WWOOOWWW! WHAT A NIGHT ! Been here twice for Broadway shows and both times have been absolutely phenomenal. I've seen Hamilton and MJ the Musical. I loved everything about Hamilton, the energy, the music, all of it was sooo good. Will forever be my favorite. But Michael Jackson completely blew me away. I'm seriously considering coming back this week to watch it again that's how good it was. The cast absolutely killed it ! Every song was a hit, the production was so well done and the way they brought his story to life !! my gosh, I'm impressed. I felt like I was one with the production and literally in his story. The dancing was off the chain. LOVEEE ! I've sat in both upper level and orchestra seats and there really isn't a bad seat in the house. If you can get orchestra level, DO IT! It feels way more up close and personal. Seats are a little tight but not uncomfortable. 10000/10 experience. Lines to get in move super fast. Parking at Wells Fargo lot is $15 day of and $10 online the day before and it's a super short walk. Also from what I've seen, you can bring in a decent sized purse just an FYI.

Thanks to Yelp and Broadway San Diego I was here last week for a Yelp elite giveaway of the notebook. Broadway San Diego is basically where me and the wifey go to catch feelings... from plays We've been to a few shows here and somehow I leave more emotional every time. Didn't plan on tearing up, but here we are. Place is clean (bathrooms included major win), but when it gets crowded... it gets REAL crowded. You're kinda shuffling through people like it's a concert, but everyone figures it out!

    So stoked

One word... EPIC. I was very impressed. This was way better than Las Vegas show The One, as there was actual Michael Jackson's dance moves involved and dancing not only that it's a story about his life. There wasn't any acrobatics BS like in Vegas years ago. They danced to and sang all the songs that were favorite #1 hits including 2 Bad, Beat It, Billie Jeans, and Thriller. The audiences all got excited and cheered on the whole entire show and everyone got up and applauded it was a spectacular show and OMG Jordan M. looked and moved like Michael Jackson! There were also live singing and bands playing. Everyone did a fantastic job! The show is called MJ Musical at Broadway San Diego. Get the tickets now while they are still touring in San Diego this is the closest thing that you will experience to Michael Jackson's concert if you missed out!!!

Attended MJ The Musical Yelp Elite Event sponsored generously by Broadway San Diego. We had great Orchestra seats near center. The show took place during the 1992 rehearsals for the Dangerous tour. It encompassed his rise up to stardom from a child with a very good child actor, a young adult Michael and an adult Michael. It did not shy away from the tough treatment from his father. Really good performances and the dancing was crazy. I've never been to a Michael Jackson concert when younger and this is the closest I'll ever get. Great Show!

Had an EXCELLENT time seeing MJ the musical!!!!! What a fun and well played show. Music was great and the cast was excellent. It was great to see Michael Jackson's music come to life so vividly. I also loved the colors and how well the sound traveled in the venue. The seats were close together, so close quarters - but still super enjoyable. Loved the concessions and the fun merch. I would absolutely love to go back - thank you Civic Theater, Yelp, and Hannah the CM! I loved getting the opportunity to see this amazing production!

One of the oldest shows that are from the Wizard of OZ the two witches as they are close friends of sisters .

With the many events that are going on here in San Diego one of the best that was going at the Balboa Park the largest Christmas Celebration the many people you can see at the event. On Saturday I had attended the celebration the many people the one group that caught my eye was the Broadway San Diego one of thd Greatest Groups that helps with the many shows and performances . Seeing the many people they had and welcomed at the tent they have they were giving free show posters from the past shows from George Hamilton to River Dance . The Civic theater has been one of the many theaters that have hosted the Broadway Shows one of the greatest shows the Lion King that reached so many here in San Diego.. Broadway San Diego they are the best for the many shows they have created for the city and the customer service they have meeting the group one of the most Incredible group of people with such great spirit the way they welcomed so many . People they welcomed with many new shows to introduce the new shows and the openings Broadway San Diego has such great magic to arrange some of the many great shows . As a Yelp Elite Reviewer from the many shows that I've seen In Las Vegas yet there so much more I've seen here in San Diego to the greatest magicians one that brought San Diego out was illusionist David Copperfield . The holidays are such a great time to share with others Broadway of SanDiego they are the greatest .

As always what a wonderful venue. Saw Aladdin and it was phenomenal. Our seats in the orchestra were perfect. I have tried seats in the balcony before and they are waaay too far away and rather steep. If you are terrified of heights do not buy balcony seats. They have an assortments of drinks and snacks to choose from. Heavily priced and not cheap, but if you have the munchies and cannot wait until after the show this will tied you over.

I've alway enjoyed my theater going experiences here, and I appreciate knowing that my fellow audience members are all vaccinated. But why are there metal detectors for those of us who paid for regular subscription seats, but no metal detectors for those who are sitting in orchestra going through the side entrance. It's like you don't believe if someone wanted to bomb the place they would be willing to pay more for their seats. A bit of classism here?!

