This is such a good place to relax and family bonding, and good place for crabbing as well.

Great place by the beach for outside BBQ with lots of people. We spent July 4th here with friends and family. Though there were so many people I couldn't imagine before arriving. You can tell by "beach parking full" sign right at the gate. Thanks to my friend arrived at 7 am to secure the BBQ grill and the picnic tables. The parking is now $10 per day that includes launch who brings boats with them. It was the first day for crabbing so that with July 4th crowds occupied the entire beach. There are so many grills, and some shelters which you can reserve ahead for $70 or so. A lot of others just secure the grill and brought their own portable gazebo. The beach is not too bad, not the sand beach more like small rocks. Some kids were swimming in the cold water with lots of seaweeds. There were small boats, kayaks and jet skis. There is hardly any waves during the day so it's easy to manage. Wish they have sand courts with nice nets that we could play volleyball. read more

Great little spot to come and enjoy for a few hours. Entrance fee is $10. Parking takes some patience, but luckily we got one pretty quick. We surveyed the picnic tables and got one too. Many people come out for the day to lounge, bbq, and fish. Definitely worth checking out, but get there early to save yourself a spot read more

First sunny day over spring break and I took the kids here to do a little beach combing, and exploring a new beach. Some have complained about paying to park but I didn't mind. It was well maintained and has a pretty great play structure and clean bathrooms. Worth the money. We wandered up and back down along the beach, skipping rocks and snapping pictures. We found a little seal sunning himself as well which was fun. The kids have already said that this was one of their favorite parks, between the climbing cover and the fascinating shells and rocks they found I can imagine we will be coming back again this summer. Kayak Point is really great! The beach is quite long with a huge supply of driftwood and several fire rings, first come first served. There are also open and covered picnic tables. It's a fun place to go to build a fire, roast some hot dogs and enjoy the beach. The beach is rocky and due to all the driftwood, not barefoot/flip flop friendly so wear tennis shoes when you come here. It costs $5 to enter the park. When it's a nice day and the parking lot is packed down by the beach, be prepared to park at the entrance and hoof it downhill about 1/4-1/2 mile. It's open sunrise to sunset so expect the rangers to start come through when the sun is an hour away from setting to tell you to put out your fire and start packing up. There's a nice fishing pier. I've seen fish jumping like crazy in the water. I don't fish but I'd imagine this is a hot spot for that. I've seen a whale passing through, just about 100 yards away from the beach! I've also spotted bald eagles. There are yurts and campsites to rent too. There are restrooms on site vs. port-a-potties. read more

We stopped here in our way from adopting a rescue dog. So much driftwood! I didn't see a sign saying you can't take any so I took a couple pieces. Nice place to sit and ponder or walk along the shore. It has bathrooms and plenty of parking. Bring your kayak! read more

Very private not many people on the one side. Lots of jungle gym equipment for the kids. Plenty of open grass for some fun in the sun. My favorite was walking along the coast and wading in the water. Very clean, friendly staff at the entrance office. I think it would be an epic spot to fly a kite with the winds there. read more

Another year, another Girl Scout camping trip. I have the worst time remembering to book early enough to get into a state park, so after a bit of googling I discovered Kayak Point County Park. They have a fairly new Yurt area (which is what my girls like) so off we went. The good: It is close enough to Seattle to not be a really severe drive on a Friday afternoon. It is clean and small enough so that you feel comfortable there. There are enough fun things to do - playground, dock to fish off, boat launch, picnic tables. It is really pretty. Newly built yurts are comfortable. The bad: It can be crowded. - We were there the last weekend in June. Not a lot of trails to explore. Campsites are all UP hill so it is easy to get down to the beach in the AM but coming back after a long day at the beach is a bit hard. :) All in all it was a pretty nice place to go. We had a really fun time and enjoyed our stay. read more

5 stars all around. Camped 3 nights (Thrs-Sun) which was ample time to take in all the activities. The campground is very kid and beginner-friendly, with water/power at every site and a central bathroom close by. There's also an inconspicuous fence along the West end of the grounds so kids can't wander to the water. Take a short walk down to the park for beach activities, bbq's, fishing off the dock, and a nice playground. It does get crowded on Saturday, but that just speaks to how nice it is! Will definitely be back. read more

Stayed two nights in yurt 10, arrived Sunday left Tuesday, $158 for both nights. The first night was peaceful, yurt was clean but smelled strongly like wet dog. The second night was aweful, a group moved into the other yurts in "yurt village" and stayed up all night being loud. My husband tried to find a ranger or host but all were conveniently absent. My husband did talk to the group but they were so drunk they didn't care. We didn't get much sleep. Yurt 10 is great because it's not in yurt village, it's a little off to the side by itself. But it's still a yurt and the walls are paper thin which isn't a problem as long as people are respectful after 10pm. The beach was outstanding and yurt 10 has a private trail down to it. The playground was like no other we've seen, it looks like so much fun. read more

