Absolutely gorgeous place! Everyone was nice and welcoming! The flowers were lovely and the sculptures were so beautiful! We took the boat tour and saw a couple alligators, very cool. Very informative and interesting to hear about the history of this place and how they changed everything around! Highly recommended!!

Had a fantastic time at Brookgreen. There is a lot to see and the map is very helpful. There are quite a few sculptures located all around the garden as well. The garden is also well maintained, flowers and plants are also noted. A great place to visit with a lot to see and get plenty of exercise walking.

Brookgreen Gardens is absolutely magical at Christmas time! The gorgeous lights are straight out of an amazing storybook. The gardens are already beautiful with all of the sculptures and statues, when layered with hundreds of thousands of candles and lights, it becomes absolutely breathtaking! The amazing Christmas festival is called Night of 1000 Candles, but there had to be more like 10,000 candles! Walking through the majestic oaks dripping with Christmas lights felt like a Hallmark movie! This would be the perfect spot for a romantic date! We went on a Sunday night and there was a nice variety of food trucks as well as live music. There was a band in the area near the food trucks. We were also delighted to hear the sounds of a bagpipe in the gardens. There are multiple places to eat and drink within the gardens. Everyone that we spoke with was just as amazed as we were! We did not have to park too far away, but traffic did take a while to get to the parking area. I would definitely recommend getting there early. We did not realize how long it would take to walk around and see everything. There is also a pretty impressive train exhibit that the kiddos will definitely love. We can't wait to go again next year!

So much to see and do you will see why your ticket is good for the whole week! The sprawling historic gem has several areas, the sculpture gardens, low country museum, zoo, and botanical gardens to name a few. There's a few play places for kids that looked fantastic, too! We took the Cemetery tour, which only runs from January to February, and it was a fantastic way to see some of the areas most people won't see. Huntington Beach State Park is right across the street, which is owned by Brookgreen and leased to the state. The entire area was once owned by the Huntingtons, and many of the sculptures are actually Anna Hyatt Huntington's!

This garden is beautiful- amazing full grown oaks draped over paths, reflection pools, sculptures from many artists. Varieties of pathways, fences, plants, sculptures from small to huge... it is amazing! More coming- several areas expanding and new buildings in progress. The Docents are clearly in love with this beautiful garden, knowledgeable and enthusiastic they deserve 5 for each one!! There is a small zoo and a tram to get there. Wolves, owls, goats and much more. Bald Eagles too!

Such a beautiful area. So many statues, flowers, trees, and animals. The staff are all so helpful and friendly. Take the whole day at this place and soak it all in.

Came here with my corvette club today. I have never been and it was a nice two hour cruise for us. The place is truly beautiful if your in to nature, flowers, animals and sculpture. They have a shuttle to take you to the zoo. The grounds are kept immaculate, and so many beautiful sights to be seen. Bathrooms are clean. Gift shop and restaurant are pretty good too. 22.00 for adult ticket, or 75 for the year. I really enjoyed myself, even though it was really hot and humid today.

Went here on Sunday December 7th 2025 for the 1st time with my parents and Aunt and Uncle to see A Night Of A Thousand Candles- which is a Christmas event. Highly Recommend buying tickets in advance as they do sell out quickly. This is my first time at Brookgreen Gardens, and they have sculptures, artwork, and various art around the venue. Please note this event for me is a 4-5 star experience. First and foremost, getting there was the hardest part as there was traffic backed up, and it was backed up getting to the parking lot. Now maybe we have lots of people checking the event out for the first time, but driving into the place should have been more organized, as far as where to go. We entered, and it seemed like forever that we were on a never ending trail. Second off, we park on the ground with grass, which can be hilly, and a little slippery too. Walking to the entrance from the parking lot was very hard as we were walking on gravel, mulch, and various other landscapes, that and that area was poorly lit too so one can't really see where one is going. 4 Stars for this. I was also wearing boots, maybe sneakers are the better option. Also inside the venue itself It was hard to see and seemed poorly lit. Not to mention that it is a self guided tour and sometimes people are bumping into others or made a wrong turn. Some Feedback is to maybe have an option to have a guide take you to the landmarks like the Christmas Tree, Cranberry Farm, the restaurant, and the various other locations. This may also direct traffic easier. The lights are nice, and decorating the oak tree is pretty, but for me it didn't do anything for me. Not to mention that it was cold, and ideally recommend to bundle up. They do have food and a tent with music to sit at. Oh, and learned from the musician that BrookGreen gardens was owned by a man who had the most slaves in the south. Nice to know that there is history to the place! Side note: this is also where a guide can come in, and help tell us about the place. Loved the music tent. Also loved the candy cane tunnel too! And The big Christmas Tree! Some other feedback would be to have tables and chairs to eat ones snack or hot chocolate at- some people don't like moving and eating or drinking at the same time. Oh, and the restrooms were clean, and they have plenty of restrooms throughout the area. Don't Forget to check out the trains in the building! Loved seeing the big Rudolph Train, The Hogwarts Express, and The Polar Express! And the Miser Brothers too! Recommend this experience at least once!

Stunning gardens & sculptures. Well worth a visit and one ticket allows you to return over the next 6 days... So we didn't feel like we had to stuff it all in during one visit.

7.24.24 Highly recommend Summer Light: Art by Night. Admission is $30 and hours are 6-10pm. When I called and asked I was told it is not a guided tour and that it could take 1.5-2.5 hours. I believe it can be done in 30 minutes to an hour depending if you take photos or not. It was hot and humid and surprisingly it felt more humid between 8:15-9pm versus when we first arrived around 8. I thought it would cool down at sunset, but that was not the case. The lights illuminate and take better photos at night. Truly an enchanting and exquisite experience. I highly recommend.

We came here for their "Night of a Thousand Candles" Christmas light display. The grounds were beautifully decorated with some incredible light displays. They limit the number of tickets which are sold to prevent an overcrowded experience. You can walk through the grounds at your own pace and enjoy the lights. There are also several shows at various times although we didn't see any of them.

4/9/24: Brookgreen Gardens is a "Must See" when visiting S. Carolina. It's been ages since I visited SC. Brookgreen Gardens was the #1 place to revisit. We were only staying in Charleston for 3 days. Out of those days, the first day would be the best weather wise. So we drove right from the airport to the gardens. Timewise , it took a little over one hour. The gardens were just as lovely as I remembered. Beautiful flowers and many species of trees are everywhere. As you walk, you'll be mesmerized by the magnificent size sculptures of mythological characters, animals and much much more... In addition, poems are displayed throughout the lovely gardens. The garden paths are designed well for those needing assistance. There's a nice café to enjoy a sandwich on the grounds. Big thanks to Volunteer Jim S. He was very friendly and informative about the gardens. Brookgreen Gardens is truly a memorable experience.

My daughter wants to get her senior pictures taken there, do they allow that? Thanks

I don't see why they wouldn't. People take pictures there daily but I'm sure you'd have to pay the admission fee. Also, keep in mind that they also have special events occasionally and admission during those events will cost more. I'd call them to…
