We had a prime rib French dip that was delicious. The cream of potato bacon was good as well, a bit salty for my liking. Paige our waitress was so nice. Their display of fresh pies look amazing. This particular truckstop is very clean and has great souvenirs. I WOULD recommend for sure. read more

Waitresses are usually by themselves, causing all the tables to wait hours. Especially on Sundays. I know that's not their fault, it's the managers and owners. They need to have at least two waitresses for every shift. The other day, I was eating there and watched one of the cooks dumped used syrup back into the container of syrup, (taken from someone's plate they had just finished eating off of)! How disgusting! Who knows what that person had done to that syrup. The waitresses put up with a lot and it seems like the manager has no care for them at all. Tonight's waitress was very kind though. Yes as stated by some other yelpers, the building is old and tired. The bathroom has seen finer days and it is a truck stop so it gets used a lot. Sometimes I will avoid eating at a place that has this much of a haggard looking appearance and usually I avoid truck stops. I am glad that my inner self told me to give it a try. It was a seat yourself situation so I found a booth along the far wall. A tall cup of coffee was offered by my waiter post haste. The place is filled with all men and most of them probably truckers. The décor is what you expect from a restaurant attached to a gas station / c store but it seemed clean. I ordered 2 eggs over easy ( I like sunny side up but short order cooks usually mess them up ), hash browns, whole wheat toast and bacon. My breakfast showed up and everything was cooked perfectly, the potatoes were browned and crispy, the eggs cooked right and toast that was not a bread hybrid. The bacon was big, lots of it and just on the edge of crispy. The coffee was pretty weak compared to most places I grab breakfast at but it was fuel for me. My waiter was doing his job and he was pretty efficient and restocking or cleaning when not waiting tables. I got a lot of good food at a very reasonable price, I think I got out for $12.00 including the tip. I travel by Douglas, Wy frequently and I will make this a fuel and food stop on my list. read more

I go out of my way to eat here. I am actually getting ready to go now. The prime rib special on Friday was so good. The meatloaf was amazing last time I had it. I am from Louisiana and love the sweet tea. Service is great and they have a huge selection of dessert. They serve beer here but no liquor. Best truck stop food I can remember. read more

I've given this restaurant about 6 tries to impress me in the slightest, it hasn't happened. Whether it be poor customer service, poor waitressing or absolute garbage food quality, my wife and I have consistently come out dissatisfied with our experience. This particular and last instance her chicken sandwich was borderline inedible and she left over half it uneaten, to top it off the mayonnaise that came with it was so old it had a gelatinous texture and quality. This is an ok place if you need a quick meal while on the road in the middle of almost nowhere Wyoming...The Broken Wheel Truckstop and Restaurant was a refueling station, with a basic truckers' breakfast (we passed up on the steak and eggs) and kind waitresses who kept pouring the coffee. The scrambled eggs were fine, the hash browns were not crisp enough - though this happens in many places; what's with that? The coffee was decent and provided the fuel we needed to get back in the car and drive on. Plenty of locals were enjoying breakfast and conversation so don't "so long" the Broken Spoke if you need a warm meal while on the road. read more

Asked for high chair and was told they didn't have any and the waitress walked right past a whole stack of them so I got my own. Asked what kind of pie they had and she told me to just go look and I asked if they were labeled and were told "no but it's not that hard to figure out what they are". Stopped at the Broken Wheel tonight. I don't recommend ordering the Ribeye steak! Ever! I don't think they know what a ribeye is, but it wasn't what I got. A thick cut of steak, super tough to chew, like the proverbial shoe leather. Mashed potatoes are real potatoes but many pieces in them have undercooked cold pieces, like the potatoes were cooked last week and then possibly frozen only to be microwave thawed. I had high hopes, started out well with homemade tomato soup. My hopes were quickly dashed. I thought, "hey, we are in beef country, how bad can their steak be" so I broke my rule about not buying steaks in restaurants (as they usually suck) and it was only $14.95 for a rib eye dinner. 24 hr restroom brought us in here during the night and we decided to get breakfast too! Great flavors in their eggs & French toast, friendly staff.
