Now I have been playing catch up, and they have been trying to take payments out without telling me the dates. I was prepared to pay the payments but I needed time as I couldn't afford 700 in one month. They have taken NO accountability for the situation THEY put me in. We signed up for rental insurance towards the end of August 2018. Unfortunately as there was a…read moresignificant increase in crime throughout Halifax Regional Municipality and this lead to the decision to take out rental insurance with TD Insurance. As we already had banking with TD getting our insurance through them was a natural choice. This choice soon became an 7-month nightmare which subjected us to unanswered calls from our claims officer Troy Read along with improper handling of the claim from day one. It was not until almost 2-months into the grueling process that the police report had been filed. We had to resubmit the proof of loss form and supporting documentation towards the middle of January. Not this week but the previous week I tried numerous times throughout the week to contact Mr. Read via Telephone and email my calls and emails were not returned. I would caution anyone from doing business with TD Insurance. We should have taken our insurance out with a better organization such as RBC Insurance. The way that TD Insurance is treating this matter would suggest that it is a significant claim. The claim requested is under $5,000.00. We have a complaint in with the Better Business Bureau and the matter is being review by the TD Ombudsman yet again. Perhaps this time these efforts will result in right thing being done after all this time which is the payout of this claim.

I bought a new car and called from the dealership to switch coverage from the old car to the new one. On hold for 40 minutes, Person 1 said she couldn't handle a Nova Scotia policy so she would transfer me. She didn't. She put me back in the queue and I waited 45 minutes. I swear the person I ended up with was someone's child helping them out or someone who had just started the job that day. It took her almost an hour and she put me on hold 5 times!! I know things are strained because of Covid but there is NO way that it should have taken over 2 hours to make the switch. The Financial Services Manager was aghast and gave me the card for another agency so looks like it's time to switch