" Anastasia Play Was Awesome " My wife and I went to see the Anastasia Play at the Civic Theater and was blown away. We have seen hundreds of plays at the Civic Theater but this true story about a little girl in Russia was really interesting and AWESOME ! I have never seen such Fantastic Video effects and film in the background of the play before. Simply Great ! They story was easy to follow and was very interesting and the music was very nice. Broadway San Diego brought a Great play to San Diego for this year.

Last month my lady and I had the opportunity to visit Broadway San Diego and see the last performance (there) of "Wicked". It was a pleasant experience and helped me score extra points with my partner who was dying to see the show. Our ticket taker and the ushers who supported / guided us were friendly, helpful and responsive. I was also impressed by how comfortable our seats were ..... including more than average leg room. The theater was laid-out well and seemed to provide reasonably good viewing of the stage regardless of your seat. The performance was fantastic .... at least in our opinion and, the audience seemed to agree based on applause level & length, backed up via the number standing ovations. We will likely return to this venue to see another show.

The performance was wonderful and the voices of the cast were absolutely beautiful. The theater itself is large and you can see very well. I'm not very tall and even though people were seated in front of me I had a perfect view of the stage. The seats are comfortable and the ushers are very helpful. I believe there are concession stands on every floor as well as bars where you can get soft drinks or alcoholic beverages. The concessions are quite expensive but you expect that when you're at a theater of any kind. Very easy to find parking in the area. There is a large parking structure right next to the Civic Center as well as different parking lots where you can easily just park and walk across the street to the theater. The only rule that I have seen is that you do not bring in a bag that is larger than 12 in by 12 in. You go through a back check and walk through a metal detector but that's pretty common for any type of concert as well. Inside is very comfortable and I always enjoy coming here for a performance.

This being downtown San Diego of course you need to plan ahead for parking, but there are plenty of Lots nearby and walking distance, one of them that leads right into the parking lot of the theater. One of the positive aspects of being downtown is that you have plenty of options for dinner before or after the show. Of course you may want to make reservations ahead. They always offer concessions, of different alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, as well as little charcuterie board type items, and candy, Etc. Of course just like any other venue of this type, it is priced above what you would normally pay for those items. I always try to sit in the orchestra section because I feel there is more leg room, and I hate to feel cramped. The seats also seem a bit more comfortable in that section. I will say I honestly don't think you could have a bad seat in this theater though. The sound is usually fine, but I will say for Moulin Rouge I had trouble hearing what they were saying especially during the songs. I love that everyone is always so helpful when trying to find your seat, they will walk you to your section and show you exactly where you need to go, which is nice because it can get chaotic with so many people ushering in. Overall this is a great location and the shows they have are amazing. Definitely reccomend looking at the season and seeing what they have to offer, they're is usually something for everyone

There's literally NO bad seat in this intimate theater. I'm not exaggerating. While the balcony seats at the downtown Civic Theatre might leave you squinting at tiny figures at premium prices, here I felt like I was practically part of the show regardless of where I sat. And at these super reasonable prices? It's almost criminal how much value you're getting. Walking into their production of "Hello, Dolly!" I was immediately struck by how the modest stage might compare to larger Broadway venues. This is a place where size absolutely doesn't matter here. The creative team masterfully used every square inch of that space, with choreography that had me wondering how they fit so much spectacular dancing into such a cozy setting. Those dancers deserve medals for their spatial awareness alone! What truly sets SDMT apart is the caliber of talent they attract. This isn't just "good for local theater"--these are performers who deliver professional-quality entertainment that had me smiling from the opening number to the final bow. The acting was so engaging that I completely forgot there wasn't a traditional orchestra. Did I miss it? Not for a second. The performers commanded the space so completely that any potential limitations simply vanished. While here are no actual curtains, it didn't detract from the experience, this adds to the intimate, immersive quality that makes this theater special. You're not just watching a show, you're part of its world from the moment you take your seat. For North County residents, this place is a revelation. The easy drive and FREE parking situation (though come early, as spaces are limited and you might need to street park) makes this infinitely more accessible than the downtown venue. No parking fees, no traffic nightmares, just straight to the entertainment. Walking out after the show, I found myself repeating "wow, wow, wow" like a happy theater mantra. I'm already excited for their next production.

We honestly didn't get much time inside the theater itself; the panel was an hour long, and they ran a tight ship. But, I will say that I loved the feel of the space. It's a smaller, more intimate theater than some of the other performance spaces downtown, and it doesn't seem like they have a "bad seat" in the house, just based on the layout. The acoustics were good so that we were able to hear all the women on the panel, even if they weren't so good at using the microphones. The seats were comfortable, and there was enough leg room for people to scoot by to seats in the middle of the row without having to step, trip or stumble over those who were already seated. All in all, I liked the space a lot, and am now trying to figure out when we can visit for an actual performance (not that I didn't love the panel, but theaters are made for performing arts, and I so want to see a show here!)
