Spa day was a success. I was driving by and decided to see if they could fit me in their busy schedule. Jenn was at the front and from the moment I stepped inside she made me feel relaxed and comfortable. The spa smells so delicious you want to stay all day. I got an invigorating facial and got an amazingly gorgeous spray tan. Jenn knows her stuff and taught me how to extend my golden glow until I could make it back in for my next session. Cathy is an artist! She really takes time to make sure that your tan looks perfect. I've had spray tans before with telltale signs of lines around the wrists or streaking on my legs...but here they're done with perfection. I would come to get my spray tan here no matter what the price, but lucky for me it's also super affordable! I came back home to KC for a visit and needed an airbrush tan before a wedding...I looked on Yelp to find a convenient place, and went in using their $10 off Yelp check in deal. I couldn't be more happy that I did! I have received countless tans in Chicago, and this was by far the best color and most even application I have ever had. I asked my technician to go SUPER light since I'm fair skinned, and she did two light applications. She and the owner were so nice and made the whole process comfortable from start to finish. : ) It didn't smell funky and was such a pretty color...it's not fading funny either which is a bonus. I had very bad experience there ... If you want to do Brazilian wax, find another place.. It was very expensive, the lady was not professional at all ... She left some wax on my ass and leg ... I messed up with my jeans after and couldn't get rid of that wax .. I had to use even peeling ... I was sticky everywhere ... And she didn't wax everything , so I had to shave after ... The stuff there is very friendly but I came there not to make some friends .. Maybe other things they do good but I don't recommend waxing at all, I would better do by myself ... I was told by Cathy black skin they could treat for dark spots. After many treatments and $100's of dollars worth of products/treatments (my opinion snake oil) still no change. My skin got darker and grayish tone. I should of ask if products were approved by FDA. I just stopped going and got advice/cream from my doctor which worked in weeks. I quietly went away figuring this place just not for me until I kept getting messages to come back. After ignoring the "specials" and pleads to come back I decided to let her know that her treatments didn't work. In my opinion this is just a place to get steamed rags N lotion rubbed on face and a bit of chit chat. The face is the first thing ppl see and should not be treated from someone who is clueless. I even went in for removal of blackheads. No good still. I can afford to treat myself well whatever the cost but treatments/products need to work but this place totally missed the mark. Just a warning to others trust the results you see before continuously spending money on NO results. So some advice don't be condescending in response to one's dismay. You ask for it and got it. Not only black skin I could of recommended to your spa but many different types of skin colors. I'll look for the unopened cream and post but I'm sure I just threw away. Take care. read more

I've been to this salon a couple times and got a wax, body scrub, and winter glow tan. I got all of these with Cathy. The wax was the best wax I've ever had. The body scrub was nice before the spray tan because there are areas that are hard to exfoliate yourself. I got the winter glow tan because I am very fair and I didn't want a normal tan. I just wanted a little color to even out the redness in my skin. Overall it looked very nice. The formula is a little sticky so you will be a little sticky for a few hours afterwards, which is totally normal. If you're getting the spray before and event I would be careful about what bra you wear leading up to the event. I don't wear a bra until the next day, but there are very very slight lines where I did. Next time I will wear a strapless bra before wearing my strapless dress. So for the day of and day after I would wear the loosest clothes you have and I wouldn't wear anything that might give you a line where you don't want one if you're getting ready for an event. My tan was applied very evenly and I was so impressed with how good my hands, wrists, feet, knees, and ankles looked. Those areas can go not well, but they looked great. There was one area on my leg that was slightly darker, but no one but me noticed. Cathy is so warm, nice to talk to, and really cares about giving you the best possible service. I could not recommend her more highly. Overall, great experience. I have a bunch more services booked there already. read more

Absolutely fantastic service with Cathy! I came in complaining about all the other waxing experiences Ive had, which were extremely painful, and tore off more skin than hair. She patiently listened to me complain, and then proceeded to give me the most painless, non-irritating, thorough Brazilian Ive ever had. She has a way of making the whole thing feel like a relaxing spa experience, with a clean, well appointed room, music, oil diffuser, etc. I left the salon hair-free, and irritation-free. She also dyed my eyelashes, which felt like a spa treatment on its own. The salon is open late on weeknights, which is a must for anyone working a day job. Thank you Cathy! But I was feeling kind of 'blegh' and decided to give this place a try for a quick facial and an eyebrow wax as a little pick me up. Glad I did! First of all, I love any place that lets me book online and plainly lists open time slots - it was very easy to find an available time that worked around my schedule. The place itself is a soothing, pleasant, comfortable space. My aesthetician, Cathy, was so extremely nice and immediately set me at ease. The facial and wax were both superb. I also appreciated that I got a list of the products that were used in my facial, without any kind of high-pressure sales pitch attached to it. She very specifically told me that my skin doesn't need a lot of product - hah, thanks! - and for the couple of recommendations I did get, I was only encouraged to look up the stuff online to see for myself what I thought, if I were so inclined. I love looking stuff online first! I felt understood. Last thing I'll mention is that checkout is entirely painless. I don't know if this sort of thing matters to anyone else, but I genuinely appreciate having the ability to tip without, ah, needing to make a big production out of it either way. You know? When I try a new place, I always dread that I'll get the receipt and there will be no place to add a tip if one is deserved, and then I have to do the awkward thing of asking. Not so, here! They'll check you out on a tablet, and the tip screen is just one of the screens that you go through and you can discreetly choose to add gratuity or not, no pressure either way. My larger point being, aside from the main services I received, which I felt were of terrific quality - this is a place that gets how to make the entire customer experience smooth and gentle from beginning to end. I highly recommend her as a friendly, gentle, calming, and skilled esthetician with years of experience and extensive knowledge. I've always felt she was honest with me about the current condition of my skin, the outcome I could realistically expect from a procedure, and only recommending products she genuinely thought would benefit my home care. She offers but does not push product sales. I've struggled with PCOS, with one symptom being extensive breakouts along the jawline. I finally became proactive by receiving biweekly microderms. This was a financial commitment on an educator's income, and I was beyond THRILLED when my skin gradually began clearing with the repeated exfoliation of the procedure! My confidence improved so much with clear skin for the first time in years! Cathy and I have discussed PCOS (an endocrine-gynecological condition affecting 15% of women of reproductive age), and she's told me of noticing potentially indicative patterns of acne and body hair growth in young female clients. Especially as PCOS is not well-known, she encourages they seek a physician's assessment. I appreciate her concern for clients' overall health rather than just their treatment that day. I return more occasionally now, but over the couple years I've patronized this spa, the environment has always been clean, pleasant, and not rushed, with services ready to begin on time.
