Had a wonderful moviegoing experience here. Conveniently located in downtown, close to public transit. The facility is clean. The sound system, seating and screen are excellent. The staff is friendly with great pricing on food and drinks. It's a great spot for film geeks to catch movies that are not mainstream or just released. Looking forward frequenting this theater.

Independent art house style theatre in North Park. I had the incredible pleasure of seeing "Loving Vincent" here. The space is small but they have stadium style seating so we short girls don't have to stress if a tall person decides to sit ...right in front of us! We were in the 3rd row in the middle which for this Movie was a bit too close due to the nature of the film. Bathrooms are clean. Space is welcoming. There's even a lounge area for your before-or-after movie chat. Parking in North Park can usually be problematic but I was here on a Monday afternoon and didn't have a challenge.

Went last Friday to watch a movie from Spain at the Digital Gym, but arrived too late and it was sold out. So nothing to comment yet about my experience with Digital Gym itself, but I think the gift shop deserves its own space. It is a great gift shop for cinema lovers, all things indie and nerdy and overall cool stuff. I had a good time checking the art on sale plus all the funny objects they are selling at cheap to moderate prices. I would say that most of the things are more attractive to a male audience, so this can be the place for me to get that special gift for that difficult to please friend.

Yes they do, but with Moviepass' latest updates, good luck trying to find Showtimes. It's not Digital Gym's fault.

The performance was wonderful and the voices of the cast were absolutely beautiful. The theater itself is large and you can see very well. I'm not very tall and even though people were seated in front of me I had a perfect view of the stage. The seats are comfortable and the ushers are very helpful. I believe there are concession stands on every floor as well as bars where you can get soft drinks or alcoholic beverages. The concessions are quite expensive but you expect that when you're at a theater of any kind. Very easy to find parking in the area. There is a large parking structure right next to the Civic Center as well as different parking lots where you can easily just park and walk across the street to the theater. The only rule that I have seen is that you do not bring in a bag that is larger than 12 in by 12 in. You go through a back check and walk through a metal detector but that's pretty common for any type of concert as well. Inside is very comfortable and I always enjoy coming here for a performance.

This being downtown San Diego of course you need to plan ahead for parking, but there are plenty of Lots nearby and walking distance, one of them that leads right into the parking lot of the theater. One of the positive aspects of being downtown is that you have plenty of options for dinner before or after the show. Of course you may want to make reservations ahead. They always offer concessions, of different alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, as well as little charcuterie board type items, and candy, Etc. Of course just like any other venue of this type, it is priced above what you would normally pay for those items. I always try to sit in the orchestra section because I feel there is more leg room, and I hate to feel cramped. The seats also seem a bit more comfortable in that section. I will say I honestly don't think you could have a bad seat in this theater though. The sound is usually fine, but I will say for Moulin Rouge I had trouble hearing what they were saying especially during the songs. I love that everyone is always so helpful when trying to find your seat, they will walk you to your section and show you exactly where you need to go, which is nice because it can get chaotic with so many people ushering in. Overall this is a great location and the shows they have are amazing. Definitely reccomend looking at the season and seeing what they have to offer, they're is usually something for everyone

Ok so I will split this into two reviews:…read more 1: the ships and actual adventure 2: the reservation process and customer service 1: booked a trip for the Spanish replica ship adventure the San Salvador and really loved it. The ticket also got you access to the other ships to walk around which was cool. But the coolest part was that San Salvador was sailed like they would have sailed it waaay back when. We got to see real rigging masts sails steering all being done by a crew and it was a totally amazing experience and such a perfect day. Bonus: we saw dolphins and it was a perfect day. Drawback: the gentlemen speaking throughout didn't talk into his mic often so missed a lot but oh well - who's really going for history?! such a good time!!. 2. I had a good with my tickets and called and tried to talk to folks in person and could never get someone. The tickets were cancelled but not refunded which was a bummer and staff in the kiosk even said they phone lines were messed up. A bummer. :(

The Maritime Museum of San Diego is honestly one of the most impressive history museums I've…read morevisited because the artifacts are the museum. You aren't just looking at history -- you're surrounded by ships that actually survived it. The Star of India, launched in 1863, survived mutiny, violent storms, collisions at sea, and decades carrying immigrants across dangerous oceans. Some sailors believed the ship was cursed after captains died during early voyages, yet somehow she survived long enough to become the oldest active sailing ship in the world. HMS Surprise shows the brutal reality of naval warfare during the Age of Sail. Ships like this once carried enough cannon firepower to destroy enemy vessels while sailors lived packed below deck surrounded by gunpowder, disease, and fear of battle. The Berkeley steam ferry even helped evacuate survivors during the 1906 San Francisco earthquake while much of the city burned. One of the most fascinating exhibits is the Soviet B-39 submarine from the Cold War. The inside is unbelievably cramped and gives you a real sense of what life was like beneath the ocean during one of the most dangerous periods in modern history. The USS Dolphin may have been my favorite. This experimental deep-diving U.S. Navy submarine helped test advanced underwater technology and launched the deepest-fired torpedo in naval history. The museum also includes the San Salvador, recreating the ship that explored California's coastline in 1542 -- long before America existed as a country. What makes this place incredible is the timeline it creates: 1500s exploration... 1800s global sailing... steam-powered industry... world wars... Cold War submarines... All sitting together in one harbor. This place doesn't just teach maritime history -- it shows how ships shaped exploration, immigration, trade, warfare, and entire empires.

I'm from New Orleans and have yet to find a true snowball spot outside of there, so I wasn't about to turn around. The line looked intimidating at first, stretching to the door, but it actually moved pretty quickly. It took about 10 minutes to order and get my food, which was a pleasant surprise. I ordered the small passionfruit shaved ice stuffed with avocado pistachio ice cream and topped with condensed milk. The ice cream alone deserves its own moment. It was easily some of the best I've had. Rich, creamy, and genuinely impressive. The shaved ice, though, didn't land the same way for me. The menu leans heavily into fruit flavors, which just don't pair that well with something like pistachio or chocolate-based ice cream. The passionfruit itself was pretty tart, which might work on its own, but it clashed with the creaminess of the ice cream. I found myself wishing they had options like coconut, amaretto, or chocolate syrups to balance things out better. Also, coming from New Orleans, I'm used to condensed milk being layered throughout, not just on top. It makes a difference in every bite. And honestly, the price here is noticeably higher for something that didn't quite hit the same. I'd come back for the ice cream without hesitation. As for the shaved ice, it just didn't quite deliver that nostalgic snowball experience I was hoping for. The service was phenomenal though. And it was a lively crowd.
