Well, Yelp won't let me post a new review, only update this one. Today, 2/24/19, gumbo, while mostly rice, was good & the Caesar chicken wrap was delicious. We used a gift certificate & got our order to-go. Staff was very friendly--especially Shannon! 5 stars today. Previous review: Bromas chips were divine. Gumbo was delicious. Philly cheesesteak, not so much. Meat was almost inedibly dry, cheese was in a solid lump, bread so chewy I couldn't bite through it, like it had been heated in a microwave too long. A girl with pretty blue eyes took my order and recommended a turkey club. I added avocado and she was impressed. Haha Sandwich was good except that the avocado wasn't ripe so it was super hard. I just took it off. It was still a killer sandwich. Broccoli soup was runny for my taste but a couple crackers fixed it up. It's worth a stop if you're headed that way. Honestly, I don't see what all the hype is about. The service was horrible. The girl who took my order acted like I was inconveniencing her and the server literally just sat my food on the table and walked off. The food itself was just ok. Good sandwich shop. They salads are good too. The sweet tea is the best in town. My favorites are the Natchez Ave French dip and the maneater wrap is my most favorite. It isn't on the menu though. My wife is a big fan of the chicken salad salad. Yes I said salad salad. Make sure to ask for the Broma chips with ranch. Those are the best. read more

Giving 4 instead of 5 only because I had a salad. The tacos, wraps, and hamburgers on other people's plates all looked great. I've been a fan of this restaurant for a long time. The muffaletta is great! Really all of the sandwiches are fantastic. The management is always friendly and kind when I see them. Many people don't realize how great the desert selection is. They have a fantastic bakery in the kitchen! The bread putting is my favorite. It used to be my Sunday morning staple. read more

My sister and I stopped here on our way to New Orleans as per a recommendation from a friend, and we were not disappointed! It's close to the interstate, but so much better than some fast food joint - though the food is fast! :) We both ordered chicken sandwiches. I had a club while my sister ordered the melt. The chicken was so moist! The bread was fresh! Perfect sandwich, and the to-go cup is huge, and hard plastic, so... a souvenir! The homemade chips were a little chewy instead of crispy, but I admire them for making their own. Loved the outdoor patio, and my dog was happy to not have to stay in the car. read more

It looks like a clone of McAllisters but I like the menu selection better and to me the food has a bit of an edge over Mc's. Its mostly sandwiches and all that I have tried are very good. We were there at lunch and it gets very busy very quickly but they handle it fairly well. I'll go back and recommend it to my friends. read more

It's worth a try, but I always seem to walk away feeling like I just didn't get good value for my money spent. Yeah, the tea is fantastic, as is several of the menu items, but seating can become quite cramped at the lunch hours. Don't expect great service, or service of any kind for that matter! I am downgrading this review because I don't think I've gotten what I've ordered since I last reviewed it 3 years ago. While I still love the turkey sandwich on a croissant, I hardly ever get what I order. Every time I pass thru Brookhaven, I have to stop but always have to get them to remake it or bring out the lettuce for me to dress the sandwich myself. We went this past weekend and even joked with the cashier about how my sandwich is never what I order, and she repeated the order and said she would make sure it came out right. This was the worst one yet. I got 1/2 a sandwich after paying for a whole, and on a different bread...plus once again no lettuce or tomato. I have even asked the manager how I can better order to ensure the correct order, and no one seems to know. I guess if you order off the menu with no changes then maybe you're good to go. However, if you don't like sauces and try to get those taken off then you just might end up with nothing at all on your sandwich here... or just a totally different sandwich all together. At least the employees are nice here, hence the 2 star instead of 1. read more

I've been to Broma's several times, but this last time I found out they'd quit having their fish sandwich/poboy. Decided, after some deliberation, to stay and ordered a shrimp poboy. It was good, but it was [very small] for a poboy--compared to others i've gotten across the years and I'm 64 and a male. Way too small for ME to go back. Just didn't feel like I got my money's worth. If through Brookhaven again and I need a place to eat, I'll go elsewhere...due to that. read more

Absolute best fried shrimp po-boy I have ever eaten. Even the pickles on the sandwich were amazing. I'm guessing that this deli may make their own pickles because I've never tasted a fresher or crispier pickle. The French bread was the perfect balance between a crisp crust but soft flakey bread. This one star was generous. IMO. The girl that took our order had very little knowledge of the menu not to mention didn't seem to know the proper way to take an order once given. This restaurant's size would indicate that at some time or another they must serve quite a number of people. However, I can only wonder how judging by our slow service and the fact that several orders were wrong. Staff had to question whether or not we wanted our order corrected. Cashier doubled as a server. This does not speak well of a good restaurant considering those tasks could not be done in close proximity of one another - therefore leaving one thing unattended. The "famous Broma's chips" we're in fact cooked potatoes. However they were completely lacking in any flavor (not salted) and served cold and rubbery for the most part. The hamburger part of my burger was good but that's it. I did enjoy my water as well. The restrooms were disgusting. I didn't inspect the kitchen and it's probably best. I will not revisit this establishment. The only thing I can say is "clean up"!! read more
