I took bids for a complete paint job and wood rot repair on my house. Brogan had what seemed to be a reasonable bid, so I planned to give them the job pending meeting at the house in person. The bid was for $4,275.00. When I met with Ed Brogan at the house, the first thing he said was, "I went to the wrong house." I thought he was explaining why he was several minutes late for our meeting. But no. He siad, "I actually went to the wrong address when I was quoting your job," on a house one block over. I asked what that meant to my project. He said, "Well, I'm done. I can't do your house for less than $7,500.00." So he wanted $3,225 more than he quoted. I asked him if he was willing to reduce his $7,500 bid since it was his mistake. He got angry at just the question. I told him I had quoted much work in my career, and if I underbid or missed something, I took the hit and did the project for what I quoted. It was like he couldn't understand what I was saying. He started shaking his head. I said, "I think doing the job at or near what you quoted is the honorable thing to do." His response was to turn his back on me and start walking away. I said, "excuse me," and he turned back, only to say, remarkably, "I'm nice and you're not nice." What? Now he's going to insult me? Ed Brogan is not an honorable person, and in fact sent off all of the vibes of a bait-and-switch con man. Who drives to the wrong address when you have GPS? Who doesn't stand behind their quote? Who won't even try to find a middle ground? Deal with Brogan's Home Painting at your great peril. You are guranteed an unpleasant experience, and with his attitude about customers, who knows what kind of job they will do. The experience was so unpleasant that I wish I could give Brogan a minus rating. It's a company owned by a dishonest person. BTW, I had a witness to this whole conversation. read more

I needed to have some touch up work done on my home. Brogan's got the job done quickly with no mess. The painter who did the job was friendly and a joy to work with. He did a great job repairing spots where the paint had separated from the wall or ceiling. He also fixed where the drywall joints had come apart. He made the walls and ceiling look brand new again! He was also very careful not to get paint on any fixtures, outlets, light switches, baseboards, etc. That's something I'm a bit particular about and he did a awesome job! We were very pleased overall with the experience of hiring Brogan's Home Painting to paint our home. They were able to get to the work very quickly and did a genuinely good job of painting with little evidence of it left behind. We love the bright new color on our house and are grateful for the overall professionalism of the painters who worked on our house. Their price was very reasonable for the work they performed. The only reason they get 4 stars instead of 5 is that they didn't do a walk around with us after the job was completed. Had they done so, some stuff that they missed likely would have been caught. We noted after the painters left that there was some metal flashing that was only partially painted and some of the ends of gutters that were not painted. They did come back very quickly to correct these mistakes, but it would have been better if this would have been noted before they left. We too experienced horrible construction issues with Brogan's Home Painting. Just like John and A.A., wood rot was repaired using particle board :O!!!! And major interior rain leakage/damage into the house from improper materials and workmanship. I would never recommend this company to anyone. And also no response from owner of the company either as others have reported - once something major happens to your house, they will not fix or respond to the resulting/domino effect damage. read more

Brogan's Home Painting did an exceptional job on our home. We have an all stucco exterior with a large amount of trim and timber. Ed's crew did an exceptional job of preparing and were very clean. We have hired a number of Kansas City painters from different homes we have lived in and have hired various Overland Park and Olathe painting contractors. So far, Brogan's home painting has offered the best quality for the price. One other note, we really liked that they provided the right amount of caulk - anymore you see homes being painted where the caulk is slopped all over the houses. I worked directly with Brandt Brogan on a very small project. My house is fairly new but had some settling cracks throughout various areas of the house. I asked Brandt to repair the cracks and match the paint. Brandt gave me a reasonable price and completed the project very quickly. All the paint matched very well and you can't see the old cracks. Brandt was honest about how well some cracks might repair versus others and did his best to make all of them disappear. Invoicing and billing was online via PayPal making payment very easy.
