee and paid over the odds for them -- served by a really miserable member of staff. The milk jug for my coffee clearly hadn't been cleaned since 1915. It was disgusting. The burger barely even kept up the pretence that it was food. I ate half of it, since I was starving, but couldn't face more. I sort of liked the faux-Pret, but not enough that I can recall the name. The staff there were friendlier! Anyway -- I don't mean to be a negative Nelly, but Bristol Airport is crud. The staff were miserable and unhelpful, and the only bonus was that the toilets were clean and well kept. read more

I always get childishly excited whenever I enter an airport ! However my most recent visit to Bristol airport proved to be a tad disappointing. The que to have your bags x rayed was horrendous. We were admittedly traveling at busy time. But why on earth didn't they anticipate,and have enough staff to man the machines (half were not in use). As for the food we had a Burger King that was vile. On the return visit the experience was no better. I mean how disorganised can they be ? A stoned monkey could do a better job ! I mean it's a very busy time of year to travel so let's close all but two of the passport control booth's ! Imbeciles ! Oh well I shall return as I have little choice. read more

There is not much to explore , as compared to other massive airports, its tiny. However, what makes up for the size is its convenience. It is easy to find your way around the glass building. There are plenty of coffee shops in the departure area and other coffee places in the arrival section. As any airport, the prices are steep when it comes to drinks and food. When we planned to leave, lots of people were stranded due to plane delays and occupied the place, especially in the bar areas :-). Seems people found the ideal space to linger and enjoy a few beers. The brand SOL was on offer for £12 for 6 bottles ( I think). Good offer for all the stag and hen parties waiting for their flights. Shopping is limited. You get all the essentials or even some last minute presents. Any newspapers on the go! Smoking areas are well signposted. Near the Arrivals Hall you will find the Car Rental section. There is not much seating inside nor outside and queues can be quite long. Leave yourself plenty of time when arriving or leaving the airport. Bristol is still a distance away. I would also recommend to avoid going through town during Rush Hour. Best to come from the M5. Have a nice flight! read more

Let's start with the elephant in the room. Bristol airport is a long way away from Bristol ..... It has had a boom time on the back of low cost carriers like Easyjet, Flybe, and Brian Air, and they have failed to keep pace of the surge in passenger numbers. So for the last few years the Terminal has been a building site. The car park is horrendous. A huge expanse of gravel where there is little sense of order. Be prepared to spend time finding somewhere to park, starting to turn up/down rows only to find cars blocking the path, then enjoy dragging your wheelie bag up hill over the loose stones for several minutes to get to the terminal. So now you have got here what does the terminal offer. If you like long queues you will love this place. If you like obnoxious gangs of stag and hen parties unleashing their preferred brand of foul mouth entertainment, you will adore this place. If you like to hang around in a soulless building, you will be happy! Security is another long queue with surly unhelpful staff. Once you have survived that, they have installed a slalom Duty Free shop where walking in a straight line to avoid the perfume sprayers and fag buyers is just not permitted. You must walk around the goods regardless of how little interest you have in buying them. Once through that ordeal there are a small range of shops and eateries and the main bar where you will once again come across drunken parties of stags and hens. Find a sticky table littered in empty beer glasses then sit down (if you can find a seat) to enjoy the peace and quiet of the party people shouting "Oy CumGuzzler, get another f@*%ing round in your @!*%. " When your flight is called it should be blessed relief but it won't be. You will be made to walk on and on down soulless corridors for about a mile until you join another queue to be sneered at because your hold luggage is small enough and can't be charged extra for. The best bit about this airport is the flight out of there! read more

It's a bright clean airport, with clean facilities and fast polite security. But they drop three stars for two reasons (yes, three stars for two) 1 The amount of seating in the departure lounge, or lack there of. There used to be more seating, but they took out seating to make room for the shops. 2 The complete lack of seating at the gate itself. There might have been six seats? They call you 50 mins before flight time, after which you might not realise there will be no seating at the gate. I was already tired and sore from the amount of walking we did at the weekend, I had forgot how there is no seating at the gates. For shame bristol international airport, for shame. read more

Bristol airport is a small airport which I use regularly to commute between Newcastle and Bristol. The security is always a hassle for me, as I always get stopped. The staff there are not particularly friendly. There is usually a decent wait to get bags checked. I have used Bristol airport over the years a fair few times, from flying abroad to flying to Scotland week in week out. I have found previously getting through security takes some time although this being 0530 on a Monday morning I guess you could expect this. It's a good sized airport and operates exactly as it's suppose to. Seating at times is to a low but that's at busy times as expected I guess. There is plenty of parking available to, a section for drop off/pick up has an area which now charges to use but a well oiled car park as such. A very clean and tidy airport with some good facilities, shops places to eat etc. I am really pleased Bristol has an airport that operates the way it does. Excellent local airport. Having been in a fair few airports both small and large, Bristol is one of the least stressful I've been in. Security usually has a small line of people but the line gets processed efficiently and I've never had to wait more than 10 or so minutes to get through (this cannot be said about some of the larger ones, perhaps I've just been lucky?). The selection of shops is good for such a small airport (the duty free section may not be anything amazing - unless you want a lot of cigarettes or overpriced fragrances) however with shops like Superdrug and WHSmith present you can pick up a small set of toiletries for a few days away in Europe for a reasonable price along with something to read on the plane. There is a lot of parking available (especially when you include the more-expensive silver-zone which is just down the road) and if you book in advance, through a third-party such as Purple Parking can actually be reasonably priced. The food (not cafe) outlets are a bit hit and miss, but fine if you just want something to eat before your flight and aren't fussed if it isn't the best gourmet food you've ever tasted. The cafes/coffee shops are much better and provide decent coffee and cakes etc at fairly reasonable prices. Top tip: If you do use the Airport parking, take a photo on your phone of the bay marker so you can find your car when you return (you'd be amazed how much bigger the car parks seem when you're trying to find your car in the dark, late at night in fog!) Top tip 2: There is more seating upstairs in departures (there is definitely a lack of seating downstairs) read more

