Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing! Our family spent nearly two years at this gym. My son started at age 4 in recreational gymnastics and eventually moved into the Dynamite pre-team program. I'm sharing our experience because parents deserve transparency before making a major commitment of time and money. Over nearly two years, we observed poor communication, weak class structure, lack of professionalism, and little respect for parents' concerns. The coaching environment felt cold and impersonal. We rarely observed warmth, encouragement, or meaningful connection between coaches and children. The atmosphere felt transactional rather than supportive, which was especially disappointing in a program for young kids. Honestly, not seeing children smiling, laughing, or truly enjoying class felt strange. Communication was a major issue. Coaches were frequently changed without notice, and assistant coaches were often placed into lead roles despite premium pricing. Parents were not informed, and new coaches were never introduced to children or families. In nearly two years, we received no meaningful feedback about our son's progress, strengths, or weaknesses. We invested significant time and money, yet had almost no insight into his development. The biggest disappointment came after moving to the Dynamite pre-team program (1.5 hours, twice per week, approximately $880 every two months). At that price point, we expected a structured program with professional coaching and active instruction. Instead, a shocking amount of class time was spent: * waiting for turns * standing in lines * repeated water breaks * long transitions with minimal instruction Close to 30 minutes or more of class time appeared to be lost to waiting and transitions alone. We observed as many as six water breaks in a single class. Meanwhile, our son spent long periods sitting and waiting while the coach struggled to manage disruptive behavior from other children. Instead of learning and staying engaged, he became bored, discouraged, and unhappy. Most importantly, he stopped enjoying gymnastics. We raised concerns multiple times to the front desk regarding excessive downtime, poor class structure, lack of active coaching, and the program not matching expectations for the cost. Each time, I was told the head coach would contact us and that sitting and waiting was a normal part of gymnastics. He never contact me. However, paying premium fees for a program with this level of downtime was extremely difficult to justify. I was especially shocked when a coach approached me and said: "What do you want? Let it go. Leave him to us. We know what we are doing." That response was deeply concerning. As a parent, I am not going to blindly "leave it to them" when I have legitimate concerns about my 6-year-old child's experience, safety, and development. The head coach never contacted me, and there was no genuine effort to understand, address, or resolve the issues before allowing the situation to escalate. We were ignored until I personally confronted the coach after the sixth water break in a single class. There was virtually no management visibility and little meaningful oversight of coaching quality or class structure. In nearly two years, we never had real access to leadership. The head coach never introduced himself, we never even knew what he looked like, he never addressed our concerns directly, and he made no effort to understand our perspective. After raising legitimate concerns, our son was removed from the pre-team program. Instead of addressing the issues, the focus shifted to criticizing my communication after I became understandably frustrated. The email stated: "After reviewing recent interactions with our staff, we have made the decision that [my son's name] will no longer continue with the boys team program." Rather than listening to legitimate concerns from paying parents, management chose to dismiss us. What was even more concerning was the final response from the head coach: "You are not entitled to publish or distribute images or videos of other people's children or our staff." That statement spoke volumes. He seemed far more focused on controlling what parents can share than addressing serious concerns. Because I recorded the class! I am sharing this review because parents deserve to make informed decisions. Observe carefully, watch full classes, and ask direct questions. We were not expecting perfection. We were expecting professionalism, communication, and accountability. Today, our son is thriving at a different facility. He is happy, engaged, learning, and genuinely enjoying every minute. This experience taught us something important: sometimes it's not gymnastics. It's the environment and the coaching. read more

My daughter attended this gymnastics school for 2 years, I liked the location because it was close to our home however they have extremely limited parking spots and if you go at a popular time finding parking is horrible. Parking spots are also very narrow. The school itself is very outdated, they really need to upgrade all of their equipment. Coaches have always been nice but the school can't seem to retain them as they're always going through different coaches. The admin staff seems very disorganized when it comes to student enrollment. I only continued to take my daughter here for the convenience of proximity to our home. She did seem to like coming and looked forward to all of her classes and coaches. My kids attended camp and separately shared concerning news about the woman that checks in/out the children, who may be the studio manager. They both expressed feeling shamed and embarrassed when yelled at for forgetting to grab their water bottle or not putting their art project on the back table. I do not believe that yelling and verbal abuse should be happening, particularly at a camp for young children. I was going to enroll them for more camp days because they overall had fun but will not be doing so. I spoke with a good friend about this, and her daughter refuses to return back to your gym for the same reasons. I see reviews similarly echoing my concerns and unfortunately your gym is not being proactive about handling this problem. read more

