Snowbird here. Can't stand being in NY for the winter, so I head out west for a few months. My 2 house cats don't travel well so I leave them behind but was considering skipping going away this winter. She clearly not only attended to all their needs, with multiple meds and dietary restrictions, but she hung out awhile with them to keep them company! I find their website to be very user friendly, they keep keys on site and with the sitter and communication is always great! Now the most important part! Their sitters are AMAZING! Carson is a GEM! She takes such good care of my boys and went out of her way for our more nervous new addition! This is a very belated review, but extremely deserved. We found Brooklyn Cat Sitting and Kaitlin during the pandemic, and she was absolutely wonderful with our older boy Mookie. We had such peace of mind knowing that she was checking in on him while we were gone, especially because he was older and would get very stressed when we left. He also had some kitty IBS issues and so was not always the easiest cat to watch, but she never complained. As the pandemic subsided and her business expanded to include more sitters, we had a few rotating sitters watch Mookie and all were extremely professional and kind. The report cards left after each visit were an adorable touch (we appreciate that he never got anything less than an A, even when he had an accident..lol), and we always looked forward to receiving funny photos of him from our sitter. We even received a photo with "congrats mom and dad!" at the top while we were away getting married :) Our beloved Mookie sadly passed in late September, 2023 after 18.5 wonderful years together, and when we let Kaitlin and our current sitter know, they both expressed heartfelt condolences and sent a beautiful succulent gift in his memory. We have since moved out of the city (and have a new furry companion to love, Ziggy), but we would recommend Brooklyn Cat Sitting to anyone needing excellent and reliable care for their kitty while away. I felt very safe leaving my very nervous cat to their care. They reassured me and committed to spending 30 minutes twice a day. We were updated with pictures and an email. We typically had Eleni as our cat sitter, and she was so fantastic with our two cats. I used Brooklyn Cat Sitting over Christmas and, for the most part, had a great experience. The initial sign up and consult was super easy and went smoothly. We got great updates from the sitter while we were gone and both cats (even the shy one) liked her a lot. There was an emergency with one cat and the sitter took him to the emergency vet and stayed with him until about 3 am. This was huge because I was in Mexico and definitely unable to get back (and he is the love of my life). Now, both cats are happy and healthy. Yesterday, I had an alternate sitter fall through, so I contacted BCS today. They found us a sitter and set up a consult within hours. Just met with the sitter and she was great. Moving to NY from SF meant losing my free, wonderful cat sitting friends, so it has been really great to find a company I can rely on. My sitter was nice, but didn't show up on one of the days I paid for. Their site also gives you the option to book longer visits for more money, but my sitter never actually stayed for the amount of time I paid for (verified by building security camera). That said, when my sitter DID take care of my cat, it was very nice. I got nice pictures of my cat and a description of what the sitter and my cat did every day. Similar to another review, after waiting a few days after my initial web submission I heard from Kaitlin to schedule the meet and greet. After multiple follow-up emails from me, I never heard from her again. Maybe she does a great job if she decides to follow through on her commitments, but due to her lack of professionalism my search for a cat sitter over the holidays has now been delayed another two weeks while Kaitlin was busy not knowing how to run a business. We've been extremely happy with the level of care Brooklyn Cat Sitting provides for our cat Hemingway. Sally treats our cat as if he were her own and sends us pictures at each visit, giving lots of playtime and cuddles. She is a true cat whisperer. I did a Google search and found a few services, but I the info on the Brooklyn Catsitting site was so impressive that I decided to go with them. Kaitlin came over with Liesl who would be sitting the cats. The intake interview was thorough and I immediately felt at ease. We were away three days and once I got the first email update, I was totally relaxed. We came home to two obviously happy cats, report cards, and a personal note from the sitter. In addition to excellent general care, all sitters come with first aid kits, so they are prepared. In our case, one of the cats scratched herself to the point of a little bleeding. This was reported to us and the cut was attended to. Amazing! I am typically reluctant to go away for a number of reasons, including worrying about the cats. Before finding Brooklyn Cat Sitting we had hired a different sitter through another cat sitting service. But the sitter had a dog and I think that the smell she carried made our cat feel a little uneasy, I love dogs as well, but I appreciate that Kaitlin is a cat-centric sitter. Kaitlin is very professional and I felt secure leaving our cat child in her hands. She came over and met her and us. She asked the obvious questions about where all of our cat's food, treats, and litter, etc was. But what I appreciated, is that she also asked about favorite toys, activities, her habits, hiding places etc. Kaitlin is very thorough and took notes for our cat's record. While we were away (for a week) she made sure to text me daily updates along with a photo of our cat. This made me feel so much more secure. I would recommend Brooklyn Cat Sitting to anyone.
