I was really excited to get my nails done and since this place was new I thought I'd give it a try but it was far from relaxing. Cleanliness didn't seem to be a priority during my visit. My tech was reusing tools that had not been properly cleaned and even used the same file on themselves. I had a little hangnail that my tech tried to rip off with their own nails and in general was really rough and also ended up filling a sizable chunk of skin off during shaping. When it came time to design and I expressed I wasn't really happy with one of the nails (Speaking up about these things is very anxiety inducing for me cause I don't want to come off rude or annoying and just hate any type of "confrontation")they got frustrated with me and seemed to be during the rest of the appointment despite me being really apologetic about it, because I understand it can be annoying to deal with customers who may come off as needy or picky(I work in the service industry so I def get it even if it's a different type of service ).The transparency about price was vague as well. Half a paycheck for nails that I don't even really like and a "slight injury"just isn't really worth it. The salon had decent reviews and when we called to make appointments and asked the COVID procedures. They told us about partitions, mask policy, and plexiglass at the mani stations. This made us comfortable going there. Though the policy was that all employees and customers must wear a mask, not all employees were, but customers did. My technician was great. My mother in law got a full acrylic set, looks great. And my cousin, who was with us, got her brows done - the tech did a great job but the wax scarred her brow area as it was too hot. I am very disappointed in my experience here. I decided to come after a 12 hour night shift for a…read morequick gel manicure and toe polish before my baby shower. I came when they opened and my service proceeded to take over 1 hour and 20 minutes. Originally, the gel and nail polish colors did not match. Once I noticed, I asked the nail tech before he was too far into painting my nails (he had already done my toe nails). he insisted that they were the same color and showed me the box and the labels multiple times. I tried to show him the difference and he continued anyways. Once he finished the last coat, he acknowledged that the colors were different (it was quite obvious- my nails were peach and my toe nails were baby pink). i asked him if he could help me find a color that is similar to the color on my toes so that we didnt have to to redo them both. I was trying to explain that they did not have to be a perfect match, just similar (where it's not too obvious). He refused, stating that I need to pick out a new color. We then had to redo both for them to match. instead of removing the gel on my fingernails, he added another two layers of the new color. I have 5 layers of gel polish on my natural nails. For my nails to have taken over an hour, they are subpar at best. They are splotchy in some spots and streaky in others. Some nails don't even have polish covering the whole nail. It looks like my cuticles were only halfway done on some fingers. I think I paid $65 for this service, but I can confidently say that I will not be coming back. It should be embarrassing to charge someone for this quality of work.
