I rarely give anything below 4 stars without good reason. So here goes. My biggest complaint is no free wifi at all in this airport. I take that back...they give you a lousy 30 minutes then you can use a credit card or Paypal to buy 1 hour for £3 or 3 hours for £5. This is bogus to me after finding free wifi at the other 5 international airports (which Bristol calls itself) we visited on this same trip. Even Starbucks didn't offer wifi to its paying customers! Besides the wifi, I did find that the majority of the staff we interacted with were helpful, most going above and beyond. There were several restaurant and food options, duty free shopping, and Christmas decorations which I love seeing in airports. It was pretty clean, and the location is also decent as it was only 20 miles from Bath (the most beautiful city in the world...in my opinion ;-)

Since moving to the West Country I've used Bristol's International Airport a dozen or so times, and now I'd reluctantly go back to using London Airports. The ease with which you can grab your bags after landing, how quickly you can move through check-in make it much more appealing that using its larger alternatives. There are some downsides to using a regional airport; shortage of cafe's, bit of a lacklustre selection at duty free and not much to occupy you (especially if there's a delay). But on the whole it's a convenient and easy to navigate place with cheap Ryan Air and Easyjet flights taking you all over Europe and the UK. If you have to take public transport to and from the airport, I'd suggest doing some research. A one-way ticket from BIA to Temple Meads by the Airport Express bus is a whopping £7, so if there's lots of you travelling together a taxi or car-pool will save your pennies for your holiday.

Used to be a cracking airport, now the food area is unclean, smells of stale beer and is massively overpriced.

You have a choice of covered or un-covered parking Its very easy to find & there are pdf instructions on the website whether your comimg from north or south of the airport I think the bloke that runs it is called Roger - Really nice guy, you just give him a ring when you arrive & have your baggage and he is usually there waiting for you by the time you get to the drop off/pick up car park Excellent place which i would have no qualms in recommending

I said , oh .the one that pulled up a minute ago. Across the car park I hadnt been able to to see the small sign on the bonnet, which was hidden by the car in front. So I get on board as the driver wasnt in the cab, she then appeared and asked for my suitcase to put it in the trailer, so I handed it to her. She then reappeared in the doorway waving my booking sheet and saying I had put the wrong time for return flight. I said oh, I, m surprised that being an airport parking service, they would have kept themselves informed of flight times, as they are prone to change, but OK I dont want to discuss it further. She kept on and on with this kind of weird smile on her face, then got on with her job. Arriving at the farm, she just stuck out her hand with my car keys in, and moved away, I followed her to the trailer where she made me wait for my suitcase while she handed them out to another person who came after me. I didnt want to speak to her, when she did eventually give me the suitcase, which was rude of me, but I really had had quite enough of her by then. I turned to go, and heard her say a big loud sarcastic THANK YOU. I ignored it and went to find my car, there being no signs or instructions. Found it and loded case, put hatchback down and nearly hit a little girl on the head, the cars were packed together on the cow yard, with no one marshalling. It was really like Fawlty Towers, rude abrasive and defensive staff, providing the worst off site parking I have ever experienced. Dangerous too, and the access road is a little muddy poorly surfaced country lane. In the minibus, there was a sign asking for feedback which I left 3 days ago, no reply yet. UTTER SHAMBLES, STICK TO FARMING, I WOULD RECOMMEND TO AVOID AVOID AVOID

They have direct flights to Dublin, which means many major world cities are just one connection away from here, including my home airport, MSP. And considering how many interesting holiday destinations are directly connected here (Greek islands, Canary Islands, numerous beachy parts of Spain, decidedly non-beachy parts of Finland, etc etc), I imagine that people in the SW of England must be pretty pleased as well. Curiously no flights to London, though, as of May 2024. This is the smallest airport I've been to! I'm used to big-city airports so I'm childishly charmed by its small footprint, its adjacent cow pastures, and even the little prop planes parked on the grass. You would think the smaller scale would result in shorter waits at security, but no. Everyone, including flight crews, waits in line for a single person to scrutinize everyone for several minutes. I was in security for thirty minutes on a Friday morning. There are a couple of convenience stores, some comfortable lounge areas, and an actual Executive Lounge with drinks, baked goods, a latte machine, and other snacks. I'm not sure many people would think it was worth paying outright for entry to the Executive Lounge, since the publicly available seating is pleasant enough, but I was glad I was able to get in by flashing my Priority Pass card. My least favorite thing is that they charge you even to drop someone off or pick them up! My dad just wanted to drop me off at the terminal and had to pay five pounds. I think many people just tolerate walking in from the road. I think it's mean to put us in that position. The staff I dealt with were very kind! I had a question about routing my luggage, and several people were summoned to weigh in and ensure that my needs were met. Mostly I'm just glad that, as someone who needs to get to this area from the US, I have this option available.
