After waiting 28 minutes on hold and after telling the person who answered who my eye Doctor, what was happening to my eye, and that my PCP said I need to get it checked asap I was told they are scheduling for August and September (6&7 months later). I told this lady that I didn't think this was what why PCP meant by asap. She said that my PCP should send a referral and then maybe we can get you in in a month or so. I understand that health care today is stretched but on my eye Doctor's web page for the practice it says " accepting new patients ". Maybe you should take care of your current patients and if your so busy you can't see them in a reasonable time, then you should not be taking on new patients. I will be finding a new eye Doctor.

He is absolutely the best doctor I have ever had…read more 1. Knowledge: beyond that of any doctor I have ever seen. He not only knew more than anyone else I had seen, but he also could recognize what he didn't know, and he found out on his own and got back to me. I literally had five different diagnosis from five different doctors. My illness was confusing, and he was the only one to correctly predict what I was going to experience as time went on, and how to deal with (and cure) what I had despite the lack of tests to verifiably diagnose me. He noticed within moments what no other doctor had the insight to detect. 2. Bedside manner: fantastic. I was extremely comfortable. I felt taken care of and respected. He didn't ever oversimplify or dumb down his diagnosis. He was clear, honest, and helpful in describing what he saw honestly and completely and without unnecessary lingo. He made everything extremely easy on me (He partly filled out forms for me so I didn't have to figure it out and he mailed them to me at my apartment (name, type of care etc). It was incredible how caring and how important it was to me!) They really made a great effort to make you comfortable, and give you mental ease while you're sick. 3. Wait time: Above and beyond. I always came in in the morning if I had an appointment, but there were times when I was sick with a fever and just called in hoping to see someone sometime that day. They always got me in right away with maybe a 10 minute wait! It was fantastic. I can't speak highly enough about Dr. Goldstein! I am super hard to please and kinda critical in general, but that is especially true when I'm sick. Dr. Goldstein was fantastic. I never had to worry about anything from billing to accurate information to staff remembering my history, to paperwork, to general caring atmosphere, and most of all I had confidence finally that he knew his stuff, and I was going to get well after quite a lot of searching!! My highest recommendation goes to him!

Now on to the review: The first time I went to his office I waited for hours, as they were so far behind schedule and my appointment was still mid morning. He did take the time to send me for the tests I necessary; nevertheless, he was unable to diagnose what my particular problem was. He was actually baffled. As the other Yelper indicated, he did not issue and Rx unnecessarily, which is always appreciated and he okayed my to fly. He scheduled a follow-up appointment and sent me for repeat tests, same results and still no idea of what the problem with me ears is. "We", and I say we, because I have been looking for answers as well, have looked into drug interactions and other factors and have been unable to come up with anything. Yet, the problem persists. I have my third appointment coming up soon. If he does not find a solution to my ongoing ear problem (this has been 10 months) ~ I am going to break up with him.....

To say that I am a grateful patient, is an understatement. Here I am, 38 years later, and I remember Dr. Randolph's care, expertise, thoroughness, compassion, and concern for my well-being. Little did I know, then, that Dr. Randolph would become one of the leading thyroid surgeons in the WORLD. I've been back to Mass Eye and Ear several times, since then, to see a variety of specialists in ophthalmology, ENT, Facial and Plastic Surgery, and optometry. Every experience was over the top, and what you would expect of one of the preeminent eye, head, and neck hospitals in the world, and one of Harvard Medical School's flagship, teaching and research hospitals. In December 2025, I fell and had multiple injuries, including a fractured nose. Rather than see a plastic surgeon, who treats patients from head to toe, I opted, instead, to be seen by a Facial and Plastics Surgeon at Mass Eye and Ear. I was referred by a friend who is "in the know" in Boston medical circles, to Dr. David Shaye, who took outstanding care of me, and who managed to work some miracle in the Operating Room, where he returned my crooked nose (from the fall) to its original shape, without any incisions (or blood). Recently, I was seen for an annual eye exam, by optometrist, Dr. Leah Margolis, who performed the most thorough annual eye exam that I have ever had. Dr. Margolis' care, was consistent with her thoroughness and efficiency. She came up with a brilliant solution for my reading, that was a one-off, stroke of brilliance. I don't know how Mass Eye and Ear, Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital, and Newton Wellesley Hospital do it, but they are the best of the best, and they have the best doctors, nurses, and other clinical staff (most notably, PA's, NP's, and CRNA's).

What creditials can't give you, however, is patient care. My experience with the front desk/administrative staff, the nurses, the other doctors I interacted with (it's a learning hospital) and Dr. Gray herself has been beyond exceptional. The front desk staff (especially Sam) has gone beyond all expectations to make certain that I was prepared for the appointment, had all the answers to any questions I may have had, and even went through great lengths to assist me in scheduling an appointment with another specialist Dr. Gray referred me to who had a notoriously difficult front staff and who I was especially frustrated with. The remainder of the administrative staff was also friendly and helpful, from receptionist to billing. Dr. Gray herself was friendly and informative. She took the time to explain each test she was doing and why it was needed and, although, ultimately, my problem does not lie in Dr. Gray's arena to be resolved (hence the referral), she was helpful in ruling out potential causes and helping me understand what the next steps would be. I cannot recommend highly enough Dr. Gray and her associates.

I called to see if they could pull up a medical release form that I had signed two years ago and transfer my records over to another office, and she insisted that I had never sent them a form. Basically yelling at me over the phone. Front desk staff are a critical component of any healthcare, as they're the first person you see and can set the tone for the rest of the appointment. I would never want someone like her to be in charge of issues like appointments, who to talk to about bills, etc. Absolutely horrendous experience. Plus each time I've come, I've had to wait upwards of at least half an hour to an hour before being seen.

After all of her berating, I left her office on the verge of tears and she gave me no advice, no follow up instructions, and no treatment. I felt unheard and unappreciated, which is unfortunately a feeling so many women have when it comes to healthcare. I would not recommend going to her for any reason and strongly encourage you to seek help elsewhere.
