The wildlife viewing was spectacular, and we were absolutely charmed by a large pod of baby seals. Kevin Pratt, the owner and captain, has spent a small fortune restoring the vessel and earning it an excellent rating for safety. Kevin is a gem. Not only is he totally professional and a top-notch sailor, he's also one of the nicest persons you would want to spend an afternoon with.

There is also a porta potty The area is small due to private land on either side, which includes the beach. What there is was nice with easy beach access, fishing, swimming, and a good show from the Naval Air Station. If you want to watch jets roar overhead, this is about as close as the public can get. We love planes, so this was a doubly good spot. There is a bench for sitting and loads of driftwood that allows different areas to park your behind and watch the surroundings. A very nice place to visit that is a little off the beaten pass.

It's a small, but mighty, little strip of land that's bordered on three sides by private property, so while it might not be a great place to hang out with 1000 of your closest friends, you can't beat the vibe here for a small romantic picnic or playtime with the kid. The beach is pretty typical PNW: driftwood, rocks, mud, and lots of stinky seaweed to give the place atmosphere. We were there at low tide, so it definitely had wading potential (if you're into cold, Puget Sound water). The thing I liked most, besides the stunning views out to the Olympics, was that there were only two other people on the beach. This would also be a great place for some sea kayaking on a calm day. There is a port-a-potty in the small parking lot, but other than that there are few amenities here, so bring along your own water, shade, and seating. But if you're looking to cross yet another gorgeous PNW beach off your list, this one is definitely worth a visit.

Since I bought the boat a variety of issues have come up and some required replacement parts others just maintenance work. It has been my experience that Flower's does good work at a very fair price. Joe, the owner, is one of the more enjoyable people to deal with. He is patient and will explain what they are doing in a manner that is easy to understand. He and his mechanic are also VERY willing to give advice on work that you might undertake yourself and avoid a trip to the shop. All in all, a great business to do work with.

Has a porta potty but it has not been kept clean I would rather do my business in the bushes. The first part of the hike is steep uphill switchbacks before you get to the actual loop around the lake. Then it is mostly flat and easy and has a couple benches to stop at. Has some other trails that branch off, but there are signposts to tell you where to go. Nice dog friendly hike.

The dog that we brought with us couldn't help but jump in the water and the mud and get all dirty. There are so many slugs but they won't bother you. You can even take lessons or join one of their sales. The museum is free and it's not huge, but it's really nice. There's a "sister museum " on Camano Island but it's currently closed. I recommend Center For Wooden Boats if you're in the Lake Union area and are looking for a fun way to spend a few hours. The downside to this place is that, despite the parking lot right out front, the parking comes with a fee and the spaces fill up quickly. The streetcar stops right in front, but as a former volunteer it's inconvenient for me due to the time and amount of transfers it takes to get here using public transportation. But it's a fun place so if you don't mind the lack of free (and sometimes even paid parking is non existent) parking, this place is worth a visit

There is no better view of South Lake Union than the CWB piers and it is fun to take the kids for the boats as well as to watch the sea planes from Kingfisher Air take off. Kids LOVE sea planes. The have free weekend sails and the summer festival is a great way to spend a warm sunny day in the city. This is SUCH a gem in the middle of the city. Walking the piers is fantastic, the boats and the boat shop will make you want to pick up a mallet and chisel. The park that sits between the CWB and MoHAI is great in the summer. Parking can be sketchy right in front, but it is serviced by tram.