Attended a gymnastics meet at this DaVinci School hosted by this gym. Worse experience I've ever had to endure. The saga began w parking, or lack there of.. there was not enough parking at the venue, there was even a line (of cars) waiting to park (down the street), had to line up even having arrived 1-1/2 hrs early! back-up parking was 2 blocks away.. then, I walk in and get charged for a full "all day" pass, just to get told to wait by the door for the next session to be let in. When I asked the lady about why I can't walk in (because I paid/was charged for an all day pass) rude doesn't begin to describe her; she finally let out an honest "we've reached occupancy limits" which begged the question "why are you charging all day pass prices then?!" C'mon now.. once I was allowed to walk in; Disney lines seem like heaven compared to the ishh-show.. madhouse of the highest order, there were bleachers full w parents that would sketchily ever so slightly rock from front to back; the path way to walk around was about 5' in front of the bleachers, it was a human 405 in the flesh. Now, I know what sardines feel like. The highlight of the day was running into the dude from The Bookie, I think it's airing on Amaz on prime, my man was cool! But as far as this meet's overall experience, I'd rather have a couple of root canals done on the same day then attend another one of these. Please be better read more

The school seems a little old and a lot of the equipment might need some upgrade. We attended the candy land session there and it was really fun to see all the gymnasts and what they've got accomplished over the past few months. They had different sections where the gymnasts got to move and show the parents what they've learned. We were definitely really impressed. It's nice that the school offers transportation from the elementary school so the kids can enjoy a session. I would definitely recommend as I have seen a lot of the kids have learned a lot and the coaches seem really nice. read more

What a terrible place. Don't send your children there! I took my 3 year old there and when he was crying in the class I was told this was unacceptable and we had to leave. Immediately i asked for my money back as this clearly wasn't the right place for us that i had paid just 5 min earlier and they refused to refund me and were rude in their communication too and then simply refused to respond to me. Firstly, I know very little of the actual gymnastics school, so this review is SOLELY my experience with the CAMPS. Positives: the front office staff is FABULOUS - especially Midori. I have found them all to be friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and quick. The camp is open during dates many camps are not. This is a huge help for those of us working full time. They offer a few fun activities, excursions to the park, field trips and some weird gymnastics instruction. Negatives: the Camp is tailored toward the ladies; especially the ladies who are students at this gym. Sorry folks - but there is a lack of masculine presence, a lack of male campers (not the gym's fault), a lack of qualified male instructors who like kids, and a lack of empathy for the children who are a bit more rough and tumble. Boys are not meant to sit still for minutes on end. (They do this in their classrooms as it is.) Some of the counselors expect the younger boys to act like the girls, especially like the girls who already are students at this gym. Many of the male campers have other sports in which they are engaged and are only at this camp to have fun - not to become gymnasts. Exposure is one thing - but it seems like the gymnasts get a little more attention than the non gymnasts. I suppose I should have known this. Oh well. Lesson learned. I should have also known better when in the past few times my child attended this camp there were one or two other boys only, and one was a gymnast. The rest were little girls in glittery leotards. I believe Coach Kim leads the camp? I'm not sure what she does there or how she is qualified to work with younger children and seems somewhat inexperienced. She never hesitates to march right up to me with some complaint. I've yet to see a smile on her face. She always seems to have a problem with a child, I'm guessing because she lacks a rapport with children (especially boys) outside of her gym. She singles out students, and it is, of course, the boys. Perhaps an all little girls group would be more suitable for her? Things seem disorganized and the activities are rather boring. I'm pretty sure there's something better out there for a little boy who doesn't sit still for twenty minutes at a stretch. Mediocre camp IF you're a quiet girl who never goes against the grain, loves some basic tumbling, sitting a lot, and wears shiny leotards, but not ideal if you're a little dude with a lot of spirit who actually relishes being a boy. read more

Adult gymnastics class. Each instructor has their own style. Some let you do whatever, others keep the group more in check. Group warm-up. Go through a list of conditioning skills. 2 string bed tramps: front, back tucks and layouts. Tumble track drills. Cartwheels, rolls and front/back handsprings on floor. Small class, high quality coach. I'll be back. Between Broadway, Olympia and LA School of Gymnastics, I'd pick Broadway. Olympia was a lit too crazy and open gym for me. LA School of Gymnastics I hated the parking. Broadway was normal, I got to tumble and help with things and it wasn't too insane. Also Broadway and LA School of Gymnastics makes you go through a list of conditioning at the beginning, Olympia did not. read more

