I haven't stayed at the hotel, so my review is based off the English Tea in the bar!
It was very impressive and the hotel looked very historical due to it's old looking appeal ;)
My friend had made a reservation for tea, and they kind of seemed confused even though she was speaking to them in Norwegian. I don't speak it, but I could even tell there was something off.
We were seated anyway, and a lady came by and asked to take our coats- nice touch. Turns out we had to PAY for them in the coat closet. Apparently keeping your coats in the lobby/tea area is an eyesore, and this is why I'm giving them a low rating.
The actual tray of tea treats was great, I really liked some of the sandwiches and desserts, but the fruit tea was the best. We got a really nice glass of Champagne also, very nice afternoon! There was a cucumber sandwich which was the best, and various scones with whipped cream, jam, and a custard like spread!
I am super annoyed at the coat gal- super rude. We went to pick them up and she tried charging us! I of course didn't have any money on me so I wanted to use my card (gosh I think it was a measly 50 KOR?) but they don't take cards!
Don't be fooled, just hold on to your coat because they trick you into paying! Frustrating! It's the principle vs actually coughing up the dough. It wasn't expensive but they still should tell people of this service. read more
