The location can be a bit difficult to find if you aren't familiar with the building, which houses a number of different beauty salons/spas. From the front parking lot, go toward the left - the entrance for 2nd and 3rd-floor businesses is tucked away in the side. Go up the stairs/elevator to the third floor, then through the glass doors marked "Jamilla Salon and Spa" and down the hallway to the very end. Aqua Luna is the door on the right, with a cute white wrought-iron sign post over it. I filled out some quick paperwork, then got comfy in the heated bed and relaxed for an hour. Ashley was fantastic about explaining each step as she went along, and there were no bad surprises. I opted for the deep pore facial as I've been breaking out of late, and she gave me some great advice on how to minimize future issues. I also added on the optional enzyme peel, which felt great and left my skin feeling refreshed and oh-so-clean. The environment was soothing, relaxing and very clean; I wasn't at all worried about hygiene or privacy. I've never particularly cared for facials in the past - they're *nice*, but nothing I thought worth writing home about. But my experience at Aqua Luna was fantastic, and I'll not only be back - I'll buy some gift certificates for friends as well. I highly recommend this spot, and am torn between "needing to go back again" and feeling like my skin is clean enough to never need a return visit!

We decided dermaplaning and a vitamin C mask is just what I needed. I enjoyed chatting with Ashley as she made my skin fresh and glowing again. The products she uses smell and feel amazing. The staff made what may seem like a very awkward situation (being naked in front of a stranger) comfortable and professional. I'm pale and I got a light tint airbrush tan. I did take a star off because w/ this being my 1st visit to ATX Tans, Melissa failed to introduce herself to me. I had to introduce myself to her 1st, which then prompted her to tell me her name. Call me a stickler for wanting to know the name of someone who gets the privilege of seeing me in my "birthday suit". Unfortunately, my experience here with Fairy was very different. There was no proper assessment of my skin to determine the appropriate wavelength or energy settings; I was simply told a "medium" setting would be used for a first session for safety. The treatment itself felt rushed, and during the session I noticed that some areas were being missed. Although I shared my past results, I was told by Fairy that IPL can't remove dark spots or freckles, which contradicts both my experience and widely available information about the treatment. After the session, I didn't experience any of the typical post-treatment reactions, such as redness, and I saw no results in the weeks that followed. Overall, this felt like a combination of outdated equipment and limited experience with delivering effective IPL results. I wouldn't recommend this spa for IPL.

She also performs waxing - from brows to bikini. Semia is by far the BEST ever at performing dermaplaning [if you've never heard of or had before do your research first; it's an alternative to microderm and is not at all scary]. There are a few other estheticians in the area who offer dermaplaning; however, the level of education and experience required to perform it safely and effectively can only be gained over the many years of education and experience Semia has. I would never trust anyone else to place a scalpel on my face. And, the results...WOW! After my second treatment with Semia my mother-in-law said I looked 5 years younger since the last time she saw me. *Blush :) As if it could possibly get any better, the treatment includes a relaxing neck and scalp massage. Heaven. No hard, pushy sales. And her prices are very reasonable, especially for the superior quality of service she provides. Her entire goal is to make you look beautiful and feel happy!
