The hotel itself was nice, the room was decent and the breakfast bar was good. I booked our reservation through a third party website, which I swear I clicked on the Hampton inn site. I was charged a different amount than when I checked out. When I called the hotel, they told me my reservation showed up through Expedia. I called Expedia and they had no record of the reservation. I found my reservation and called that booking number. They couldn't find it either. When I finally (after 15 phone calls) found someone who could speak to me; they told me there were damages to the room after I left. When I called the hotel back they told me there were no damages to that room, even thought they couldn't find my reservation. I'm not sure who is to blame but I am not happy with the entire situation. read more

Very nice Hampton Inn off the major roads. You can walk to an Italian Restaurant and a grocery store without needing to drive. The Hotel is surrounded by Palmetto trees. Breakfast was good and room had a sofa and refrigerator. read more

I stayed two nights in a row in two different rooms. Both rooms had issues in the bathroom. The first room had black stuff all over the place in the tub the second room. The sink was full of toothpaste and hair. I've stayed in this hotel multiple times never had an issue. They can't blame it on the construction because it's all done I called the front desk. They did offer another room, but it was too late. I was already unpacked, and I was thoroughly exhausted and could not move another inch. The least they could've done was give me a free night but they only gave me 20,000 points for my inconvenience. I will never stay there again. I'll definitely stay at Pawleys Island never had an issue there! read more

We were in town to go to murrels inlet for a festival and wanted somewhere close and this was 5 minutes from there. The hotel has ample parking though there is not a sign on 17 so you do have to watch where to turn in. Upon walking in the hotel is very clean and we were warmly greeted by the front desk staff. Our room was clean and comfortable. The air conditioning worked well and there were ample towels. The breakfast looked good although we did not have any there. The hotel is very quiet. We were on the 3rd floor and we didn't hear a peep. We will be back! read more

Agree with other reviewers. SAFE, CLEAN, QUIET. I was here with my family, including two boys with special needs. We got adjoining rooms, one with a king size bed and the other with two queens. Interior doors were able to stay wide open so we just walked around freely. One bathroom had a tub, which was really helpful for kids. (The room with queen beds had the tub; king bed had a shower, just FYI.) both rooms had a mini microwave and fridge. The room with the queen beds had a taller/larger dorm size fridge. The beds were super soft and comfortable, as were the pillow options. Seriously, this might have been the quietest hotel I've ever been in. read more

If you are going to be in the area and not looking for beach-front accomodations, this is a good location. From here, you are only minutes away from Huntington Beach State Park and Brookgreen Gardens. Also, it is only minutes away from the 'restaurant row' at the Murrells Inlet waterfront area. Expect to drive everywhere though, this area is not pedestrian-friendly. I found this Hampton Inn to be a little nicer than some I have stayed in at other locations. The employees were all very friendly and helpful - making reservations and the check-in/check-out process was simple & efficient. Also, I am extremly picky about how clean the rooms are and this place did meet my expectations. In addition to the nice workout room, they have a little pool and hot-tub area out back. However, I am picky about public pools and this one looked like it have used a little more attention to cleaning so I stayed out of it. (Public hot tubs are always gross so I would definitely not go in there either!) They do have breakfast and the daily offerings included a variety of fruits, yogurt, cereal, toast & pastries, waffles, scrambled eggs, some sort of b-fast meat, oatmeal, grits, juice, coffee, etc. I have traveled on business to a lot of places that advertise "free wi-fi" that don't really work well (or at all in some cases). But, I was able to log on anytime with no issues. I would definitely stay here again. read more

