I was surprised at how much you were allowed to take control of on your first lesson. My boyfriend was able to take off, fly and land the plane with just instructions from our instructor. He has had quite a lot of experience with simulators though. The best bit was that I was allowed to tag along for free at the back of the 4 seater plane! Much better than watching from the ground. The school itself has a real sense of community with everyone we passed saying hello, waving and making chit chat. I believe they also have a social club which is nice.

The staff and instructors were all friendly. They put our birthday boy at ease, gave him clear instructions, and took him out for a fly. He got to experience what being in a small plane was like, and got to briefly try his hand at the controls. We watched (safely) from the ground. They offer a variety of intro courses, from short 30-minute lessons at just £49 up through several longer, more adventurous, more expensive options.