I actually like Bristol airport and having just reviewed Edinburgh Airport, I think its is pretty damn good for its size! Ok, so there is not much in the way of shops, but it has a choice of eateries from Bar Zero, The Wine and Deli Bar, Dexter's, Starbucks and a Burger King. As someone who is gluten free, I usually hate airports as I would struggle to get something to eat and am reluctant to take a packed lunch as luggage space is precious enough with the restrictions, but I can eat here no problem and love having a choice :-) I often have to spend a few hours here as its usually my option for travelling elsewhere (Gloucester, Taunton) and naturally, after a long day working, the Edinburgh flight is usually one of the last out of Bristol. The Flyer service serves the airport well, negating the use of expensive taxi's and although compact, the airport is a bit tardis like inside and well organised. The eateries/bars are spread out so if you do want an escape from the crowds who hit Bar Zero (stag and hen do's ahoy!) then Bristol airport offers it. Even at peak time for business travellers - 6pm ish, I've never found queues at security and always been through in 5-10 minutes so I can find a quiet spot to wait out before my flight. I've actually, in recent months, chosen to fly to Bristol for connecting elsewhere as I do like it. read more

It seems to be an article of faith in the airport marketing business that if you add 'international' to the name then it makes the airport seem better, more glamorous maybe. Its not true. Bristol's airport is fine. Easyjet will take you to Amsterdam, Budapest, and various other European cities. However, it is not glamorous. They tout the route to New York, which I agree is a bit of a coup for Bristol. This still does feel very much like a regional airport though. Just sort a bit more desolate and small. As an actual airport it's absolutely fine. Check in has never taken too long. Theirs a few overpriced cafés and duty free to tempt you. A taxi to Bristol city centre will set you back a small fortune but there's a good shuttle bus that stops at Temple Meads and the bus station. The destinations are mostly European capitals, with the odd Easyjet-Ryanair middle of nowhere place. Bristol International Airport is no Heathrow but it'll do. read more

What's not to love about Bristol Airport? I've only flown from London airports a couple of times and there's nothing worse after a long flight than getting on a coach and paying £50 in order to spend another three hours or so travelling (worse if the coach is late - as it usually is!). Living in Totterdown, I can get a £20 taxi home in 15 minutes, or the cheapie bus service back to Temple Meads in not much longer, and there's none of that waiting for your bag for an hour bollocks you get at Heathrow. Maybe this shows a paucity of ambition on my part, but if I'm planning a holiday, I immediately look to see where I can get to in Europe from Bristol. And with Easyjet and Ryanair both operating from here, you don't have to break the bank to do it. The only problem is that I'm gradually starting to run out of destinations that they fly to! read more

Local, big, and generally well run, Bristol Airport ticks all the boxes for me. I've never had any problems here, and I've had a few very early mornings catching the uber cheap ryanair flights into Europe. It's set out over two floors - as you come in you'll be faced with about 50 check in points, a WH Smith and a subway (which saved my hunger the last time I was here). You take an escalator to the second floor to go through security, which always happens pretty smoothly and has never been that busy when I've flown from here. Then you'll be through to the shopping area and duty free section - it's all spread over one large space, with seating area in the middle. It's obviously a lot smaller than the London airports, and so generally a bit pleasanter. Each of the gates come off this main room, so it's easy to find your departure section. If you live in Bristol, this is a far more appealing option than travelling to London for the bigger airports. read more

Bristol airport has been one of the best things that has happened to me since moving to Bristol, as an avid skier I relish the opportunity of being able to fly out to the alps for as little as £50. It is even worth making the trip for a long weekend. It is not just that it is cheap, it is a well built and well run airport that does not try to take on too many passengers. As a result you don't have to spend hours queueing and then wait a few more hours getting through security. It takes a lot of the pain out of flying, use it before it starts punching above its weight, which maybe sooner rather than later with the new proposals. read more

