After some research I came to discover Mind Body Barre. I took a Mind Body Barre method class with Caitlin at the Rehoboth location and it was honestly one of the better exercise classes I've taken in recent years. The class runs about an hour and includes elements of ballet, Pilates, and yoga. The class runs at a moderate speed and is accompanied by modern pop music for the entire hour so it really keeps your energy up. The facility is spacious, clean, and well lit. the studio provides all of the equipment you will use in class but I would highly recommend bringing water and a towel. Parking is decent but I would arrive early to get a spot near the entrance. Overall I had a wonderful experience and I'm looking forward to visiting the studio again!

For example, the women's locker room is in the bottom floor, the main workout area is split into two floors- the lower level is strength training and weights, the upper level is cardio machines. It's not fancy, not brand new and shiny, but it gets the job done. There are small lockers in the upper workout area to store your jacket or purse. There are only two (2) things that really bother me about this particular Y. - There are only four (4) elliptical machines. That's it. So there's a wait sometimes. -The front desk attendants aren't particularly friendly. I've gotten some comments about the fact that I don't belong to this particular Y, never gotten a smile or a "hello" upon entering the building, and when I've asked for help finding places within the building, the attendant acted as though I was stupid and that helping me was not her job. A nicer front desk would go far to making this a Y that I would recommend to others. But right now, go if you have to, if it's convenient, and only if you don't mind mediocre customer service at best.

The location is a bit challenging (I travel here from Providence), but it is worth the personal attention that you might not feel at some of the larger gyms. As a group class instructor, I long for workouts that push me like I push my own class participants. Fitness Adventure is it! Challenge, variety, and strong peers to emulate. Erin is fantastic and "spot-on" about helping you modify your poses in order to attain proper form in both mat and reformer classes. She is also motivating, inspiring and extremely accomplished in Pilates. If a pose is particularly difficult, Erin takes a moment to demonstrate the correct form. The classes are challenging and dialogue during class kept at the bare minimum (sometimes I can barely breathe, let alone talk, because of the intensity of the work)! I am sore (in a good way) later in the day and into the next day after a class. I clearly see a more defined muscle tone after attending two classes a week for a month and it just got better after several months. Erin is a professional and takes her work seriously (without being overly serious herself) and wants every attendee to get the most out of the time spent in her studio. The studio is clean (even by my germophobic standard) and neat. The original tin cut-out ceiling (which, of course, we look at the most) adds a nice touch to the physical surroundings. Sign-up and attendance items are efficiently handled and do not detract from class time. As a nice bonus, Erin will introduce attendees to each other; which can simply generate good will during the class or can result in friendships (depending on your own inclination). Everyone in the classes I attend is friendly and the intensity of the classes does not really give room for others to be checking you out and judging. I'm addicted and will return to Aligenmentz any chance I get. It is Erin's voice I hear in my head now that I have returned to Pilates in California.

My expectations are to be treated courteously, but after being verbally attacked I responded with the same negativity I was accorded. But the abuser with the authority was able to get my membership bounced. This is abusive and not judicious. Poor management won, they did not get to the bottom of the issue, abuse will continue. Normally it's a good experience until it's not. The bully was rewarded. Selective abuse will continue.

I'd never done Pilates until this week and I think I may be hooked. So far I've taken two classes with Sally and she is awesome. She explains everything very clearly and makes sure everyone has correct form so you don't have to worry about pulling something out of wack. Sally's on it. She won't let that happen. Along with being a well informed and effective instructor Sally is incredibly welcoming and warm. As for Pilates itself, I may have finally found the exercise that I look forward to! Sallie takes the time to show you the correct positions in order to avoid injury and target the right muscles. She is willing to stop and answer questions and demonstrates the positions clearly. There seems to be a mix of younger and older participants. The classes are small so you are able to get individual attention. The studio itself is very clean and the decor is classy. I would definitely recommend this studio as a place to try pilates for the first time or continue to take classes!
