The pool was open from noon-5pm (it was opening day, I don't believe those are standard hours). We bought tickets online in the morning before going, which was a good idea because there was an incredibly long and slow line to purchase tickets. It was $15 per person. They have changing rooms, including showers with soap. They have a reasonably priced concession stand (no outside food allowed). There was a gigantic pool with multiple sections, including a zero depth entry section, 2 lap lanes, a 12 foot diving pool with diving pool and 2 drop slides. 2 medium large water slides. There was also a huge splash pad including a set of little kid water slides and a water bucket that dumps water on people. The life guards were great. We had a great time!

We were very impressed by all of the lifeguards tonight. They were very pleasant and attentive and kept a close watch on the action. The pool has 2 slide areas, a kids section, lap lanes, diving well, and free play space. Grassy area and lounge chairs. My teen enjoyed the concession stand- soft serve ice cream and funnel cakes! I like how they enforce the "no food on deck" and "no shoes on deck" rules. Points off as the parking is absolutely bonkers. There were other sporting events happening tonight, plus just folks in the park, so there was no available parking. We parked in the farthest lot, which seems like a full 2-3 blocks from the entrance, and with 1-way lanes it took us super long to get everyone in and out of the event. Also, the locker rooms were outdated and did not smell the best.

Shawn does a fitness assessment and interviews you to find out what your personal goals are. Then mixes up your workouts to help you to achieve those goals. All the while he is tracking your progress and adjusting your workouts constantly. I really love going to my sessions. All the trainers and clients encourage each other every day. It is really a unique environment that Shawn has created at Strive. If you are tired of the same old routine you need to stop by Strive 4 Fitness in Brookfield or Riverside and become part of the Strive 4 Fitness Family. You will be delighted with your results. Background: I have always been an athlete growing up. Between swim team, soccer, track, cycling, gymnastics and band I was always doing something. At 30 I was diagnosed with MS and which turned my world upside down. Then again I am a fighter and was determined that MS was not going to get me down. Fast forward 21 years and to many different meds over the years. My Doc put me on six months of chemo to try to knock out MS activity with a sledge hammer. While trying to recover from that my wife suggested I get a personal trainer to help me get stronger. It has been a year and a half and I am doing things now that I have never done before. Thank You Shawn!

Mistakes were made. Here are mine: I joined this gym…read morewithout reading the Yelp reviews. I went twice. Two classes. One was Tuesday 3/25, one was Thursday 3/27. On Friday 3/28, I found out that my father had been diagnosed with a catastrophic illness and my parents would need help for the foreseeable future. My parents live about 2 hours away in MI. After I found my bearings, and was taking care of some things I needed to, I messaged the owners at the gym and asked them to call me, which they did. The owners are a husband and wife team and the wife, Victoria, reached out fairly quickly. I explained the situation and asked her to either put my membership on hold or allow me to quit for now, and I would rejoin in the future. She told me she had to speak with her husband and would be back in touch later that afternoon. Nothing. One week later, I sent them a message and asked them to please follow up with me regarding my membership. Nothing. Today, I messaged them again at 2:41 stating I not only want to quit, but I want a refund on my membership fee. My reasoning was simple-after the unprofessional way they handled the first call, I knew I would not be comfortable going back. At 2:43, I got a phone call. After much confusion (theirs) they told me that they could freeze my membership for 60 days. They have 55 classes a week and are sure I can fit time in for the gym. My dad is dying. I am living between IL and MI at the moment. I barely have time to shower. After utilizing 2 classes, TWO, they told me they would not allow me to quit. I owned a small business for 15 years. I was the highest ranked yelp business in my category. The beauty of supporting a small business is the personalised treatment they offer, the caring community you are made to feel a part of, and the understanding that you should receive when a personal matter comes up that is out of your control. This situation is out of my control, but it is not out of theirs. They could behave like a small business should, with empathy and compassion. They can let me out of the contract; no one is going to spontaneously combust if they said, "you know what, take care of your family; we will welcome you back with open arms when you can return". I did not expect a refund of the month and sign up fee I paid for, until their unprofessionalism got the best of me, though I had only gone twice. I was trying to reasonable and fair-word to the wise, they will not be. And as far as gym experiences go, I've had far better. Do not waste your time or your money.