We're all going on a summer holiday...just make sure it's somewhere in Europe, or you're at the wrong airport. I'm joking; you can of course now fly to New York and... Banjul, that famous holiday destination in Gambia, ash cloud permitting. No, Bristol airport really is brilliant and a convenient enough journey from the city centre (well it can't be too central, it is an airport). Cabs aren't that cheap, but they aren't anywhere in Bristol. The airport flyer bus is brilliant, unless you land later than midnight, then you've missed the last one. It's great to have an airport like this in Bristol; it really is a stress free place to go on holiday from (don't quote me on that I have a flight booked to a really exotic location at 5 am tomorrow, it's Newcastle). Just hope you don't get delayed here, the choice of shops isn't mind-blowing. But there is a bar that usually shows whatever sport is on and serves whatever pre-flight drink you want. read more

It might be small, it might be provincial, but Bristol International Airport is - surprisingly - a thoroughly modern airport. All the key facilities are in place with a range of well-kept shops, cafes, bars and restaurants to cater to your every need. Most importantly, all it takes to get here is a quick and convenient journey from the city centre (along with various other key stopping points along the way) with the excellent Flyer service which operates at all hours of day and night. I recommend buying a return as it's a good bit cheaper than two singles. Make sure you arrive well in advance. Although most of the time it's fine, I did at 4.30 am one morning have to queue a solid hour to get through customs. Although people on flights departing imminently were pushed to the front (there seemed to have been some sort of administrative mix up, I've never seen anything quite like it) I imagine a few must have missed their flights - I nearly did. read more

I'm impressed with Bristol airport. I much prefer this airport to Manchester, which is big and full of people asking you to answer surveys, and people getting drunk at 6am. Bristol is smaller, and I've only ever had pleasant experiences at this airport. Checking in was quick, moving through the security passages was quick, which left a good hour or so in which to grab breakfast and shop, before boarding the plane. We went for breakfast in one of the four or five eating places, a sit down restaurant, and I was surprised at how reasonable the price of the breakfast was - around £5. In Manchester it would have been inferior, and about £9. Boarding the plane was also quick, and the return journey into Bristol airport was equally as smooth-running. read more

This is a smaller airport than you'd expect for such a major city as Bristol, but that's one of the good things - no walking for miles from check-in to your departure gate. The airport is located quite a way from the city centre, to the South, and the main disadvantage is the lack of good transport links (no rail, no dual carriageways/motorways). Traffic isn't ever that bad, but make sure you've got a route planned if you've never been before. The airport has a number of places to eat, though the choice isn't that great, a few coffee shops, a WH Smiths and a small duty free shop. Not really much to keep you amused for hours, so come with a book or something to do. Car parking is expensive, but there are a number of places that offer parking services at a fraction of the price on the main road from Bristol to the airport. You don't need to book, and you'll save yourself a packet. read more

Bristol airport is located out of the city centre. It is easy locate (from the east of Bristol anyway). It is quite a small airport, this can only be a good thing in my opinion. The queues for check in are always pretty quick to get through and because of the size you don't need to worry about which terminal you're flying from etc. There are plenty of companies offering car parking, so you will probably find it cheaper than parking on site. Once inside you will find a range of shops and cafes. WHSmiths for your magazines and books, boots, places to change your money. It has everything you need, but won't take very long to get around. Lots of new routes now fly from Bristol so you really can't go wrong. read more

If you want people to be rude to you and treat you like cattle this is the airport for you . I was in 6 airports in a 7 day period and it wins for being the worst . I flew in from Schipol Amsterdam airport which was the only one that I was worried about due to it being a huge airport but no problems even though alot of it is under renovation . I did notice that everyone that they were being rude to had blue passports and not the red of the EU . May have been a coincidence. I met some great people in Bristol and they are super friendly and I recommend Bristol , Just don't have high expectations of their airport . read more

We arrived at the airport with only 25 mins to take off and the place was packed. It had been a disastrous drive with unavoidable delays from South Wales. The car park van dropped us and we ran, family of 5. No priority but the staff helped us get in as fast as possible. The gate showed closed and the baggage got held up in the checks. The staff pulled in 2 more to help get it checked. They showed us which way to run, all the way to gate 31. All on plane, gate closed but Ryanair Polish guys got us through anyway and we made it, through teenage daughters' tears, to the wedding in Zamosc! Diolch yn fawr Bristol. Slainte, Ryanair read more

I was very excited when I first moved to Bristol that I was going to be living closer to the airport, meaning less travel time, less time checking in and hence a less stressful travel experience. Sadly it seems every time I travel from Bristol something occurs to annoy me. The last time I went through security I was taken aside, had to wait 20 minutes for my bag to be searched, when it finally was searched I was told I had to pay a pound for a plastic bag to put my toiletries in because it wasn't the "right size of bag". A time before I had to go through the same rigmarole because my clear plastic bag wasn't "the right type of clear plastic bag". My family came to visit me and my sister who is sweet and polite ended up calling someone at the airport rather rude names to their face as they were so rude to her, all the while they stood by uncaring as my niece screamed her head off. Another time I dropped my headphones on the plane as I was walking off, I waited half an hour to see if anyone found them and then was told I would have to call the airline in Dublin to see if they had been found!! Plus as Ryanair are the only airline flying to Dublin from Bristol, I HAVE to use them to see my family so having faced rude staff at the airport I am then faced with the rude oompa looma air stewards of Ryanair.
