    Our spoiled pets
    Dan H.

You and your adopted pup or your curious cat might be sitting in front of your laptop browsing all the glitzy Williamsburg doggy daycare options, wondering how Your Spoiled Pets stacks up. Are Greer and Scott a reliable "mom and pop" duo? Will your animals be cared for in a safe and clean environment? Will kitty be fed and played with on time while you're away working on that tan/sunburn in Tulum? Can you trust them with your keys and your pets' lives? Can you contact them easily before that last minute ski trip? Is this just a matter of location convenience or are they worth your business? After almost two years of dog walks pre pandemic, plenty of planned dog boarding nights and cat visits, as well as last minute help during family emergencies, my family unequivocally endorses Your Spoiled Pets - not as a matter of convenience, but because they are as reliable as they come - and they WILL spoil your pets for the better. Dog walks - a thing of the past, but maybe it will come back now with post COVID return to office. They had a great crew back in 2019. Dog daycare/boarding - the space is clean, staff are friendly, doggy report cards are cute and informative, and instructions are followed. Our wild guy always comes back happy and tired AF - and a tired dog is a great dog! I use the app to book in advance, but also call in or walk in when we are in a pinch - a true mom & pop, personalized experience that not every provider offers. As you know with pet businesses, it can be a dog eat dog world out there- but I know I can lean on YSP. Anecdote time-- I came 5 minutes before closing recently because my partner was hospitalized and I needed dog boarding and cat visits in a pinch. Scott helped me arrange for our pets on the spot - a truly gracious and accommodating gesture, for which my family is incredibly grateful and pets are forever spoiled. And that is the whole point, isn't it. What is there to say about cat sitters? Our old kitty loves being fed and played with, and we always come home to a happy cat and clean food bowls. Throw your hands up for the Brooklyn cats- it's not all about the dogs. In short, we trust Scott and Greer and their staff with our pets' lives. They care a great deal, they are family people, they "get" you and your pets, they give a level of service unparalleled in this competitive Brooklyn scene - and they put up with me and all my pet-spoiling requests. Again, eternally grateful for their help with the pets in those rare family emergencies- seriously don't know what we'd do without them! Thank you Scott, Greer, and the YSP staff - you are best in show.

Lucho the Frenchie celebrating his birthday on his YSP walk with Tara

Tara and the YSP team are truly unbelievable. Tara walked my little one, Lucho for about two years before we moved out of state earlier this year. During that time I'd come home to the most hilarious written notes of how their walk went. My dog has a huge personality and she would capture his little antics and fun moments in these notes so perfectly to the point where I have every single note saved and want to turn them into a coffee table book one day. You can tell Tara and the team really value the time they spend with each dog and getting to know and celebrate their personalities. It gave me such peace of mind to know I was leaving my fur baby in the best of hands. I truly can not recommend them enough and so wish we could use their services in Boston (hint hint Greer, please open a place here one day!). If you're in need of a dog walker or dog daycare for your pup, there's no one else in the area to consider but Your Spoiled Pets.

We love YSP for being able to take care of our cat while we're out of town. We've been using them ever since we moved into the neighborhood and have no complaints. Every day they'll send a little "repurrrt" with pictures and a consistently creative description of how our beast is doing. Sometimes I think they're better cat parents than we are.

YSP is the best doggy daycare in the biz, hands down. Greer, Scott, and their entire team treat every single pup as their own, with great attention and care for individual needs of your fur baby. Jetta has been to YSP countless times and always comes outta there tired and happy; she makes new friends and enjoys catching up with old pals. There's space for her to chill out in the dog house, or romp around and wreak havoc. Jetta's stayed over for boarding too, and has some pretty particular feeding instructions with her IBD--no problem for the YSP team; she was given all of the love and attention she needed. If you need a doggy daycare, boarding, walks, or cat sits, give Greer and Scott a call. Jetta promises that you will be happy you did!

Ruby is always really proud of her report cards from Your Spoiled Pets walkers!

Your Spoiled Pets have some of the kindest, most thoughtful walkers ever. Our dog, Ruby, clearly loves them too!! I recommend them to everyone I know with pets.

I bought a package for my then-11-yr-old Puli, who I'd recently brought to NY after spending the majority of her life living with my mom in Florida. My dog is quite anxious and barks a lot, and struggled with the transition from living with one person to 8 overnight. I sought Twahlee's help in correcting my dog's anxious tendencies because at this stage of her life, the proper training techniques Twahlee has to offer would have been extremely difficult to implement. He helped give me an array of tools to help teach my dog stronger obedience, which would then lead to greater control over my dog. About 2 years later, I moved into a new home with a housemate who has a dog that can be aggressive with other dogs. Because I hadn't used my entire package, I asked Twahlee if there was a chance he could come by and apply one of my pre-paid classes to visit our home and assess how the two dogs exist in the home. He let me know that packages expire after one year, but that he would come anyway, because ultimately he just wants to help others. This was highly generous of him to do, and I'm extremely grateful for his flexibility. At the end of the day, choosing to work with a trainer is less so to train your dog than to train yourself on how to better manage your pet, and Twahlee did a great educating me on areas I could be doing better. His help and kindness over the last few years has been greatly appreciated, and I can say with great confidence he can make a meaningful difference in every dog and trainer's life.

We attended many private and group training sessions. We utilized Twahlee's guidance for months of training on walks, at parks, eating outside at restaurants. Twahlee helped us tap into our dog's motivation for food and play to make training a fun experience for him. Now, our dog can walk in a perfect heel, is off-leashed trained so he can run free at parks and on hikes with perfect recall, and is obedient enough to bring into shops, eat outside at restaurants and travel with. Would highly recommend Twahlee's training for any dog issues - the earlier you start, the easier it'll be to set good practices for your dog.

