My husband passed away on March 17, 2024. Of course soon after I received a bereavement letter naming all the resources I could reach out to. Fine. Here is what IS NOT FINE: They continue to send me letters about once a month. At first I just threw them in the trash and thought perhaps someone had mistakenly sent me additional ones in error. After about 4 months I decided to call them and ask them to please, please stop sending them because it is painful to continue to get them because it just brings up the pain since we were married for 57 years! They assured me that they would stop. Guess what? They did not stop! So, I finally wrote them a letter strongly suggesting that they stop sending them. New year and guess what I got today??? Another letter! I called and this time I told them to lose my husband's name on their records or else the next letter I get I won't be calling them - my lawyer will be and I will be suing for harassment!

My dad is a patient with Alzheimer's so his care and environment is very important to the family. Everyone was very attentive and welcomed all of us gracefully. After the two day stay we quickly realized that we needed him closer to family and we entertained another facility, The Palms. Let me say that we did not leave because of anything done wrong here, but just the location. Upon arriving at The Palms and feeling the confusion that everyone had, not to say the ancient equipment and worn down furniture, I started to think that I made a huge mistake. The staff was not motivated and seems exhausted. There were two ladies that tried to make up for it all and were attentive to my dad, but the feeling I got was so overwhelming that I was afraid that my dad would not get the care he deserved. I called Alameda Oaks right away and spoke with Maria and she asked me when I wanted him to be transferred back to them. I told her right away and within 30 minutes they were back to transfer my dad. My dad is sleeping comfortably and I am very happy with the quick service we received. I did read past reviews of Alameda Oaks and although they were not so good, but as avid advocates for my dad, the entire family will monitor all the care that my dad will get on a daily bases.

I would strongly steer clear from this faculty. We placed our mother here as based on their documents, they were experienced in handling patients with Alzheimer's. She was fed incorrect meals causing her to lose weight. We showed up during dinner to find a nurse standing over her motioning to another worker to stop feeding that particular patient. As I approached my mother, I saw she had been crying and was shaking. I asked the nurse what was wrong she responded by saying, " she doesn't want to eat". When we asked the nurse why her plate was a sandwich when her records clearly state, "unable to eat on her own, soft foods only" her response was, "oh". I reported this incident to Administration who seemed the least bit concerned. I followed up with APS and reported this incident to every other authority I could think of. Please, please check all reviews and do your research, we were fooled into believing they cared about our love one. I would not recommend this facility to anyone!!
