I swung by today to recycle some stuff. The aluminum price is low compared to other places in the area. I've had some bad experiences with rude or snide staff in the past. Sadly I ran into this again today. I found some material on the ground and set it on a ledge. I asked if they could sell me some of the same materials. The staffer was rude, asked how I'd feel if he went into my car and grabbed stuff. He also said he'd 86 me if I did it again. This was unnecessary and needlessly unprofessional. I simply was putting it into a more obvious place than the ground. After all if I dropped something I'd appreciate someone picking something up if I dropped it. No good deed goes unpunished here apparently. I was so flabbergasted I didn't respond with a better explanation but it's a situation I never should've happened. The only reason I have given them two stars rather than one is because the gal at the counter was very nice as she usually is. Still overall disappointed with the whole experience. read more

I had several types of metal to recycle. one was a 20 gal. bag of crushed aluminum cans I collected over the years. I saw one of the helpers put it on the scale but when I looked at the receipt a couple of days later it was not on the list. I went back and asked about it and one of the helpers just shrugged. the manager got involved and he said it was my fault for not looking at the receipt. He also said that his helpers always tell the client there is another location that pays more. I never received this information and when I mentioned it, the manager started to get very belligerent. A helper asked to see my receipt, he mentioned that the receipt was not stamped so he took it the office and when he finally came back the receipt still was not stamped. I believe he just got my information. It appears this issue is a common event at this location. So, I was stolen from, lied to, bullied and I'm a little afraid to wright this review. read more

Fairly quick process as you pull in & they unload your recycle. Done by weight & from my understand you can negotiate the price based on the current national average price?! So, don't let a recycler lowball the price- which I think happened to us! The technician didn't speak that much English and was pretty rude when we pulled in. Kept directing us to pull forward with stern hand motions. Was clearly frustrated! LOL We generally go to the location across the street ( Clean The Planet) but they were closed on Sunday. They seem to offer better customer service & rates. BTW- They DON'T take in glass. Plastic & aluminum only! Cans- should currently be offered @ .80 cents a pound and plastic is .40 cents a pound. Aluminum can recyclers, this is your place! After collecting hundreds of empty soda cans over the past year, we needed somewhere to drop them off and hopefully make a couple bucks. Many "recycling center" websites looked sketchy or appeared closed for business. We even had a coupon to a place offering additional payment for cans, but couldn't find reviews or details about the business online. Finally, BIRC showed up in my Yelp search and seemed like the place to go. I drove up to the front of the facility, and followed the large signs to pull into the garage area. The setup is very straightforward and I was greeted quickly by technicians ready to help me measure my cans. The technician explained the process, showed me how the cans would be weighed, and provided me with a receipt. I took the receipt over to the cashier just a few steps away, and was out the door with cash in hand. Check out their website for all the different types of materials they recycle. Super polite, but they don't take plastic bottles but were kind enough to refer me to another spot that did. Love that they took over a historic old spot that had been abandoned and breathed life back into the neighborhood. In and out quick. Shocked at what they paid out. 45 lb of aluminum and an 110 lb A/C condenser with all copper coil for a total of 12 dollars I felt this was real low, but maybe I am mistaken. Went to another recycler with 50 lb of steel and got 21 dollars. I don't know when steel became higher payout than copper and aluminum. I won't recommend Broadway Indoor Recycling Center. I arrived minutes before BIR was supposed to close at 5pm and as I pulled in, they were already closing the gate. I had just driven 40 minutes to bring my aluminum to them and so I went around the side to ask if they could please still take a look since I had driven so far and I arrived before their scheduled business hours of close. All the workers just kept yelling, "we're closed, we're closed!" I asked to see if the manager would please take a look and he said the same thing and laughed and shook his head like I was crazy for even asking him to do another transaction after they already shut the doors. Never going here again!! First time here and there was no information about having not having mixed items. And the guy already was extremely rude and so unprofessional. Giving me nothing but attitude and when he said I needed to separate my plastic and cans I started to do so and he stopped me and said " no! , you can't do that here you need to leave". I'm sorry but aren't you a freaking recycling center? Who ever own this place really need to start training their employees better. There were 4 other workers sitting around and watching tv. If your scraping metal this is the place! THey pay all most 2x's what everyone else pays for precious metals. Steel not so much, but who waists their time with that anyways! I always bring my AC & plumbing stuff here to help recycle vs trashing it & its nice to get paid a little sumth'n sumth'n for doing the right thing for the environment. THe owner & employees are awesome as well. I've been coming here since they opened their doors & I've gotten to know them pretty well. They help out the community & I believe they are a valuable asset to the environment. read more

Terrible customer service. Currently not accepting aluminum cans contrary to website (which displays a photo of aluminum cans). Staff extremely rude. No signs indicating what is accepted and not, website not accurate. Would not recommend for services as place is very rude and seemed bothered by customers/intake. read more

Thanks to another good yelp review, I took my 3-4 months worth of aluminum cans and plastic bottles to this place on a Friday afternoon and just like the other review, it was easy and fast. Totally worth the time and effort cleaning the cans/bottles after use to save up so that it'd be worth the trip. 25cents/lb for plastic and 70cents/lb for cans so they paid out $5. It's near where I usually shop so it wasn't out of my way. The staff was very nice and professional! I recommend it if you have the space to store your recyclables. They even take car batteries and all sorts of metal. read more

This was the worst experience for my daughter saved bottles for over a month and of course being that she is 10 years old she was all excited she had worked hard. I saw my daughter cry today she turned in several bottles over 100+bottles and she received a whopping $1.25 being a mother all I could do is try to encourage her to keep her head up all while being upset and trying not the curse the guy out which thought it was funny it was a heartless experience. At this point saving bottles to recycle will never be another option for my family ever again. This experience was horrible and she was so excited I saw her lose her pride and dignity in less than a second of being given a ticket to show her effort was worthless. I feel that this company ripped my daughter off and this was worth a complaint because they scammed my daughter. read more

Well let me tell you that i am not happy about this place. I stopped in there today to sell them some copper wire for scrap and they told me that 35 cents a pound was the best they could do well needless to say I loaded my copper wire back in my truck to check elsewhere and low and behold right down the street at pick a part who buys scrap also were willing to give me 57 cents a pound for the same stuff.So lets just say Broadway Indoor Recycling Center just lost a customer today. read more