For this reason I like having tour guides. Going up the river was fine. Coming back went a bit sour. I went as slow as I was capable of paddling or not paddling, but apparently it was too fast for the preference of our tour guide. I was barely touching the water with my paddle. I have no idea how I could have gone any slower. It wasn't humanly possible. After shouting at me several times, he took to chasing me down and ramming my kayak so it'd spin in circles. Would I rent a kayak here and kayak the river alone? Yes. Would I personally use a tour guide here? No I wouldn't. Would I recommend? If you're a family with little kids or a drunk sorority house, absolutely. If you know what you're doing, just go it alone. You'll probably enjoy it more. Edit: If the tour guide had concerns for group safety, he could have said so. Although ramming my kayak with his seems to be a bit of a conflict as far as my safety goes. It was an unprofessional approach when he could have simply explained why he needed me to slow down

Today, I watched with immense pride as my 5-year-old stood in front of a room full of parents, children, and teachers to deliver a confident, three-minute presentation on "Castles" -- a topic they researched, wrote about, and presented entirely on their own. This moment perfectly captured the kind of growth MCC fosters -- not just academically, but socially and emotionally. Under the steady guidance of Ms. Rocio and the dedicated MCC team, our child has transformed from a shy, curious preschooler into a self-assured, articulate learner. MCC adheres closely to the Montessori method, and while the environment of independent exploration may take a little adjustment at first, the results are extraordinary. Over time, the children develop deep concentration, intrinsic motivation, and a love of learning. I've seen my child confidently use words like ruminate, tenacious, and paroxysm in writing and conversation. They've explored the life cycle of a moth, practiced addition and multiplication, and developed a genuine enthusiasm for knowledge. Beyond academics, MCC creates a nurturing and joyful community. From field trips and holiday celebrations to visits from local business leaders and sweet traditions like sending postcards to grandparents, the school experience is rich, well-rounded, and deeply personal. The bonds between the students are strong -- they support each other like siblings, and that emotional intelligence translates into real-world confidence. This also extends among the MCC families as well! (Shout out to the PTO and the MNO/DNO activities!) If you're seeking a school that invests deeply in your child's development -- academically, socially, and emotionally -- and a place where your family can plant lasting roots, look no further. Montessori Children's Community is a place where children truly flourish in ways you can't even imagine.

One of the time my daughters teacher actually came out to meet my daughter and my daughter danced with that teacher! they both the teacher and my daughter interacted so effortlessly and comfortably it made me feel so comfortable and confident knowing that I could trust them to love and care for her just as I would. I can't express how much gratitude and gratefulness I have for this daycare. They accommodated her feeding tube with such ease and gracefulness. I am Very thankful. The difference between this daycare and her previous daycare at kindercare are light night and day. Fem the second you walk through the door to the min you are checking g your child out for the day. The live stream is just a bonus to this daycare which i can access at any time throughout the day! I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS DAYCARE to any parents who take their child's well being seriously. It's already hard enough to live in times where we have no choice but to entrust our babies in others care to be able to work is such a life shattering thing, but la petite has seriously made it so much easier for me to be able to go to work with the confisence and comfort of knowing she is being loved genuinely and cared for on a level I haven't never experienced in the past.

I had exported a list of infant daycare providers from the DCFS site and was working my way down the list. When I set up a tour with Adriana I immediately thought - this is it! She was so calm and caring and had many examples of children staying in her care for years and families staying with the center for new siblings. When I returned to work at 3 months Daycare Children's World became an extension of our family. My children took their first steps and said their first words there. Adriana has been in the childcare field for over 10 years and as a first time mom I trust her to help me make the best decisions for my family. I leaned on her for guidance on introducing solids, tips on tummy time, and to communicate back my children's interests and strengths while in her care. She and her center play a critical role in the development of my children. Full time childcare for infants options are limited, let alone two spots, and even when you find it many times it comes with long waitlists and unaffordable costs. Adriana worked with my family to ensure that the spots were available at the end of my maternity leave so that I did not need to take additional unpaid leave and also not lose out on career growth and opportunities. Adriana and her center are an integral part of my family and the wider Park Ridge community. I gladly recommend her to future families.
