The make up policies are tettible, the extra charge on CC payments are outrageous. The coaches are not the best and the front desk staff is horrible. The latest: many people paid anywhere from $500-$1300 before the virus closing. The place was MIA till yestetday. They finally called and instead of offering sessions to continue with no additional cost (the ones that were paid for before the virus), the owner wants us to pay for new sessions PLIS THE $55 REGISTRATION FEE! and use the paid for sessions as make ups. When I said that I was also affected by the virus and can't pay additional money on top of $500 I already paid, he said, this is the only option. I also said I can't come 2x a week amd he said "it's either that or nothing". So if I can't pay for new sessions and can not make up the ones I paid for, he gets to keep my $500??? He's done it to many other paremts as well. Beware . read more

Just had my 6 year old's party there. The staff was amazing, and kept all the kids engaged during the party! None of us wanted the party to end. The kids warmed up, bounced on the trampoline, swung on a rope and the rings, ran obstacle courses, and used the balance beam. I loved that each kid was made to feel special by getting a medal at the end. Downstairs in the party room, more staff was great, having the pizza set up for the kids when they came down, playing limbo, eating cake, and made sure to ask if we wanted to get a family picture with the birthday child and his cake. I would have another party there in a second!!! read more

BGC is an amazing place for kids to go and get involved in gymnastics. My two sons went there and both loved it. All of the staff are well trained and have tons of experience. The location is great, there's always parking, always clean inside and always very welcoming. Overall five stars! read more

Fun! Great equipment! My 7-year-old son just had a birthday party here. Cannot say enough good things about this place. Very happy overall. Exceeded my expectations. Party was a blast. Although I like the place and the programs they offer, they really shorten the time. A class is 45 minutes and they start 3 minutes late and end 3 minutes early; that really bothers me. Also, some kids need time to adjust and to play in the area before class starts, but for some reason, EVEN WITH PARENTS this is a big deal and they say no. The teacher we have is great, PABLO, he is good with the kids and learned a whole new language just for the job. I just wish that they didn't rush and authentically took the time to care. This is the management's fault, not the teachers. read more

I was shopping around for a place to enroll my 5 year child into gymnastics. This is the one where she liked the most that was convenient to my home and for a great price which seemed like a deal. Their teachers are friendly, and caring. Their gymnastics are pretty big. They also have open play time on Sunday from 2pm to 3pm for $10 where the kids can do anything and everything. read more

We had a birthday party there recently for our 7 year old. The instructors were great and had the kids laughing throughout. They played games, did obstacle courses and got to jump on the trampoline and swing on the uneven bars. They have a spacious party room and I like that pizza and cake were included for a reasonable price (comparatively speaking). They even diffused a low blood sugar tears situation. read more

I agree that BGC has great birthday partiess. We even did the summer program and had a great experience, so we signed up for the fall session. During the summer my daughter had Daniel as an instructor, he was so warm and fun - and totally engaged with the kids. He was basically why I wanted to return. Once Daniel left, I realized that the place wasn't great - HE was great. I initially signed up because the place had "real" gymnastics - not just tumbling trying to masquerade as real. They have all of the equipment - trampolines, parallel/uneven bars, balance beam, everything you would think you would need to learn gymnastics. Most of the time my daughter spent in there was waiting to go next. The teacher was totally dis-engaged and not particularly friendly. They never once mentioned how they thought my daughter was doing, never said one word to the parents. Last week which was our last week, they didn't even announce it was the end and did not say goodbye to the kids. I kept waiting for them to give out a goodie bag or even a little cheap medal - but nothing. Each week I thought it would be so great if they left the last 10 minutes to let the kids have free play so they could... I don't know, maybe... HAVE FUN! The owners/managers are especially socially inept - never particularly friendly or engaging with a real dysfunctional business acumen. Great place if you want your 2 year old to head to the olympics. Otherwise, try Aviator. I heard it's GREAT! Can't wait to not have to go back! read more

Seems to have great reviews ...so I tried scheduling a try out for my daughter. When I called in the morning the lady told me she couldn't even find me on the schedule. I asked when I can come in for a try out ...she seemed unaccommodating. "Oh we're fully booked, were closed all week" ..... so I guess there were no openings for the week after. I guess she didn't want my business. Ohhh well..... sorry I tried to give you business, thankful you acted unaccommodating so I know what kind of people work there. I'll take my business somewhere else ... since you act like your the #1 top gymnastics school in the New York! Wouldn't want to put my daughter in a school with rude staff. read more

I am pretty disappointed with the place. The office staff are not friendly and rude . The old woman on the front desk abused my daughter, she also smokes cigarettes right outside the front door and the smell wafts in to the waiting room. My daughter likes gymnastics, but is scared of the front desk woman. Also, if you do make-ups she won't allow you to do this, for example one time my daughter had to do a make-up but the front desk woman wouldn't let us even if there were two people in the group. Additionally, the facility is dark, and does not feel well kept or clean, smells dirty. I would not recommend this facility to anyone looking to find a gymnastic place on a competitive level. read more

My daughter wasted a year at bgc. She had been doing gymnastics for a number of years elsewhere, and when her coach left we decided to try bgc instead of heading into the city. What a mistake! She learned not a single thing over 9 months. Her coach (Igor) was completely apathetic. Was he bored? Burnt out? Exhausted? I don't know but he does not deserve the title "coach". He had no interest in the progress of the kids or anything about them as people, he never made eye contact and often looked elsewhere while they were working out. He started class late and ended early every week. (I complained to manager at front desk but she "yesed" me and ignored me). My daughter was bored and unchallenged and almost lost her love of gymnastics completely. I couldn't leave soon enough (but Elite in the city was already booked for the year). This year we started at Elite and my daughter could not be happier. She has regained the skills and strength she lost last year and is progressing as she should. Less important in the spectrum of things, but to add; the front desk manager is rude and dismissive. There are devaluing notes taped up all around the front desk basically calling customers stupid (crazy, but true!). (Notes like: "every village has their idiot, how did we get so many?"...). I've never seen anything like it before. But when you speak with her, you get the same vibe - she knows everything and you, the parent/customer, are an idiot. She also smokes cigarettes right outside the front door and the smell wafts in to the waiting room and the parents have to inhale it. Frequently. A very distasteful environment all around. read more

I just came home from a Birthday party there. The staff was very nasty and impolite. Not all, just the older lady working the counter and again when she came downstairs. This is a great alternative to the Gymboree, because the kids actually learn gymnastics. From the moment they step foot into a fully equipped huge gym, they are on trampolines, balance beams, etc., all under a watchful eye of qualified instructors. My kids are 2 and 3 and already do flips, which is adorable to watch. The sessions usually end with a bubble blowing party, fun for all. I really recommend it. read more

My daughter loves her classes @ BGC. She started with Danny, but he had to leave because of a serious medical issue. I was told he would probably be back next fall. Pablo stepped in and has been very good. The space is large and the equipment is in very good condition. I feel very safe with the equipment as well as the instructors. They may not be the most personable but they definitely interact well with all the kids. There is a large viewing area where parents can watch the entire class. read more

Had a birthday party here for my son and it was wonderful. The staff both in the gymnastics area and party room were great. I had a large group, so they split the kids in two and set up separate obstacle courses for them. Once in the party room, the staff was very accommodating to our food and decorating requests as well as keeping the children busy with age appropriate games. Fun times had by all ! read more
