Bathrooms had hot showers with solid water pressure, which is never guaranteed at an RV park and always appreciated after a long day on the road. We were passing through on a road trip and stayed one night in our rooftop tent. For a single-night stop, this place delivered everything you'd want. We arrived in Sumpter about 10:30pm, We had no reservations and this was the first place we saw so we stopped. Being so late the office was closed so we took a chance and called the number we were so pleased to get a live person answering our call. Sherry came down to the office and got us checked in for our stay. We found out that Sherry and Ron had just purchased the park and have been busy cleaning the public areas and making renovations. Pride of ownership and great customer service shone through. We had a great stay and will be back!

We had a grassy area to the right with a picnic table and a nice tree for some shade in the heat of the day. There is a nice area for tents. There are two restrooms and 8 private showers. All of the staff were nice as were the other campers. No issues with loud noise at all. We will definitely stay again when our travels bring us this way. Around the area....shopping and anything you might need is in Boise about a half hour away. We went to Lucky Peak State Park. It has a river, a lake and a dam, and a nice sandy beach. There's a nice grassy area at the park with tables for picnics. The drive is beautiful and not too long. Majestic mountain views.

It looked like a construction site. There was minimal shade coverage, piles of gravel and dirt, and it felt like a vehicle maintenance lot. There was nothing about the place that captured the beauty of the surrounding area, and Sumpter is lovely. We had paid, but just left without asking for a refund. I gave it two stars instead of one because the staff was so nice. Also, I heard the couple just bought the place and are working on it.

I was so excited to visit this place and was hoping it was as good as I hoped. It was! I am hoping to make Idaho a regular trip every summer and if it is, this will be my go to place. This campground has full hookups. The pads are long. Granted, we only have a 17' trailer but it was nice to have a pull through (others are back ins). Our spot had a little 2 person table on a patch of grass as well as a slab of concrete (perfect for our chairs). The unique part of this location is that it has a pond which looks like it's just for looks but actually you are allowed to swim in it. We brought our floaties and just enjoyed the water falling on us as we floated around. The location has a community building that is VERY clean. You can do laundry here or play games. They also have showers that normally have towels but they were all used by the time we finished in the pond. Propane: You just let the office know, put the tank on your number, then someone comes by, takes it, fills it up, returns it. So convenient. In the evening it is pretty quiet. We had our bikes so rode around the park. Very tranquil. There is a donut shop about a block away. We rode our bikes to it on the next day. Before we left, the owner stopped by and I felt that I was meeting a celebrity. I had read her blog from the start to the last one so felt that I knew her already. Definitely make this your stop when in Nampa or Boise. Not a lot of shade but because the way we were angled in spot #38, the sun hitting us was not a problem. Oh, before I forget, they have a decent size dog park so your pup(s) can run around.

Lots of good places to eat just a few minutes away (Sweet Wife bakery and Inland Cafe were both worth returning to). There's a nice big Albertsons grocery and a big Ace Hardware. Great little town!

It was kind of near the river/launch ramp. Not much of a view. I think this location of the snake river just isn't all that nice. A lot of brown yuck and lots of flies and gnats. Had to be careful to keep our mouths closed! When I went to use the bathroom, the light wouldn't work! I tried a couple different switches (they're outside) nothing! So I had to leave the door wide open for the natural light to come in. I don't get it? Why not have a light switch inside the bathroom? Anyway definitely clean - very outdated. The camp host was nice, she saw us come in and kind of chased us down on her little golf cart and actually came around my husband's blind side and he almost ran her over! We were a little confused by the way she snuck up on us. I'm not sure if I would recommend coming here ? Definitely not an "Oasis on the Snake" Of all the RV parks that we have been to on our 2 Week road trip, this was by far our least favorite.