Great hotel. Wonderful staff. Clean rooms and well kept grounds. Parking is ample. Location is convenient. Breakfast is yummy. The only downfall....Hilton has gone CHEAP-O and there are no little shampoo, conditioner & lotion. These have been replaced with large size, attached to the wall and shower, plastic bottles. Not so nice. For $100.+ for a room Hilton should loosen their purse strings and bring back the travel size items. And the one tiny bar of soap that you do get is maybe big enough to wash one leg. But the most impressive thing to me is that the woman at the front desk called us when our room was ready since we got into town early. I stayed at this hotel two nights last month on a business trip. After a long 8 hour drive in the car, I was very happy to stay in such a comfortable room. The temperature throughout the hotel was very cool and comfortable. They give you plenty of extra soft pillows to sleep on, and my room had an LG flat panel TV with a small refridgerator and microwave. The bathroom was spacious with plenty of towels and toiletries provided. It was extremely affordable as well. In fact, I think that is what caused me to rank this hotel with 5 stars. You get SO much for such a great price. I highly recommend staying there. You also get a free breakfast in the morning and newspaper at your door. Awesome! This was our second stay. Hotel is a nicer Hampton Inn. The front desk staff are extremely helpful and friendly. (chic chip cookies were a bonus for my kids) the pool was clean. On the small side though. Quiet. Quick car ride to Huntington beach (loved) and Brookgreen gardens (really loved). Grocery store and restaurant wi walking distance. WOW! Just WOW! This was the most luxurious hotel I've stayed in in a long time! It was very wonderful. We stayed in this after we left the awful hotel in Myrtle Beach, SC. This had just opened 2 months prior to our stay. The entrance was very nice with a fireplace and beautiful woodwork. The rooms have ultra soft bedding and pillows with an ultra soft mattress to match. I sunk into the bed and slept hard both nights. The rooms have internet access. The desks and furniture weren't the typical square boxy stuff, but had sleek, modern curvy lines, very different from the typical room. The bathroom had modern sinks and racks for the towels. Nothing typical in this hotel at all. They had a full breakfast in the morning. Eggs, ham, bagels, danishes, fruit, various coffees, juices, and toasts. I was very satisfied every morning. The front staff were wonderfully nice. (Yes, American!) Very pleasant and wanting to make the best for us. They realized we were tired and frustrated coming in and offered to do their best to make our stay pleasant. What a difference! Our room overlooked the pool. Outside the landscape was beautifully done all around. I would more than highly reccommend this hotel to anyone! read more

Standard Hampton Inn with typical pros and cons. A bit older than some with bad, flat pillows in room. Becoming typical Hilton offering - old beds and pillows-wife and I both woke up with back aches. I love Hilton, I love Hampton. I frequently stay at them for business and pleasure. While this hotel is beautiful and the staff is amazingly kind, friendly and helpful...the stay is not good. The a/c in our room was ridiculously out of control. I was constantly adjusting it, even in the middle of the night, it was either sweltering hot or ice cold. And no feature on it for the fan to run continuously (I'm a fan person, I need the background noise! Plus it could help with this crazy awful temperature fluctuations). That with the fact I could hear EVERYTHING from the people upstairs. I mean I could hear them yawning and their conversations. I can't even remember the last time I stayed in a hotel that I could make out voices in neighboring rooms. It may be a beautiful hotel and the staff may be amazing, but what I need when I come to a hotel is a good nights sleep and I sure didn't get it. read more

The customer service is at the worst you can expect at this hotel. When i checked in I was not offered water or a "how are you?". Second day of my stay I had 4 dogs in the room next to me that kept barking all night long. The manager's response was he can't help much since the owners of the dogs left the room and he cannot enter the room. Hotel Manager's solution to fix situation next day was to offer me 1000 pt's for the bad night experience. For anyone who understands their points system it's 3.33% compensation for the amount of money the room costs for the night (30,000 points). She was extremely rude even in offering that 1000 points and behaved as if she is doing a favor by compensating me. I am an IHG spire elite member and never would I stay at this hampton for their staff's behavior. Stick with Holiday INN. read more

Hampton Inn is the only chain hotel I use when I have a choice, so I've stayed in many. This one was subpar for the following reasons. It was dirty. The hallways, lobbies, and elevator were nasty, with grime, old breakfast cereal, and fingerprints. Looks like they hadn't been swept, mopped, or wiped down in two weeks. The walls and tables of the dining area also need cleaning. (Of course the breakfast is horrible but that is at all of them.) Lastly, the uncomfortable mattress and pillows need to be replaced. read more

This was by far the best hotel stay ever! I have traveled extensively and enjoyed many varieties of hotels along the way that were excellent but this one was a step above all the rest. Easy to locate; exceptionally friendly staff on all shifts, housekeeping and dining room included; very comfortable beds with excellent room lighting ; fresh coffee in the lobby at all hours with offers to make more at any time, with a smile; delicious, hot breakfast served till 10am every day, and most surprising of all, nothing was dried out when my sister and I arrived for breakfast at 9:45am. It was fresh egg omelets with delicious home fries and bacon strips and oatmeal made to perfection. AWESOME! Will stay there every time.... read more