The package we purchased offered 4 virtual classes. The first class went over quite well; Elizabeth recommended we make lickies (wetspaw toppls) and use a stick (bully sticks) to help keep our dog occupied during the day. Both are great suggestions which we continue to use months later. Scheduling for the next few classes did not prove easy, Elizabeth needed to cancel the second training session, and due to some responsiveness problems we weren't ever able to get time on the books for another date. We ended up just finding a different in-person one-on-one training option which logistically has proven easier and yielded great results. Despite not making use of the virtual training classes we were able to frequently make use of the in person "Play and Train" classes offered for puppies. What an incredible service, the Dog Institute employees do a fantastic job providing a safe space for puppies to interract and grow their social skills. Without question the best service offered by this business, our pup is comfortable around all dogs now thanks to these early interractions. We had also been working individually with some wonderful institute employees to help board our pup based on their availabilty but this caused some complications as the business required that all such services be routed through the school for payment purposes. When push came to shove, what should have been an easy interaction between individuals got complicated when the business insisted on getting involved; the payment structure requested seemed to change each time and was definitely not commensurate with market rate. Overall a few negative issues hurt what would otherwise be a positive experience.

From our first session on, it was constant rescheduling, constantly forgetting that we had an appointment, and often acting as if it was my fault. She seems to be very knowledgeable about dogs, but does not seem to put much effort into your virtual training sessions. She was often multitasking, once walking down Bedford Ave on a training session and commenting on various things she saw. She is incredibly kind but not a reliable dog trainer. To echo what someone else commented, she was also a little deceptive with the puppy play and train. After our first session she asked when we were going to the play and train. I naturally assumed that a play and train session was included in the package I purchased and booked my puppy a class through Elizabeth. After the play and train session I was texted to see how I was going to pay for the session. With that being said, the play and train sessions were the most impactful component of the training offered, but ultimately not worth it given that you have to simultaneously book trainings with Elizabeth. I truly hope that she can sort out her organization skills because she is truly knowledgeable and has the potential to offer dogs and their owners a lot. However, at the end of the day I felt scammed out of my money given how disorganized and unreliable she was and I did not even complete the full four session I purchased.

He chewed my furniture, jumped on everyone, pulled the leash constantly, and tried to eat everything off the street. Since working with Angela, he's made huge progress in every area. While he's still a puppy and has his moments, he now pulls much less on walks, chews far less, and is generally much more obedient. Angela uses positive reinforcement, and Vesuvius absolutely loves seeing her -- his tail starts wagging the second she arrives. Beyond training, Angela is incredibly knowledgeable about dogs and shares valuable advice on health, products, and how to better understand the way dogs see the world. She's always punctual, caring, and checks in on him if he's not feeling well or if any issues come up. It's clear she truly loves what she does and genuinely cares about the dogs she works with. I highly recommend Angela -- she's made life with my pup so much easier and more enjoyable.

I appreciated his honesty and he the fact he did not try to upsell me. During the first 10/15 minutes of meeting our pup, he provided his diagnosis. Not only that, he taught us something that corrected one of his behaviors before the end of the session. His first session was December 2020. We followed the instructions from the first session until his second session in February 2021. At first the appointments being spread out concerned us but, as soon as he came over, it was seamless and we picked up where we left off. He taught us more techniques and made it clear he was available for any questions until the next session. He implemented effective changes that were easy to teach and transferrable in addressing different behaviors. Todd completed his final session this month and the overall differences are notable. He addressed hand shyness, when company comes over, leash and collar changes, better obedience (shibas are stubborn), walking techniques, reactions/reinforcements, as well as better play techniques. I have already recommended him to a friend. Book him, you won't regret it!

My girlfriend and I contacted Dominik for some help with our 1.5 year old goldendoodle, Benny…read more Benny is a great dog but after training him ourselves for the first year or so we still needed to clean up a few areas of concern. We asked Dominik for help with the following: - Leash training. Despite trying to train basic leash skills with Benny it often felt like my girlfriend & I were out on a walk WITH HIM as opposed to the other way around. When he smelled or saw something interesting (plants, trees, stop signs, NYC street food aka chicken bones) he would quickly divert his path to go check that thing out & it would take us quite a bit of convincing to get him back at our side & walking again. - Reactivity to other dogs, and sometimes children, on the street. Benny would typically lay down prone when passing other dogs or children on bikes/scooters, encouraging them to come up to him, and then he would quickly pop up to say hello - sometimes startling the other dog and/or owner. We wanted him to stop with the laying down in the middle of the sidewalk & stop quickly popping up to say hello. - Reactivity to guests (expected or not) & delivery people. Benny would bark and growl anytime someone approached our front door or entered the house. Dominik helped us understand some of the bad habits we were utilizing as handlers and how they played into some of the behaviors we wanted to correct. Since working with Dominik Benny no longer lays down on the street to greet other dogs; he's still very curious and will look in their direction but he remains at our side without breaking stride. Along those lines, our walks are much more enjoyable now that he is obedient on leash, listens to our commands, and maintains eye contact/attention on us throughout our walks. Lastly, our final session was yesterday and we worked specifically on reactivity to unexpected guests and by utilizing place training + a positive reward system Benny was no longer growling at our friend who was there to act as a guest for the training session. Dominik also helped us work on off-leash recall skills & a proper heel position. Not only did he help us become better dog parents; he also helped Benny to be more confident when in new scenarios & improved his overall obedience. Dominik also introduced us to some tools that we were not familiar with (slip lead, clicker training, place board) and somewhat uncomfortable with before he taught us the proper techniques to utilize them (prong collar). We'll be utilizing all of these tools moving forward as they have been a massive aid. After 6 sessions with Dominik we feel more informed, prepared, & confident in continuing Benny's training. We can't thank Dominik enough.