We decided to go out to Kayak Point to have a picnic and be outside for a little bit in the midst of COVID. Many other beaches are extremely crowded and hard to maintain physical distancing. There is plenty of space at kayak point to spread out, and everyone is respectful of each other's space. The park was had a fair amount of people on a Tuesday night, but everyone remained far apart- that's easier with a lot of space. As the tide rolled in, many people began moving around, however everyone was still respectful of physical distancing. The reason I take a star off is because of the parking fee. I don't have a problem with the idea of a fee, but $10 for a county park seems a little steep to me. It doesn't matter if you stay for 10 minutes or 10 hours, the fee still applies. I think it might be better to knock it down a few bucks. That being said, the view was great and we had a lovely picnic. read more

I thought it would be fun to take the family yurting here for a weekend in April. Yes, we expected the weather could be quite bad but I thought it still could be fun. We did have a wonderful time. We've stayed in other Snohomish County yurts before so we knew what to expect and the yurts here were up to par with what we've stayed in elsewhere. The yurts here are grouped rather close, but they do have a really nice covered group area inside the yurt village that I haven't seen elsewhere. This would be a great yurt village to rent for a large group! I would say the best yurts for privacy would be #10 (by far the most private yurt!), #1 and #2. #7 has a deck and #8 and #9 have a "yard" that we found good for our kids to play around in. The park is lovely, has a great playground, lots of beach space. It is a rocky beach though, not really any sand. Our kids came toting sand toys and they didn't really work out! We did end up staying only one night instead of two, though that wasn't the parks fault. It was my 2.5 year olds fault for not wanting to hang out in the nice warm yurt when the wind started whipping up the hill and freezing us! I was a tired and very cold Mommy so we decided to head home. The only real con was that the yurt host sold us sopping wet wood that would barely burn. I'm not talking a bit damp... I'm talking totally soaked wood. Without a nice warm fire to huddle around, it did put a damper on our evening. The next morning my husband went to Walmart and got some dry wood and we used that to burn our wet wood but it was pretty disappointing that we would be sold such a poor quality product. The host was also off on the weekend which seemed strange. Off on the weekends, the busiest time of the week? We'd come back but in the summer when chasing a toddler around would be more enjoyable :) read more

Pro: Big roomy campsites, beautiful beach, easy launch. Con: Beware of the camp host nazis. Not so hot crabbing. TURN off the lights at night - I've never seen so many all-night lights in a campground, pretty annoying. I agree with a previous poster that more hiking trails would be a nice touch It's also sad to see so much English ivy taking over the forest - perhaps a good project for a local scout troop? Can't do much about the topography, prepare yourself for a steep hike up and down the hill. The yurts rather tickled me. read more

Kayak Point County Park is my favorite Snohomish county beach to go to it offers a nice small forest hike and a nice lovely view of the ocean. Paying for parking here is only worth it if you buy the annual pass and go there often otherwise paying for a one day pass is quite costly. Fishing off the piers is great to catch flounders, pile perches, dog fish sharks, kelp green greenling and also crabs during crabbing season. Has a south and north field that people can play volleyball, soccer, football etc. Has plenty of picnic tables some with BBQ grills. read more

The camping area is not very trailer friendly. The sites are extremely unlevel, dirt and have trees extremely close. Yikes! When I called to make the reservations, I specifically asked if the sites were power and water and was told yes to both. Power only! We were told it was ok if we had a Y connecter we could hook to water if it was next to our spot. How about just give the correct answer in the first place. The camping area is more geared to tent camping. Beautiful beach area! Filthy restrooms! Personally, we won't go back. read more

Really enjoyed this place. Lots of beach only wish it was sandier. Parking seems to be a problem as we were forced to park in the overflow lot at the top of the hill. Did not enjoy the walk back up that's for sure. Nice play area, clean beach, BBQ & fire pits, picnic tables, big grass field, etc... Could use a snack bar though. Overall, great place. read more

$10 to park there? Really? Not a dollar or two, but 10 bucks. Now wonder there were only 3 cars there. I certainly didn't pay and didn't stay. I just drove down to look. Use to love this park as I grew up nearby. 10 bucks is crazy! Want to watch the sunset? It'll cost you $10. Want to toss the ball with the kids? 10 bucks. This is a county park and they don't even honor the park passes that many people have already. They are certainly pricing it so that many people will say 'no thank you' and go somewhere else and that's really too bad because it is a nice park that people should be able to enjoy. read more

