The doctor was very respectful and attentive to my needs, she was very personal it didn't seem like I was just another patient being seen. It's always important for me to find a doctor's office that is very accommodating to my schedule and the doctor is very attentive and respectful to your concerns. A lot of the time, physicians listen to half your sentence and already diagnose the issue. But Dr Kasem hears your concerns and gives you her feedback and explains it thoroughly. And last but not least Joanne and Monica were very friendly and staff in the front was very respectful and everything is very clean throughout the facility. During the ongoing pandemic, it's important to keep all areas clean as possible and they also socially distance in the waiting room. If you are looking looking for a doctor that is thorough and respectful to your needs, then Dr Kasem is the one for you.

On January 24, 2022 I went for my usual annual visit, it was the same as any other year prior and we had a good time talking. She checked my weight and heart pressure to make sure it didn't increase from previous years. I've even talked to a young Taiwanese American Dr that day and we had a great chat as well. In a month a bill came from Chaparral Med Group and informed that on top of what my insurance (Anthem Bluecross) paid, I had to pay an extra $106 because "it is my first visit" to Mary. I thought this was going to be an easy fix because after all, all the receptionist had to do was to check my file at the office (Mary knew my weight didn't increase from the last visit, so that's hard evidence that she had my previous visitation on file) and we can waive this code. Nope. I called Mary's office number first, the receptionist said it's now at billing and THERE'S NOTHING SHE CAN DO FOR ME. CALL BILLING. When I called billing, that's when the nightmare began. I'd call for days and it'd goto voice mail. Non were returned. When I finally reached someone, they REFUSED TO LISTEN, AND REFUSED TO TALK FURTHER TO ME DIRECTLY. I needed to call Anthem and ask them to call Mary's billing. So for the past 2 months, 4 different Anthem reps have been calling for me. When the 1st rep finally got a live person on the phone, they agreed to change the code and change the fee. 2 weeks later I got another bill for the same $106! I had to do the same thing over again, explain my situation to the reps again and again for the past 2 months, and they said Mary's billing agreed (for the first 3 times they called) to waive the fee. Last week, at the end of March, I got another bill for $106, this time threatening me that that this bill will go to collections if I don't pay up! I called Anthem again, it took us 2 days to reach a live person from Mary's billing number. And this time they said they have never agreed to waive this fee! I've then sent all my visitations from Health Equity's site to the Anthem rep, and we're still here, stuck at this stage. At this point, it is a matter of principle. I will fight this til the end. Mary if you're reading this, you're losing a loyal patient for the past 5 years because of your billing mistake. And you're getting a 1 star from me until you fix it. No one should ever have to go through this EVER!!

Idk if it was my insurance but I go to the dr on the same floor and it's definitely not near as much. Not to mentioned she rushed me out the two or three times I was there. Barely answering my questions. She told my it was eczema on my hand, I asked her if she could help me with the redness on my face, in a condescending tone she says "yep that's eczema" I asked her how she knew that with a two second look and she said "well I've been doing this for a long time, I just know." I said okay well what can we do for it? She told me to worry about it next time. Why even freakin say anything then. Next time I went she just said to keep using the steroid cream and I asked about my face and she said to use it there too. When I asked her a question she'd seem like she was in a hurry and rush out. I just got a new dermatologist because my hand is getting worse. He said the steroid cream caused a fungal issue and gave me tips and how to fix it. Thankfully I didn't use the steroid on my face much. Super disappointed. It was expensive and ended up making things worse and never got a good amount of time with her. Wouldn't recommend her.. and I thought I would just let the rushing part go and the face thing because my hand was good at first but using steroid creams too long is not good! I didn't know and I didn't know it was a steroid(my bad) but I wasn't informed :(

After being with Kaiser for years and then changing insurance to United Healthcare…read moreI'm not ready to give an accurate recommendation on this new doctors office. For now however the office experience was decent the ladies were friendly. As far as being efficient not so much at all, unsure of it's the office environment, lack of efficiency expectations but it's something. There is a lack of efficiency in customer service in public spheres but since we are locked in until open enrollment we will make the best of it.