Attended multiple parties before at Broadway, and it was always fun. Attended one today and the coach Kim I think her name is not nice at all, actually made the experience really negative. I understand insurance and all the liabilities but pretty much as parents we were told to stand by the side couldn't even be w our kids who wanted us near them. We were so far away it was difficult to take pictures without the equipment right in front. For the kids who were scared to be that far away from their parents they weren't able to participate at all as the people working weren't especially warm and didn't know how to work w kids it seemed. All the parents pretty much were scared to do anything as some got yelled at multiple times as nothing was allowed. Was planning to book my daughters party here as had such an amazing experience in the past but now def not Because why pay to be abused. Then I tried to take pictures and was told that because it was not my kids party I could not approach the blue play area to take pictures...even though I mentioned that I was taking them on behalf of the parent; Kim basically lied and said that's not what the parent said - when I asked my friend she said I would love it if you take pictures. What an awful human being to be even running a kids party as I'm not sure she even likes kids as she yelled at several kids who basically stopped participating. We actually took a trial class w her as well and after class I asked how my child did, her response was along the lines that kids need discipline which is true but nothing was warm or even specific about my child. Would not recommend having this woman run any type of kids party as it makes it negative and bad for business because parents should walk away feeling like what a great place I would love to have my child here - vs thank god this party is over in a bit read more

So I really have only been here once for a trial class, but my toddler LOVED it! We signed her up for the summer sessions on the spot, paid, and left extremely happy, and looking forward to it! Well life sometimes happens, and due to an emergency in our family, we are no longer able to bring her. I called and explained the situation, and they were so nice, so accommodating, and so understanding! I love this gym for the adult classes, but only if Jones is teaching. He's the best instructor ever! I had never done any gymnastics on my life and he progressed me through so many different drills at a level I was comfortable with. I learned flips and handsprings! Pretty cool. Great BIG Gymnastics School for my toddler! DJ, is the cutest coach ever! He lights up those toddler for tumble fun to make me think my daughter can be the next big thing! We started here in February when our daughter was five and a half. She loves it! The coaches are really great with the kids, and the classes are a pretty good size in that each child gets attention and time to learn and practice. I've noticed the coaches are nurturing and positive, yet firm when necessary - like a safety issue, for example. The front office staff has never been less than friendly and helpful. I don't ever feel like I'm bothering them when I call with a question or stop by in person while my daughter is in class. We thoroughly enjoy our Saturday mornings at Broadway! We moved to Los Angeles from Texas where gymnastics schools are available in almost every city. We were saddened to hear that Broadway Gym is the only school near our home in Playa, but excited to check it out. First, I walked in and it was a total zoo! Special needs kids screaming, little kids piled into enclosed small tight spaces, far too small to get any real instruction in, classes had very high numbers for each teacher, it just seemed so disorganized. I asked to speak to a manager, I was encouraged to get a full refund, I guess they know they are the only gig in that 3 mile radius so they rather have refunded me than to secure my feedback or hear my concerns, what a FAIL! We went to another school with men's gymnastics in Culver City and were absolutely thrilled. Broadway Gym has a few pocket programs but the rest of the classes are just hugely over booked. If I could I would give it a minus but we cant, so we do not recommend this gymnastics school, look elsewhere and fast! read more

My granddaughters birthday was celebrated here and the kids had a blast.​ The staff was very professional and the kids had a fun time. The coaches sure know how to communicate with the children, as they were all very attentive and followed directions. The facility is a bit older, but that wasn't a deal breaker. Safety always ranks at​ the top of our list, and they definitely earned our trust. Many of the parents at the birthday were impressed and said they would be back to book their own parties too. I have been taking my son there for over a year now. Every single time we go, there is NO parking. Instead, they have a tiny parking lot, sign up more and more people at the same time, and then allow people to double park all over the place. I have asked them to change the set-up multiple times, but today I waited for 25 minutes while they "tried" to find the person who was blocking two cars from backing out. I was then late to pick up my older son from swim practice and got charged $25 for a late pick-up fee. Broadway staff don't care and will NOT do anything to fix this issue. Don't go there, it's awful. There are plenty of other gyms around. read more

First time at Broadway Gymnastics. Came here for a birthday party and looked like a fun facility and the lady, Kim, who ran the facility proceeded to run down her long list of rules and what you cannot do saying that insurance requirements dictate such strict policies. I'm all for rules with safety in mind, but this was just overboard. She reprimanded several parents for taking pictures or sitting on a mat that was on the outside area saying you had to stick to the narrow path. Really really horrible experience and had to stay and watch this lady run this event so my daughter could attend otherwise I would have left immediately. So sad that this person, who was so overly strict, was in charge of this party. read more

