A woman by the name of Nancy Tolma called me back. I returned her phone call and was told that they would not show me the home unless I gave them all of my financial information. This home will need major repairs, and my wife and I wanted to see it before we decided to even think of purchasing it. I was told by Mrs. Tolma that this is how they do business and I was welcome to contact the listing agent and have them show me the home. I must say I was quite shocked at the lack of professionalism this person showed me. I understand that you do not want to waste time on people who might not be able to afford the homes they ask to see, but that is part of the real estate business. The listing agent was more than happy to show us the home and did not ask for anything but our names.

When the realtor you hire because it sure seemed like they were tanking the resale market due to having the contract for the new builds in town... Markets your home for about 2 weeks until there is an interested party... Immediately stops marketing your home and takes on the buyer as their next client... Advocates on the buyer's behalf throughout the entire negotiation... Including "recommending" a septic inspector who... shockingly... finds deficiencies in the septic tank that got a clean bill of health two years ago... and then of course bids to replace the septic to the tune of $5,000 while the realtors tell me that I now can't sell the house at all without an upgraded septic. I did manage to draw the line at the new chimneys by literally threatening to walk away from the deal. What a bitter, bitter end to my years in my home town. Yes, I unloaded that house, finally, and significantly contributed to the downward pressure on resale home prices. To my neighbors who will look at what that house sold for and cringe, I'm really sorry. I got screwed and couldn't do anything but hang on for the ride."