Such an amazing County Park. There really is something for everyone here. The beach itself was relatively quiet for having such a busy parking lot. We waiting in the line to get in for 25 minutes late Saturday afternoon. But we all agreed it was worth it. There are tiny crabs running all over the beach that the kids had fun watching. The pier was fun to walk out in. We swam in the ocean. And the best part - the bathrooms were clean. You do have to pay $10 to get in, so be prepared. But it's worth it! read more

It's a fun park, but the parking fee is high and it's not possible to get there via public transportation (to my knowledge). There's a nice beach and play area, but you can find 50+ other parks in the area that offer everything Kayak Point does. Save your $7 parking fee and get your kids an ice cream cone after playing at different park. read more

Beautiful beach and picnic area. Great peir for fishing and crabbing. Unfortunately they don't have a lot of parking so you have to get there early. Fire pits/BBQ great for families and kids. Huge park with lots of grass play area. Playground for kids. They also have undercover rental areas near the beach. Cost to park is $10 or if you have a pass. I love this park. It's one of the reasons I get the Discover Pass every year. What a view! They have an amazing playground that I would have loved as a kid, and it was recently redone so it's going to have all the bells and whistles. The view of the Sound is fantastic- unbeatable really. The park has ample picnic areas and also fishing from the little dock. The restrooms are clean and indoors- no portapotties here. This park really makes the best of this beautiful Pacific Northwest location. read more

This used to be one of my go-to beaches in the north end, but I'm finding it rather ridiculous that one must pay a $10 fee to park here now. There are plenty of other beaches around with similar amenities (minus the Yurt village) where parking comes free. The lack of railroad tracks alongside this beach is favorable, in my opinion. Good dock-fishing and clean restrooms save this park from a 1-star rating! read more

Beautiful park. Sadly the park Ranger is not informed on when dusk is. The gate going down to the park is closes 10 to 15 minutes before sunset. Dusk is generally 30 minutes after sunset. It cost $10.00 for a day pass and many only come to watch the sunset. How much money is the county losing? read more

Camped for two nights here last weekend. First off, beautiful beach and playground/field area. Enjoyed the low tide with the kids, finding all sorts of sea life including sea stars, crabs, clams, etc. Played a little game of ultimate frisbee on the field area, which was generously sized and could accommodate multiple parties. Campground was okay. Sites are pretty close together (at least ones by our site #25) so not a lot of privacy. And not a lot of level sites either. Restroom was okay but could have been cleaner. Lots of rules, since it's a county park (which could be good or bad depending on your perspective) but there didn't appear to be much enforcement. I probably wouldn't return here to camp again if it were my choice. read more

Camping with an rv at $40 per night (which did not include sewer) was a bit expensive and then find out there is no rv dump on-site. Park is nice but overpriced for value received. Not sure I would return. read more

In looking at the past reviews, I had to look a few times to make sure I had the right area. Yes i definitely have the right area. The camping area that we were at was absolutely one of the most picturesque that we have ever been to. We happen to come across this place when we had camped previous at another site and were traveling around sightseeing the area. What a find! It looks like there has been some new work done and it's evident. We have a 32 foot trailer and were very happy about the size of the sites, which was a pull thru for this visit. The pull thru area was big, we were able to fit our truck, the trailer and two other vehicles. Hooks up included water and electricity. None of the sites that we could see had sewer hook ups, which was a bummer but bathrooms were pretty close. The sites all include picnic tables and a fire pits. We took a stroll around the camping area and all of the sites were very nice; there is also a yurt village which is super cute, housing quite a few yurts, placed pretty far apart for privacy. The yurt village also has a bbq area with picnic tables. It's a really nice area. The roads leading into the park and all through it, look to be new and were nice indeed. This place has tons of trees and it's simply beautiful. We didn't get down to spend much time at the beach as it was still cold for this time of the year, but our intent was to camp. I was absolutely bummed that as I was looking to reserve for a site in August they all and I mean all taken for every weekend in the month. Well I won't make that mistake next year. We plan to come back as much as we can. It's a relaxing, beautiful, peaceful place to visit. read more

We are a local family who bought the Discovery Pass thinking we would be able to enjoy this Kayak Point Park, which is only a mile away from us, as well as the Lake Goodwin Wenberg Park. NEITHER OF THESE PARKS ACCEPTS THE DISCOVER PASS!! It is specified on the DMV website where I purchased the pass along with my car tabs. I found it in VERY small print on the Parks and Recreation window of the County website. They should be ashamed of their deceptive advertising! These used to be state and county parks but they changed the signs to Regional Parks and everyone in our neighborhood who bought these passes for our families bought if for nothing. Plus these parks now charge $7 to get in instead of $5 like it used to be. All of us locals are very dissappointed. If you want to buy a pass for these regional parks, its $70!!! Sounds great if you don't want to feed the kids. I can't believe county government is now in the business of shady advertising - and how much did tax payers' have to pay for the park sign changes? read more