I had signed up for a toddler gymnastics class through the city of Santa Monica for our 2 year old twins. After the first two classes I was told by the instructor that I can't come back because I am just one person and each kid needs a parent/guardian to be present. The city of Santa Monica wasn't aware of that rule... I think I should have been told at the first class and not three weeks into the program. Very unprofessional. The class itself is at most mediocre. The instructors are not very enthusiastic/engaged at all. For the money you pay, totally not worth it. read more

The kids love this place, and they do a lot of things right. They've got great instructors who are knowledgeable and have impressive gymnastics skills. The place has so-so equipment. There is a decent changing area, and an upstairs spectators / viewing area which is very useful for parents who want to stay and watch their children. Why the three stars? The actual space isn't large enough for all of the kids they've go going through, the front desk staff are SLOW AS MOLASSES (especially if you're double parked - which is ALL the time), parking is horrendous...We had also used LA Gymnastics for years, and I think that LA Gymnastics seemed like it had a more spacious physical plant. We had our kids' joint birthday party here (ages 8 and 4), and it was a great experience. The kids had a blast during the gym activities - the coaches kept things moving (rotating through zipline, trampoline, freeze dance, other activities), while the parents were able to observe, take photos and talk. Robin and the other coach were also helpful with set-up and service of the food and cake during the party, and took care of the clean-up. Both birthday kids got a Broadway Gymnastics shirt, signed by the guests, at the end. The only negative is that the party room could use an update - it's very dated, some of the ceiling tiles are cracked, and the lighting is harsh. Overall, though, I would recommend Broadway Gymnastics for a birthday party. read more

My son is on the team here. The coaches are incredible and the front desk is always helpful and supportive. Gymnastics has been transformative for my son. He's so proud of the hard work he puts in and it's wonderful to see his self confidence. They're demanding at Broadway, but it's all a means to an end, and that end is remarkable. Broadway Gym School is great. The office staff is so friendly and helpful. The place is large but I wish they had more places to sit where you can see your kids. They have refreshments, clean bathrooms and parking. The teachers so far have been great. The classes are all week with several time slots. They fill up fast and prime times have faithful students so waiting lists can take awhile. My only problem is with the amount of students per class which can be 8 and possibly more with two teachers, and with boys that can be very hard to manage when they are young. My kids love it so I will not complain. The other slight fault is price...yes, it is pricey. read more

My 5-year-old daughter has been taking gymnastics classes here since January 2013 and she loves it. The facility is very clean, open, and bright. I toured a few other gyms nearby and their facilities were not nearly as nice. The classes are a bit pricey (calculates out to about $36/class when you get a whole series), but I think their rates are pretty average for gymnastics classes around this area. The staff is VERY friendly and helpful. There is a great area with tables/chairs for parents to watch their kids downstairs and upstairs. There is also a little toddler area with toys to keep my younger 2-year old occupied when she comes along. The class size is a bit large (about 12-15 kids per class I've noticed), but there are usually two instructors for classes this size. read more

This is such a wonderful gym program. We took the class for three sessions and the only reason we're not still enrolled in the Friday morning class is because my son, 3. has started school. Our family has zero former experience with gymnastics and we used this program as another enrichment activity for our son. Aspects of the program which we loved were the discipline, listening skills , and encouragement given and expected. We loved the exposure and opportunity to improve on the many different apparatus at the gym, such as the obstacle courses, balance beam, rings, and drills on trampoline. I even enjoyed the minimal Q&A during the stretch warm up. All the students were engaged and our instructor, although not as energetic as most toddler instructors, presented a much more stern yet loving demeanor which I appreciated. We have nothing but positive things to say. We even saw Gabby Douglas, 2013 Olympic Gold All-Around Medalist, there preparing to run a community event at the gym later that day. I went to Broadway for quite some years when i was a kid. Pre-team. The place has changed a lot. Overcrowded, over priced and it just seems like a clusterf*ck of chaos. There are too many kids in each class. They should either add more coaches, or make the classes smaller. Preferably, they would opt to make the classes smaller so that the entire gym is not overrun with bodies. Too many people crammed in, makes you feel like they're just in it for the $$. On that note, they classes are too expensive, especially for the lack of attention from the coaches. Our kid constantly wandered into different classes since they are grouped so close together, lost his turn and took the coaches FAR too long to even notice he was missing. The wife and I started to time it. One time it took 7 minutes. SEVEN MINUTES. That's nearly 1/5th of the class time! The coaches aren't true coaches. They seem more like trained high schoolers: not necessarily great with kids, no real knowledge of how to wrangle, and def not with their heads in the game 100% of the time. read more