I have given her a few opportunities to prove that maybe first impression was just on a bad day. No. Every experience I've had has been pretty awful, and it all has to do with her bedside manner. The second she walks in, there is no hello, how are you, no smile. The most flat affect I've ever seen to be honest. She looks at me like I am the biggest inconvenience to exist. She hardly makes eye contact as she is typing essentially the entire time. No warmth at all. Any question I ask, I've been made to feel like a complete idiot for even asking. The only reason for a 2nd star is because she has honored the labs I've asked for. But Jeez does she seem to absolutely hate her job. Anyone who has left a positive experience with her, I am genuinely confused. A few examples of conversations: Me: I've been struggling to lose weight. Her: You need to eat smaller portions. Don't go for seconds. Eat salads. Don't snack. Me: Yeah believe me I've tried. I have PCOS and am on medication that makes it really difficult to lose weight. How could I go about trying ozempic? I've read that it helps regulate insulin resistance for women with PCOS. Her: *looks at me like I just asked her for a million dollars cash* IM NOT JUST GONNA GIVE YOU OZEMPIC. OH AND BY THE WAY INSURANCE WONT COVER IT. *scoffs at me like I am the biggest idiot on the planet.* Another example: Me: I am here because I am feeling extreme fatigue and I have bruises all over my legs. I'm also getting a fever frequently and seemingly out of nowhere. Her: OK WELL ARE YOU HITTING YOURSELF ALL THE TIME OR SOMETHING?? Me: No. I'm not. Her: K. I'll order you some labs. (Doesn't specify what labs) Me: I was hoping you could order labs to check for autoimmune issues. Her: I SAID IM ORDERING LABS!! Her communication and tone is so disrespectful and disgusting. PS: my insurance DOES cover glp-1 for my health related issues, and I was extremely deficient in B12, causing the bruising and fatigue. And really? Telling me to eat less and eat salads? As if I haven't tried that, and that is such outdated advice. I don't know. I think she's burned out or something. But we shouldn't have to be on the receiving end of that. Will never step foot in there again. Please know that as a healthcare worker myself (RN), we are not all like her, and nobody needs to be spoken to and treated like this. There are many other doctors and PCP that will speak to You with respect at the bare minimum.

Patients who come with urgent needs are told " we will make you a appointment tomorrow" your insurance won't pay for a urgent care visit you need to book a regular appointment. patently untrue. Medicare pays the same for urgent care appointment as they do a regular appointment so This is about profits not care. When I did see a PA for the wound that should have been dressed by a urgent care they called the fire department and a ambulance! What a waste of county resources! I was transferred to a local er that was on lock down. I sat in that hospital ER for 16 hours overnight! When The ER physician was finally free to help me hours later, he said I do not understand why your doctors urgent care could not address this simple injury. They should have dressed it with a topical antibiotic cream. I wholeheartedly agree. When I tried to talk to the to the office manager the next day, I was unheard and treated disrespectfully. Then she sent a certified letter to me a few weeks later terminating the Dr patient relationship with a CC to their attorney! Can we say passive - agressive implied threat? How completley silly and a unprofessional Hippa violation! One more sketchy note: they sell in office Iv treatments that are bagged like a convenience store sale item. While some of them may help for jet lag , flu and hangovers I take exception to the one called the "Myers cocktail" They imply in their literature and web site that it can help a wide list of diseases including dementia , Alzheimer's,... need I say more? Ok... my mother is dying right now from this horrible disease I know ALOT about it. I did mention to the office manager that It felt a bit scammy and wrong to imply that a vitamin Iv would help Alzheimer's. 99% of neurologists will tell you that a cocktail iv might offer a small vitamin boost. It will not help or slow down the diseases listed in the advertising for this Myers Cocktail. The two offices in this practice are not wheelchair accessible, based on my experience I feel the staff lacks ada, cultural and mental health competence.
